The Crown Hotel Bawtry-Doncaster

We were in the area to attend the races and this hotel was in a perfect location. We were able to drop our bags with the very friendly staff who then helped us to call a taxi to the races. On our return our bags had been taken to our rooms which were a little basic but very spacious and spotlessly clean. We didn’t eat at the hotel as it wasn’t clear when or how the breakfast was served and we were keen to get back home. The area around the hotel has some lovely little pubs and restaurants and we highly recommend the Italian which is on the same row.

Rooms were very clean and spacious, the food at the wedding was exceptional! The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to assist, especially when we had to move our car as the public carpark at the front only let us stay for 6 or 8 hours and then we had to move

I was disappointed with the breakfast, we were a table of 8 or 9, although we ordered in pairs, my partner had her breakfast and finished it, i asked where mine was and then a member of the staff came over and said they had forgotten my order and could i order again, i think it was about an hour from sitting to eating and on arrival it was undercooked and inedible.

The hotel was fantastic, we were upgraded to and executive room and a bottle of Prosecco was awaiting us in the room which was a lovely surprise. We never heard any noise from other rooms which is very rare when you stay in hotels. The room was lovely and spacious, clean and modern. We enjoyed food in the restaurant and cocktails. The location is spot on and we have loved our stay this weekend. Would definitely come again.

The hotel kindly upgraded us to an executive room for our wedding anniversary. The room was excellent, very cosy, extremely comfortable, especially the sunken bed and we enjoyed having the lounge seating area. The complementary hamper of goodies was a nice touch. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant in the evening and the breakfast was one of the best we’ve had from an hotel. All staff service was superb, professional and friendly. Hope to stay here again in the future.

I had read a few reviews on Trip Advisor suggesting the decor was tired, in particular the corridors. We saw that the textured wallpaper had been damaged in an area of the corridor and stairwell by customer luggage, but this was only circulating space and we found the bedroom, bathroom, restaurant and bar areas were nicely designed to a good finish, with some nice quirky touches.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and of a good size. The breakfast was delicious.

The shower had cracked tiles on the floor and was definitely in need of repair. Internal lights not working on the step to the bed. Causing me to trip when using the bathroom during the night. No one assisted with taking luggage to our room which was two flights of stairs. We were located in an executive room and I honestly expect better standards for the price I paid.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and of a good size. Clear instructions of hotel facilities and prices were provided per the room.

The room temperature was too hot throughout my stay. There were no room thermostat controls to allow temperature control. Noisy guests in corridor outside room.

Room was ok, nicely decorated and clean. Bed was comfortable.

Door lock was hard to open and needs replacing. Shower head was very basic and needs descaling. Breakfast was bad, asked for no mushrooms and a soft poached egg and then got mushrooms, got another breakfast delivered and the egg was so dry and not soft I asked for a refund as by that time had waited too long and had to leave.

Restaurant was very, food was great and price was reasonable and great service.

Not enough seats in the bar area, which ment going back to room early. Parking wasn’t great, the price for the room was very high for what you got. We thought breakfast was included in the price.

I was in Bawtry to help look after grandchildren over the time of a house move. the staff were amazing with the children - even giving them fruit to take to school.

because of Covid hotels seem to have stopped servicing rooms - I was at the hotel for a week and didn’t get my bed made.

Location was perfect for the party attending.

Shower in room needs updating. Paying for parking when in crown carpark. Price of drinks. Carpets, floors need either updating or a good clean in public areas or leading up to rooms. Generally needs TLC.
