Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club

We got married here in 2011 so have very fond memories. there have been some refurbishments. some staff have returned post Covid and they add a lot to the customer service experience.

it’s definitely not the best value location locally, we will return for sentimental reasons but with so many other good options locally, maybe annually.

We loved the spa and the facilities, the size and cleanliness of the room, the staff and service were also both fantastic, and the manor grounds are absolutely amazing. Breakfast was good and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! I would definitely recommend it if youre looking for a nice wind down or golf trip in the countryside.

We were not told about the fire alarm test on Mondays at 11am! My partner and I were literally shocked out of bed, as an unexpected alarm suddenly blasted through our bedroom. It was extremely startling and had the potential to ruin our day if we allowed it to (which we didnt of course). Not a major issue but had we been informed of this beforehand it wouldnt have been such a surprise haha! All things considered, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

Room was phenomenal, bath was a great size enough for two! Lots of space in the junior suite

The bed was two mattresses together to look big... Food was pricy considering it was £29 for a steak and you had to pay extra for chips and sauce, same with the chicken too

1. The location is convenient, the grounds are gorgeous. 2. The staff are classy, smiling but not pretentious, helpful. 3. The room is large 4. The bed is INSANELY comfortable. I did not want to leave this bed 5. The pool water is so warm, no shock to the system at all. Absolutely delicious for my purposes. If i was training, I'd want it much colder. But this is supposed to be a time of relaxation. Warm water works well. 6. The jacuzzi 😍 the way it drains means no disgusting frothy foam filled with other people's germs. When i build my jacuzzi, it will be just like this one 7. Giant chess! 8. Delicious breakfast, delicious wine (i had pinot noir), delicious chips with little screw bottles of ketchup. 9. Grand decor. Though i prefer modern (marble, acrylic pianos, led lights, etc) the decor here wasn't dark and gloomy even with all the wood 10. The Spa. Can bed booked separately without going to hotel. Booking this in future

I'm reaching to find something I'd change. 1. Drinks are bit pricey? 2. Oh i know! So an idea i had, is that they could number the car parking spaces and hook them all up to an app that will tell you where you parked your bloody car. Wandering around in the rain with suitcase and bags is not the one.

It is in a great location and very scenic. Wonderful stuff and great facilities. overall very pleasant short stay.

Everything was generally great. The only down side I can think of was dinner food quality, not to the quality I was expecting. Breakfast was wonderful and had lots of choices.

The hotel and grounds are absolutely beautiful. I cannot comment on the golf side of things as I don't play golf. The pool is ideal for both families and those who have a more serious side to their swimming/ exercise. Our room was spacious and clean with the most comfortable mattress ever. The quality of the breakfast was second to none and evening meals of a high standard also. The staff were always available to help with a smile upon their faces. As for location, a short drive (taxi) into the small town of Ware delivered us to the train station with a direct link to the centre of London. A short enough journey so that an evening show can be taken in and you can still be back at the hotel before midnight. From the roaring fire in the Cast Iron Bar and Grill to the tranquility of the walled garden you will not be disappointed.

The Hotel and grounds were very beautiful. The staff were exceptional, very friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. The breakfast was fantastic and had the best selection I have ever seen. The pool and facilities were very clean and had a very relaxing feel.

I was disappointed with the lunch and evening menus. We had a vegetarian and vegan in our party and the menus lacked in any choices. We eneded up in the sports bar as there was nothing in the restaurant. Unfortunately the sports bar only had 'fast food' options. Very disappointing considering its an expensive hotel and the menus online which I saw beforehand had more options than actually offered. Even the meat eater in the party said it was a limited menu. The bedrooms could do with a little updating to match the rest of the hotel which is kept meticulous.

Our room was really spacious, with what must have been a super king sized bed. It had the feel of an old manor house, and although some of the furniture was a little tired it was very clean. I used the swimming pool a couple of times, it did get a little busy, but there is a section for lane swimming. The staff were really friendly, helpful and patient. The breakfasts were excellent, great choice of food and just the right amount of attention from the waiting staff. The grounds are lovely, worth having a gentle stroll around.

Food and drinks a the hotel seemed a little pricey, so factor that in. We didn't have our own car (we were staying to attend a wedding nearby) I would suggest you book your taxi a day in advance if you need one, as we had trouble getting one back to the hotel after our function. Uber London cover this area.

Service at Hanbury is second to none. I cannot fault the staff across the business and this is Hanbury’s strength. They supersede other 4* and some 5* establishments. We found them courteous, informative and incredibly accommodating across the board. So thank you. Breakfast is exemplary. Room service very good. Standard of food excellent. Kitchen was very accommodating to special dietary requirements: one of us was coeliac and on medical FODMAP which means no garlic, onions, gluten or dairy which is not easy to navigate outside the home but the kitchen and Chef get A* from us.

There are areas that need updating but I can see from my last visit this is already under way. We came primarily to relax and rest and it was disappointing that the steam room in the ladies area was out of use 3 days in a row. Foods for people with coeliac etc should be kept separate from foods containing gluten. Preferably a separate food station and toaster at breakfast or prepped in kitchen as even the slightest cross-contamination can make someone very ill. The label for the gluten free bread was not clearly visibly (as it had been knocked over) and therefore easily confused for other gluten breads.

The room was really comfortable and spacious for the 3 of us. Had everything we needed. The staff were all very friendly and the service was excellent. Christmas morning there were 3 Christmas stockings hanging on our door. That was a lovely surprise to receive. The meals were really good especially the buffet breakfast with the self-service pancake maker.

I didn't like the location of our room only due to the distance we had to walk from the lobby and restaurant. It was due to the size of the room we had booked so understandable.
