Excellent! Location was in the suburbs, closest station is Golders Green underground (tube), then you take the (loop) bus and will leave you within 1 block from Iolanthe. Very quiet area, superb breakfast (from Full English to Specialties i.e. eggs fiorentine, etc). Our room (Ming) had a private bathroom, so that was OK for me and my mum. We stayed 3 days and arrived late on the first day due to a delayed flight (from Heathrow terminal 5, we took a train to Paddington and then called for Uber - 20 pounds), Rossy was waiting for us, very attentive, gave us slippers for in the house! A great experience and I will recommend Iolanthe to my friends! Tip: to travel from here to London, you can pay with your own (debit/credit) bank card (1 card per person). Just check-in when in the (loop) bus (for buses there's no need to check-out), and it's valid for all transports in London (tube, train, buses). You have to check-in and out when using in tube/train, and it has a top of 10 pounds per day. After that, there's no charge, however you still need to check in/out when using transport. And download the tube app, it's really very helpful!

Nada, nothing, zip, zero!

A very nice typically English furnished house. Rosy is very helpful and cordial. It was great to meet the other guests at breakfast. The breakfast is varied. Absolutely quiet area. Nice park right by the house. Walk through the park to Golders Green subway or take the small bus. Bus stop in front of the house. It's a very lovely place to be and meet interesting people from all over the world.

The staff/owner Ruby was awesome. She let me check in a little earlier than normal because of my flight's arrival time, and the breakfasts were great. I loved the location for a first stop in England. There's a massive greenspace right across the road, and it's a 15-20 minute walk to the Golders Green tube station which can get you anywhere in London.

The shared bathroom facilities were my biggest negative - it's also only a bathtub (and sink and toilet of course) and I prefer showers. And I was in the Leprechaun room which is the smallest in the house which meant I needed to store my luggage under the bed to keep things manageable.

Friendly personal service offered from date of booking to checking in and checking out. Bedroom very clean and comfortable and in-room facilities included tv/dvd, tea/coffee, chair, table, wardrobe and hand sanitiser. Shared bathroom kept very clean with discreet signage to encourage other residents to keep it that way. Located in rural Hampsted away from hustle and bustle of town so would be a great getaway for business people or couples. Accomodation provided useful directions including tube links into central London.

Very that little I didn't like, though my break was unfortunately cut short due to personal reasons. If arriving to Golders Green, West Hampstead or London by public transport, do enquire about local buses or taxis as the accommodation is located about 25 min walk away from Golders Green itself (apparently there is a shortcut through the Heath). This was quite a long way to carry my luggage, and would have meant a short commute into town but the scenery/walks are a rare treat in London postcodes.

Charming place with lots of character! The beds were wonderfully warm and cosy, and breakfast was delicious and very filling! The location is lovely, right near Hampstead Heath, so it’s very quiet at night. The heath is wonderful to wander through, though it means Iolanthe is a little far from the nearest tube station. The bathroom is shared but I never had any issues with having to wait, I think the fact that you schedule your breakfast time the night before helps with staggering people using the bathroom in the morning.

The showering situation is a bit tricky, there is only a bath with a handheld shower head and as the house is very old you have to be careful not to get water on the floor. It’s manageable but a little tricky at first.

nice and cozy British interior location outside the busy city center in quiet neighbourhood a lot of choices for breakfast and very tasty

thin walls so you wake up if another guest takes a shower from the noise of the water running or is stepping in the room above you, but this did not disturb us too much

Host was lovely with a very homely atmosphere. Very nice breakfast. Host was happy to help out with information and advice about our travels around London and gave us a lift when she was going out.

Our room very small with the double bed against the wall restricting access in the night.

I would agree with all the positive ratings and reviews I read upon choosing the place. If someone is into authenthic British culture, than this old-world-charm b'n'b is a place to go. The owner, Rosy, is the kindest human being. All about the house is British to the core. Including (not working) fire places in the bedrooms, authentic architectural details and joinery, water bottles, kettles, slippers and thick down duvets. The house is full of books, pictures and knick-knacks . As a guest you feel as if the owner entrusted their own house to you. To me, the most valuable thing was to have breakfast with other guests gathered around one big (and very nicely laid) table. Although the house rule is to start breakfasts at slightly different timeslots for different rooms, so as to help the lovely housekeeper Sitti to prepare the meals on an ongoing basis, most of the guests stay at the table a little longer to chat. The warm, homey breakfast and the friendly conversations over a cup of tea afterwards are a great kick-start of a busy day in London. Thank you, Rosy and Sitty, for the lovely stay!

This is rather an unfortunate coincidence, rather than an issue, but the room teperature dropped to 14 degrees Celsius during the first night of my stay and as guests we had no way to turn on the heating. To be fair it was mid-October and temperatures were dropping fast, especially 24h before I arrived. Next morning me and other guests asked to turn on the heating and the rooms were lovely warm when we came back from the city on the evening.

The breakfast was lovely. It came in hot when we required it. The location of the property was great. We walked across the heath each morning to get to Golders Green tube station. There was a "hopper bus" for when we came back later in the evening. There was also parking for the hire car outside on the road. Rosie (the owner) and Siti (the housekeeper) were great hosts.

I prefer a shower and the bathroom we shared only had a roll top bath with a handheld shower. Next time I would stay in a smaller room with an enuite shower. These were not available when I booked.

A beautiful B&B in a great location on the northern edge of Hampstead Heath, run by a very friendly and dedicated owner. Nice room with everything you (we) need. Great breakfast, with a very clever system of selecting a time slot and items on the menu the evening before. Comfortable beds, hot shower. Bus to Golders Green tube station close by, alternatively a pleasant 1.5 km walk there along the heath and the quiet neighbourhood.

Can't think of anything.
