Hunters Meet

From the moment I arrived I was impressed by the professionalism and welcoming nature of all the staff. I stayed for four nights and the rapport developed very quickly between us. We had a real laugh one evening with plenty of good humoured banter and I felt really at home. The food was absolutely amazing and an outdoor barbecue was held on the Wednesday night with everything perfectly cooked. My room was really comfortable and I managed to secure the double bed suite for all four nights and had a cream tea served in the conservatory one afternoon, most civilised. The adjoining gym and spa were also very well appointed. I had a swim in the pool which also has an integrated jacuzzi in one corner and I was the only person in there, sublime. I could continue with a full essay on how much impressed me about Hunters Meet but the best way is to go there and find out first hand. You will not be disappointed. I will be staying again forsaking anywhere else. My Google reviews have over 100,000 views so people do find my comments useful. 10 out of 10 to Brendan and all the staff.

One very minor point, the coffee sachets were not topped up one day and I didn't notice until the morning. No great drama because I always carry a couple of spares in my suitcase.

We were pleasantly surprised by the amenities, such as the gym, heated swimming pool, spa and the option to use the restaurant. The room was tidy and in our twin room there was still space to move around. We also enjoyed the location being close to some shops and it wasn't that far off from the high way. We used this as a halfway stop while we were on our way to the next location. Safe and free parking available is a plus. We were able to check in late and check out early without any issues.

Depending on your preference, the beds are quite firm so could be uncomfortable, however the bedding was snug and clean. The shower had hot water, but the water pressure wasn't that great. Still, we were clean and warm after!

The room was beautifully decorated, comfortable bed and the leisure facilities were a wonderful addition. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful - every member of staff seemed very happy, like coming to work wasn't the worst thing in the world. A rare thing in hospitality but made the whole place feel warm! I was originally anxious that the party night happening in the function room was going to ruin my night away from the kids. But the function room is on the other side of hotel and I couldn't hear a peep!

The bathroom in my room was a bit on the small side with a small single shower cubicle. Not the end of the world and fine for me - my 6ft 4 husband may have struggled though.

The room was clean & comfortable,the facilities were great and the staff friendly and accommodating. This place is a real hidden gem & we can't wait to go back for one of the event nights. They have entertainment on a weekend,and the event nights,which includes a 4 course meal with entertainment such as, a Robbie Williams tribute,Irish night & comedy evenings amongst others. The garden is pretty,with plenty of outside seating,and the pool,sauna,steam room and gym are a must when staying here which is all in the price of the room. Brendan and staff were great & breakfast was lovely.

I found breakfast time was a bit early for me.7-9 am.

The room was spacious and warm on arrival. Shower was lovely and hot with fresh towels and toiletries provided. The staff couldn't of been more friendly if they tried. Such a homely feeling - very impressed. Breakfast was good.

Mould on the ceilings. One of the beds was very squeaky! The tap in the bathroom could do with some oil...all three of us got an extra wash when we tried to use it.

such a warm welcome , all staff very friendly and helpful they genuinely want you to have a good experience . Our room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom and I have never seen such pristine bed linen . Breakfast is cooked to order so much nicer than a lukewarm Buffett set up, a variety of choices which were presented well, cooked to perfection and totally delicious . This family run hotel is a little gem and we hope to return later this year

The host and staff members were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, tidy and bright with tea and coffee facilities available. The bed was extremely comfortable. The meals were excellent, I would definitely recommend the lamb. And the garden was beautiful and relaxing. The leisure centre had a lovely spa pool which was very relaxing and refreshing. I totally enjoyed my stay at Hunters Meet and will stay there again. Thank You.

The staff were very accommodating, we didn't arrive until gone midnight as we got to Stansted on a late flight so they left out instructions and keys to get to the room. The next day they also let us use the spa facilities after we'd checked out. Also we had lunch in the restaurant which was DELICIOUS!

Only down point was that if you're on the ground floor the sound comes through the ceiling a lot! I woke up about 6:30 and I guess the people upstairs were leaving as it was really loud.

I've stayed here a number of times now and the 2 biggest stand outs have been the staff and the food. In my opinion the staff make this hotel what it is. They are extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. On top of that, the food has been very good on every visit, with a good range of choice and good quality. The rooms are all of a good size, clean and very comfortable to stay in.

The only real downsides I have are the showers (in some rooms only) and the size of the TVs in all the rooms. I've stayed on multiple occasions so far and I've had showers on two visits that simply didn't have any temperature control, they were either scalding hot or boiling hot. I did raise these concerns on checkout so I imagine this will have been dealt with by now. My other issue is the TV size, as someone travelling on my own for work I enjoy being able to wind down at the end of the day and having a TV that you simply can't see while sat on the bed isn't great. Not the end of the world by any means, but something that I appreciate in hotel.

Had a lovely break for hen do, room was nice clean and comfortable, spa area although small was nice as we had it all to ourselves, meal for evening, salmon main was beautifully cooked, dessert was good too, singer was a little bit cabaret at first but got better, shame we couldn't book bingo brunch as that looked like great fun, we all had a lovely stay and buffet breakfast was good and had a good selection.

Prawn starter was bit rubbery and the remainder of the food bill they wanted the next morning before we checked out and quite a few people had already gone home the night before which meant we had to ring round and get them to put money into our account which wasn't ideal, they should in future collect payment on the night before the meal then at least it's all settled.
