for the price, the location was right on the high street. The building itself with its high ceilings and framed portraits of the royal family showing there love of the horses, racing and Newmarket it self. Not often I go a hotel, that was cheaper than the so called budget hotels in the area and get treated like a 5 star hotel. The bed was comfortable and the en-suite was perfect. the views from my window was of the jockey training school. So got to see them training. if you love horses this is the place to stay. Breakfast service was also of a high standard and oh so nice to have a ban on using mobile phones. I would definitely recommend. Also the car park is huge a very secure.

signage. it took several trips past it a few times to find the car park (next to the post office). when I parked it wasn’t clear where the reception was, but I called and they were very helpful. So minor dislikes!

The Jockey Club Rooms being right in the centre of the town meant you could park up and travel around on foot. Breakfast was very good with attentive staff. The Accommodation Manager, Terry Lockwood, deserves special thanks for re-scheduling our booking at short notice due to a change in our dog's hospitalisation date. A stressful time was made so much easier by his actions. Also the evening accommodation manager, Andy, was a lifesaver for finding us a phone charger so we could remain in contact with the specialist vet hospital. A big thank you to both of you!

Although very handy for the town the room was right next to the main road so noisy lorries could not be avoided.

Beautiful room with a HUGE bathroom and such a peaceful location, a haven off the high street. Excellent value for money. Staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you. This is not a hotel, you are staying in a historic private club surrounded by artwork and racing memorabilia. Breakfast was good. There is no restaurant or bar but you are a few steps from the high street.

There is a dress code and we made the effort, wish they would enforce it as others didn't.

Lovely rooms in a fantastic setting, we had a view over the gardens, with the bonus of seeing some horses training in the morning. Perfect location on the high street with free parking. Loved the traditional decor of the rooms. I think when we booked,it was the best price in Newmarket, so with everything being so beautiful it was amazing value for money.

We loved our stay but there is a dress code here (we didn't realise until after we had booked). There are reminders of the dress code in the foyer and in the room. That said, we skipped breakfast just in case we were deemed "off brand" just to save anybody any awkwardness - yes, we could have packed a collared shirt and a dress, but we were only there for one night so just packed our usual attire. Breakfast ends at 9.15am though, so to be fair we'd probably have missed it anyway!

Our stay exceeded all our expectations. It is in a stunning historic building surrounded by beautiful gardens. Plenty of free parking spaces. The room and bathroom were so luxurious and spacious, looking out over a beautiful walled garden. The breakfast was delicious with a great selection of fresh and cooked options made to order. The staff are exceptional and we felt so welcome. It is in the perfect location for exploring all that Newmarket has to offer and within walking distance of the National Horse Racing Museum. We had the best time and it's incredible value for money. Thank you so much for making our stay so special, we loved everything about our trip ☺️

Can't think of anything.

Great location in centre of Newmarket and as a massive fan of horse racing it was a great experience to stay at The Jockey Club. The staff we're very attentive and friendly, nice breakfast and lovely big bedroom with very comfy bed.

The only problem we had was not being to open the windows which made the room very hot and stuffy. There was a fan provided in the room which we had to leave on 24 hours to maintain a comfortable temperature.

Ideal location for my trip. The staff were all friendly and helpful as usual, and breakfast was superb (also as usual). It is a beautiful historic building and furnished accordingly. For anybody who loves racing history there is no better place to stay in Newmarket and access to the long picture galleries and trophies etc is a bonus on your walk to and from breakfast.

I have never stayed in a single room here and it could have been said to be a little small but was more than adequate for my needs. The problem was mostly beyond the control of the hotel because I stayed during the heatwave and being an old building air conditioning was not available so the room was very warm. Having said that, two fans were already in situ when I arrived so the staff had done their utmost to make the temperature more comfortable. One little moan though was that there was no remote control for the TV and it was very difficult to turn on and off or change channels.

This is a fairly 'old fashioned' place in the nicest sense. It had a lovely 'club' feel about it. The staff were all very polite and friendly. A perfect overnight stay on route to an event. It was a large bedroom and bathroom, very well fitted out. The breakfast was substantial and tasty.

The tiniest little niggle ever - the curtains did not close properly in the middle so the light shone on our faces in the early morning. Easy to rectify I would say, but we forgot to mention it.

Lovely building with lots to appeal to anyone interested in history or horses (or both!). All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast, served with a smile. This is the second time we have stayed at the Jockey Club Rooms but unfortunately only for one night on both occasions. We really hope to return and stay longer in the future.

There were three of us, so we had two rooms. My room was on the second floor and was very hot. I appreciate it is very difficult to do anything about this in an old building but some blackout blinds would be really helpful to prevent being woken up at daybreak and also to perhaps reduce the heat first thing in the morning.

100% exceptional venue The one and only downside being low level DIN from nightclub/pub obviously near bye which created a problem dropping off to sleep till ceasing We are OAP couple so don't frequent local nightlife hence tend to retire about 9-30/10-00pm

Everything except above comment Must say have stayed several times and this was first time we have encountered the noise problems Must have been being Bank Holiday Sunday and coronation after party 🎉 celebrations
