Heatherbank Guest House

The room and the ensuite bathroom were clean. I was travelling with a child as her guardian, and she needed the heating on. Although it was too early in the year to turn the heating on, the person in charge helped to put the heating on and brought us an extra blanket. She was very helpful in this respect.

After the first night, we asked the room service not to come in because the child who was with me was ill and needed to rest. We said that the room did not need any cleaning and we just needed fresh cups, but we were told that we should either wash our cups or vacate the room for cleaning, and it was not possible for them to get the dirty cups at the door and give us clean cups. This was very strange and I didn't really like the attitude. Also, we wanted to check out, there was no one at the reception, so I had to video record myself leaving the key at the reception desk just in case. I can, however, understand that these things may happen in small guest houses.

We had an awesome room, which was more like an apartment. It had two bed rooms, one with three beds for our three kids and one for my wife and I. It had two bathrooms with two showers. It had a kitchen that had everything, so we could cook on our own. It also had a washing machine, which really helped with a 8 day stay for a family. All the rooms were cleaned each day.

Just one small thing, we did not have a place inside the apartment to dry the laundry. There was not a dryer or a portable drying stand that we could find, so we hanged them around the apartment. However, we also did not inquire if they had one, so it could be our problem too.

Cleanliness, friendly staff, quiet area no noise, free parking, guesthouse near the tube station, comfortable beds, fridge in the bedroom!!! Kettle tea,milk,coffee, and biscuits. The garden is very nice!

The shower system is not so easy to use. More hangers in the wardrobe would be great. The breakfast is free so it's basic but still good. No take away for breakfast and available later than usual on the weekend.

My double room was large and very comfortable. I was greeted by the loveliest receptionist who arranged an early check in for me. Continental breakfast was included with the room (not an extra £10 as I had thought it would be). The hotel is in a nice area, minutes walk from the tube station and a large Sainsbury’s grocery shop.

The only thing I would add to the room would be blackout curtains or blinds. The existing blinds let in a lot of light in the early morning.

Staff communication was excellent. Room comfortable and met expectations. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Location excellent for walking to restaurants. Parking perfect- right in front of guest house. Easy to fine. We felt safe staying there. I left my glasses behind and Jackie kindly posted them to be afterwards - fantastic customer service!

Maybe another once over in the bathroom would be good as we found hair from the previous guest in the shower base but apart from the hair everything clean.

Very convenient for public transport. Lovely big room with a good size bathroom. Impressed by the amount of storage in the bathroom. A fridge was an unexpected but welcome surprise as well as anadditionall portable heater. The bed was comfortable too.

The small lights by the bed didn't work - not sure if they were supposed to, but it would have been nice.

The place was exceptionally clean. Room was big with TV, fan, heater, lamps, kettle, tea and coffee with complimentary biscoffee biscuits. The little milk pots were in a fridge located in the wardrobe. Soap, shampoo, shower gel, 2 loo rolls.

Nothing we didn't like. If we had to say anything it would be that maybe a little updating would make it even better. For the price and location and above all - the cleanliness- we were very happy.

Very clean, especially the en suite bathroom. Great location with tube station at the end of the street and buses a couple of minutes walk away. We accidentally left a much loved bear behind and the staff kept it safe for us until we were able to make arrangements to get it home!

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

The location was very good and not too far from central London. We went to a gig at Alexandra Palace and it was so easy to get there and back. We were also able to go into the city on the tube and it was a quick and easy journey. The room was very spacious and comfortable and very clean. The shower was very powerful and although we were located at the front of the house, we didn’t hear anything from the road or other guests. There was a great selection at breakfast and the staff were very helpful and attentive for all our needs. Overall, it was a great stay and the area was easy to get to

Nothing! Maybe some veggie or vegan options at breakfast?

Excellent location near a tube station so able to get into the centre of London very easily. Friendly staff. Free parking available 24 hours just outside the property. Clean rooms well kitted out with mini fridge, fan and hairdryer. Hot water always available and complimentary toiletries provided. Coffee and tea making facilities provided. Very near to the main high street with lots of choice for eating in restaurants and cafes. Quiet road so no traffic noise. Excellent value for money. Free wifi was available. We decided not to have breakfast there but we were given the option.

The shower was a little underpowered but not a major issue. We could hear people walking about in the room above but we expect that in a town house. No 24 hour reception but that was not a problem for us as our queries were answered during the daytime.
