Lovely comfortable room, very clean staff absolutely amazing they couldnt do enough. We actually stayed the night before which was booked by a friend for her wedding. We should have moved rooms but they said we could stay in same room for 2nd night. We didnt realise that the owner used to own the boardwalk in whitley bay which we loved going to. Unfortunately it was pulledcdown when the sea front was updated a big mistake. The well wood is a very friendly pub. We enjoyed conversation s lot with the locals especially onesxeith dogs.

One of the radiators in bedroom wasnt working, someone came to check but needed a plumer but there was 2 radiators in the room and if bathroom door left open it was ok.

Welcoming, cozy, Super friendly and helpful. Super clean from top to bottom. Also if your a tall person, they have tall people bathtubs. Great food, Dinner and Breakfast, served with a smile you could tell you were important to her. Really, if you are staying in the area don''t stay anywhere else if there is a empty room here.

It gets rather warm at night. It really is my only complaint (since apparently I had to pick a down side), but she did warn us. We opened the window to let some cool in as we prefer to sleep in the cold. There is nothing the owner can do about this at all!! and its ideal for people that are generally cold all the time.

The location was great and plenty of off road parking. The room was larger than expected. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The pub part is nice to sit and have a drink, with quite a few beers and largers on tap. The menu was good, but we decided to eat elsewhere, only because we fancied Italian food.

The decor is a little tired and it looks like its all been done on the cheap. It was all functional and everything was clean but I though a little expensive for £107 for how nice the room was, at £80 I would have been happier.

Having decided to visit Northumberland for a weeks break at short notice, we were very limited on accommodation options, however the ‘Wellwood Arms’ seemed to tick all the boxes. Parking was to the rear of the property with a few steps down to the rear entrance door (however, step-free access is available to the front), and upon arrival in the restaurant area we were swiftly shown to our room by a member of staff. We stayed in Room 3, which from our understanding is the largest of the four guest rooms. There was one king size double bed and a bunk bed, and a table with tea and coffee making facilities. There was also a small television fixed to the wall, which also had a built in DVD player (there was a small selection of DVDs in the cabinet in the corridor). The bed was comfortable and the room fairly cosy. The bathroom was very spacious, and the shower over the bath had nice hot running water. The breakfast menu was great, with a good selection of cereals, tea, coffee and fruit juices, and various hot breakfast choices from the usual cooked English to Eggs benedict and Pancakes, etc. All options were very tasty and filling. Most evenings we enjoyed a meal in the restaurant and once again there was a good selection, which in the main were very tasty. On the whole we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the ‘Wellwood Arms’ and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. The town of Amble was interesting and a great base to explore Northumberland.

Things we thought could be improved; It would have been useful to have a copy of the food menu within the room. The staff were very friendly and efficient, but it would have been nice to have known their names, it would have been nice if they could have introduced themselves when we first arrived, etc. It would have been nice to have more interaction with the staff, ie. If they took an interest in what you were up to for the day and maybe offered some top tips, etc. (Which is what we have experienced in other B&B places we

The staff were great and the breakfast was amazing! The property is well located with a short walk down the town to the harbour. The bed was really big and comfy. We were able to park in the carpark. We had a meal in the restaurant which was nice. Great selection of beers and gin! Always a plus.........

There was very little noise from the pub, but the floor boards creak and with the rooms off a narrow corridor and the doors being heavy it can get a little loud. So if you are a light sleeper take ear plugs!

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were outstanding (friendly, welcoming and helpful). The food in the restaurant was very good. Saturday night the restaurant was very busy and there was a slight wait on food but the staff coped very well and took good care of all the diners with a smile on their face, although the were obvioulsy under pressure. Breakfast is very generous. I chose the smaller cooked breakfast but was unable to finish it.

I always prefer a room with a bath but had a shower.

Wellwood Arms is in a good central position in Amble, handy for town centre and easy walking distance to the harbour and beach. Enjoyed a good breakfast, with guests getting a discount, as breakfast wasn't included in room price. Would return to The Wellwood again.

No negatives. My room was at the back, so didn't hear any noise from restaurant or bar.

The food was very good and also choices were excellent for my fried who is vegan. Bedding and bathroom were cleaned well and room serviced regularly. Staff were very obliging and always lovely and cheerful. Atmosphere in the pub was excellent and location of the pub was ideal.

Maybe could provide extra towel rail in the bathroom and hanging hooks for clothing. No headboard or side table with the single bed. Carpet was a bit grubby, but I guess this is difficult to keep clean with lots of traffic.

Excellent large shower in my room. Clean rooms, lovely and welcoming staff. Top notch brekkie. My second stay here and I'll definitely be back. I love it.

If I was being picky, the fact that you can't lock you windows on the latch when you want them slightly ajar at night and your room is above a flat roof is slightly irritating but doesn't put me off staying again!!

The location was great to walk into Amble, also great location to explore Warkworth, Alnmouth and Alnwick. Our room and our daughter's family room were spotlessly clean. Our two granddaughters aged five, and six months were made very welcome and accommodated them well. We ate in the restaurant all four evenings. The food was good quality and there's a good choice. Choice of breakfast was also excellent.

The carpark got a little full at times as the garage over the road kept parking there. Our room was a little small for staying four nights.....its nice to have a couple of chairs instead of having to sit on the bed. However my daughters family room was enormous!
