The rooms are lovely

Lovely place to stay we had breakfast included but had not breakfast menu they turned up at our table with 3 slices of bacon. 1 slice toast. Plastic cheese (that’s what it looked and tasted like) and croissant not sure why they called this breakfast being a British pub b&b there was no choice of breakfast not even a full English breakfast which is expected.

We were very pleased with the room, especially having a superkingsized bed as that is what we are used to. Everything was very clean, and very well equipped. I liked the touch of having a lock on the bedside cabinet for valuables. We had dinner there in the evening and the quality of food exceeded my expectations, and that was also true of the breakfast the following day.

The only downside to the room would be the shower, it would benefit with a pump to make it more powerful. The room had an information folder which was useful as it also contained a copy of the dinner menu. Having decided what we would have we then found that menu was 'an old one' which was a shame.

on arrival we were welcomed to the property by Alex. nothing was to much travel and made us feel very relaxed. the bar area is fantastic with a welcome warming log fire and the quality of ales/cocktails on offer were excellent especially the Negroni 🤪 the best was yet to come as we had booked into the restaurant for the evening on recommendation from friends. the chef must be kept under lock and key so that he doesn’t get poached away to other high flying restaurants suffice to say he’s skills in the kitchen were stunning the food was some of the best I’ve had and I travel a lot. we will definitely be back very soon . a big thank you to Alex and his team.

Location good , nice room breakfast ample but could of been better I believe we were the only people having breakfast , Yong girl asked what we would like and told us but eWorld of been easier to order from written menu . But what we had was very nice

Breakfast menu

This hotel was perfect for our visit to Newmarket racecourse. Short drive away and in a superb setting. Rooms were spacious and spotless. Beds were large and comfortable. However the best thing that made our stay was one of the staff members. He was extremely friendly and always happy and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He is a very hardworking young man and a credit to the hotel. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else if we were to visit the racecourse again. Thank you

Lovely building with lots of character. Rooms are in keeping with the style of the building but are modern and the facilities were really good. the service was absolutely first class. Best place I’ve stayed in a long time.

Nothing. It was genuinely excellent.

Lovely staff, especially the chap behind the bar (cannot remember his name). The food was also lovely as we had lunch on the day we arrived and also dinner that night and breakfast the next day. Also, it was the perfect location for a visit to the Chilford Vineyard, a short walk across the fields.

the pub/hotel was lovely, rooms was big and very well maintained , hotel was in a lovely village with lots of parking, rooms had plenty of tea coffee hot chocolate drinks , biscuits, and a big super king bed

I liked everything

Very comfortable stay, homely atmosphere. Food was excellent from evening meal to breakfast & a very good choice.

Could have just done with a lick of paint in certain areas. Just a bit of a revamp.

Beautiful and charming countryside pub with excellent food. The staff were so friendly - nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are comfortable and well looked-after. Also dog-friendly. Would highly recommend
