The staff were brilliant and really helpful. My wife is recovering from a broken leg, and they allowed her some extra time in our room to get ready on checkout with no rush. Great location in centre of Newmarket. Food very tasty in the bar area, which is very comfy and relaxing

Room was a little bit small. Hotel does not do a proper breakfast, only take away, in fact there is no-one about in the morning at all. Small car park although we managed to get a space both days, others were complaining of being boxed in.

Nice, spacious room, comfortable bed. Nice in room facilities, with plenty of tea, coffee chocolate drinks available. Mini kitchenette with fridge, toaster and microwave, plates and cutlery. Really helpful and friendly staff.

Tiny car park. So full it was difficult to stop and unload bags. Keypads on every dooway require some operator skill, which I clearly lack! I struggled at the start of the evening, and by the end it took a couple of goes. Remember to take a photo of the codes! In particular the entrance keypad was badly placed (requires palm to activate it) and when I did, didn't accept code. It was only guests leaving that allowed me to get back in. Room access is via the bar which means running the gauntlet of those there to get through. Quite a challenge when crowded with a function. These are minor issues, mainly down to its legacy location where they've adapted a small property. Everybody I met bent over backwards to be helpful and welcoming.

Room was a good size. Stairs were a bit of a climb.also it’s catering for a wide range of client. There is a lot of work people using the hotel. We got there on a friday night and the music went on for a fair while.

Parking is poor at the hotel. There is a large car park behind hotel, staff will direct, but after 8am you need to pay. Probably best to by a weekly ticket. If your out past 4pm your not getting parked in the hotel car park.

This was my second time to stay at Kings Hotel and after traveling non-stop for seventeen months through six countries, I have to say this is my favourite. I stayed this time for a month and enjoyed three different rooms. Each room was unique and all rooms were immaculate and comfortable. The staff are exemplary, always making sure of comfort and providing for any needs. The best part of all is the history, realizing this was once the home of a King who would launch a succession of Monarchs, Royalty and horseracing in Newmarket!

Nothing.

Nice hotel, very modern and tidy. Rooms are very well equipped for a long stay if your a contractor like us. Just off the main high street enough so you don't hear the traffic. Beds are very comfortable.

Parking isn't the best if you're in a van. There are car parks nearby, but it's nice to be able to keep an eye on your tools and van eqch night if it's parked outside. Beer is a bit pricey, considering it's on a high street with 5/6 pubs.

Perfect location to get to and from horse racing related locations, i.e a few yards from the Museum, not far from the gallops and racecourses. Comfy bed and spacious room. Had everything you need.

Everything was great but a slight inconvenience was waiting an hour for food to be sent to the room when it was only a small side order. Appreciate the fact it was a Friday night so probably busy, but the food was still good!

The hotel and room were absolutely charming. Traveling with my husband and a teenage son and coming from the US, we weren't sure what to expect with a triple room but it was exactly as it stated. 3 twin beds, two of which we pushed together for my husband and I. Very large room for Europe which was nice. Bathroom was tiny but we'd gotten used to the small bathrooms. Luckily there was a nice vanity in the room where I could sit to fix my hair and makeup. There was no top sheet on the beds, which seems to be the norm for many European hotels and having read that ahead of time, my husband and I packed a top sheet which we used. Our room was on the 2nd floor and looked out over the parking lot and on our 2nd night we discovered, a disco as well. We slept with the windows open (mid-May) and noise from the disco patrons woke us up, but after we closed the windows and curtains, we had no issues. Apparently, Newmarket is the horseracing capital of the U.K. and there was no shortage of horse sightings. The old stables and lush green rolling fields only added to the charm of the little town, which was almost completely walkable.

The bathroom size was tiny and parking availability was less than we'd expected, but based on the location and layout, I don't think either of these items could be changed.

The front desk employees at this hotel are fantastic! There were a couple of issues with my room and they took care of it immediately. Very friendly and efficient. In my room I liked that the shower was a walk-in and the heated towel rack was wonderful. Others have complained that there was no outlet in the bathroom...you won't find that in the UK as it is not allowed.

Room Cleaning I would have liked a waste bin in the bathroom and for my room floors to have been cleaned daily, especially in the winter time. I stayed for 8 days and it was done only 1 time. Also, the bed linens should be cleaned at least once during that long of a stay. I finally had to take the bed sheets off to get them cleaned.

Location was good, we had everything we needed in our room and it was cleaned each day and we had fresh towels and biscuits etc. Staff were friendly. Enjoyed out stay. Had a nice meal and many cocktails. Lovely bar and lounge. Slept well on comfy bed. Overall we were happy and had a good stay

There were things we could have asked for and I'm sure they would have been fixed but they weren't huge issues to us so we didn't feel the need. The remote for the air conditioning was missing, the tap sometimes had an annoying drip, there was mildew around the window and outside was a rubbish filled alley of gravel. The shower started acting up on our last day. The mugs etc had visible dirt and the toaster had a bottle cap inside, fridge was turned off at wall so had to pull it out to turn it on. Duvet had stains. At first we were given a room with twin beds although we had booked a disabled double room. We were happy with the regular double we were switched too. Not much parking but we did know this beforehand so fair enough.

Stayed in Room 5 other rooms may not reflect this Interesting building, good facilities in lounge & bar, bit of a slow check in process, possibly a newish staff member. its an independent operator and as such does not have some of the slickness big operators have but i like that my money is helping an owner rather than a big chain. Room felt clean, and well equipped.

there is limited parking i felt this was not highlighted as well as it might be
