The location was off the beaten track which was perfect for myself and my granddaughter. The staff were very helpful and approachable, nothing was too much trouble. The room and facilities were great, spotlessly clean and housekeeping came in daily to make the bed and clean the bathroom. Towels were replaced as and when needed, daily if required. The food was amazing, reasonably priced for the quality and the menu was varied with specials available on a daily basis. I and my granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I have full intention of visiting in the future!!

The beds were quite high which I found difficult to get into but they were very comfortable once settled.

We stayed for two nights using the hotel as a base for visiting Cragside House, Warkworth and Amble. Our room was clean and spacious with views to front and back of the hotel. The welcome homemade brownies were a lovely touch! We had excellent (and very filling!) evening meals in the restaurant, which was always busy despite being in quite a remote setting. Breakfasts were also filling and freshly cooked to order. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Special thanks to Kelly, who seemed to work all hours but always with a smile!

The hotel changed hands some time ago and a lot of work is still ongoing. Unfortunately on our first night there was no water supply to our room, but the staff provided us with plenty of bottled water and buckets to flush the toilet, and the problem was fixed the following day. A minor complaint that it was quite a long walk from the car park at the rear of the hotel all the way round to the front door with our luggage.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating since we had our Labrador dog with us. The initial room assigned was on the top level but too difficult for the dog to navigate because of the steep steps. However, we were given another room on a lower level without fuss. We were able to eat outside for the delicious breakfast and a special place was created for the evening meal with the dog. One of the roads adjacent to the property was closed off so it was perfect for dog walking. Beautiful and tranquil location with attractive although small rooms. It was very convenient to be able to use the fire escape for bringing our luggage to the room rather than using the main entrance. The Fish and Chips and Fish Pie were excellent and were fresh. The local sourced ice cream and cheesecakes were also delicious. On Sunday’s it is very busy both in the dining room and bar so book your meal in advance.

Check out is at 10:30 Am which for us is a challenge.

The staff and food where exceptional. Fab welcome by a lovely young man. Very informative and extremely friendly. We had dinner in the bar area as we had our dog with us, who was made to feel very welcome too. The food was really good, hats off to their chef, great presentation and great local produce. Breakfast was great too, the lovely lady who served us, was friendly, kind and thoughtful. Even offered our little lady a sausage !!! Really lovely. It's these touches that make a place.

We thought the pub was a little tired, rooms could do with a deep clean. However, bed was lovely and comfortable.

We stayed in the Cottage. A very well equipped kitchen, lots of lovely living space and a pretty garden.

The "master" bedroom was very small. It would make more sense to put the 2 single beds in the smaller room against each wall and the double bed in the bigger room. My husband and daughter loved their breakfasts (kippers and eggs Benedict) but I was disappointed with the avocado on toast (a smear of avocado on bread - not the bloomer advertised) and the tomatoes were forgotten!

Loved the welcome from all the staff we interacted with Kelly, Hanmah, Marie, Tracey,i chefs Lisa and Rebecca Food fab, hot ,tasty, value for money, ate there every night. Good ambience, very comfy bed. Great to have own seating area in our apartment room.

Hot water took a while to come through hot. Could hear telephone wire noise of conversations from telegraph pole directly outside our apartment room. One window blind damaged so difficult to shut and keep shut.

My friend and I stayed here following a visit to the nearby Cragside house and Estate. The staff were friendly, helpful and cheerful; the rooms were well appointed and comfortable and whilst the stairs were a challenge for my companion, who walks with the aid of a stick, she did manage them. Our evening meal in the restaurant was delicious and the service excellent. Breakfast too was lovely, and we were particularly impressed when an American guest who wanted to try a local breakfast fish dish was told that if it wasn't to their taste he would be offered something else. What great customer care? I shall probably never stay there again but I highly recommend the Anglers Arms.

We stayed in the cottage which was lovely. The accommodation was spotless. We ate in the Inn and the food was lovely. All the staff were exceptionally friendly, kind and helpful.

The only small issue we had was no mobile phone signal to allow us to keep in touch with family. We had problems connecting to the wifi on the first day but the In. was exceptionally busy that day and when it was quieter, we got connected and had no further issues. It was only a mild temporary inconvenience and again, the staff were eager to help. This didn’t detract from our stay and we would definitely return.

We visited on a Sunday night so there was plenty of car parking space. We stayed in The Apartment which was excellent for us but it is up some steps to access and there is a steep spiral staircase down to the lovely shower/toilet which might not suit everyone. We had booked for dinner which was great and staff were friendly and attentive. We had a fabulous breakfast too.

Can't say anything negative from our visit. All good.

The cottage was well furnished and has everything we could need. The beds were comfortable and clean. Lovely garden area with seating, which was a bonus.

The small sofa could do with being repaired (small cosmetic repair) and the rooms were quite warm. Though it was a very hot weekend, a small fan would help with this. I can only assume it would be lovely and cozy in the winter.
