We had a flight out of Stansted airport next morning, so we were not able to stay for breakfast, nor to spend any time in the village or the pub. We did have one pint in the pub and there was a good selection of drink. We dined at a nearby restaurant, the Lower Street Brasserie, which had great fare. All in all, a good choice for our itinerary.

The pub closed at 10, which we supposed was good as far as guests (including us) getting a good night's sleep.

We stayed here for only one night due to a flight cancellation. The staff were so accommodating, kind and welcoming towards us at a pretty stressful time - in particular Corey who done everything he could to make our stay as fab as possible. We also had the joy of meeting the landlords of the rooms who were so lovely and chatty also. The hotel is in such a lovely location in a great village outside London. The food and wine was exceptional and a really lovely place to sit in the sun in the garden.

The room was very warm during the night and the shower was cold in the morning and could not get it to become any warmer

Food was good, but not exceptionally good. Room and bed were spacious - didn't feel cramped in any way. Ambience pleasing and comfortable. Plenty of good spotless towels, bathrobes and pillows. The old-style building is beautiful, and it's conveniently situated very near the railway station (for easy acces to the airport or to central London).

We liked everything about the hotel, but the narrow stairs and the absence of a lift can make it a little difficult to get your heavy luggage up and down to your room. We could have done with more shelf space and hanging devices (hooks, etc) in the bathroom (this is a common defect in most hotel bathrooms).

All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We were asked many times if they could be of any help, and we had very short waits to be served all the way through our trip. Having a separate access to the room was also very helpful. We had to leave early, and it was very good not having to disturb anyone, as we had settled the account in advance.

We were a little saddened that breakfast (other than little boxes of cereals in the room) wasn’t available. However, this enabled us to find a lovely cafe up the road called the Bear and Eden, who did wonderful cooked breakfasts.

Charming Inn with a neat, comfortable room and very helpful, friendly staff. It's nice to have a pub attached and it's clear that the pub is a gathering spot for locals, which is quite nice. While it's quite a hike to get into the heart of London, the Inn is mere steps from the train station and only one train stop away from Stansted airport. The Stansted Express goes directly Liverpool station, so while it might take a little time, it's quite easy

Nothing to dislike except distance from the city, but that might be a plus to some.

really great facilities for a local pub hotel. The room was in great condition, clean and comfortable. I would definitely book it again for an event in the area. There were snacks, tea, water, cereal and milk provided.

the staff at the pub seemed slightly overwhelmed and could have been friendlier. the check in process succeeded at the pub which could have been more straight forward. otherwise very nice overall stay!!

Phenomenal staff. Really helpful, and they were nothing but accommodating, giving us information about the best local places to eat, drink, visit. Comfy bed, clean sheets. We ate there twice, a main meal and breakfast. Both times the meals were great pub food.

My singular issue was a broken seal on the shower head holder, made showering slightly awkward. Otherwise, see above.

Breakfast was good. I’m not sure if it was included in the price, but I paid for it. I just walked down the stairs into the restaurant. I also left early the following morning for the airport. The hotel is a minute walk from the train station. Showed convenient

The bed was comfortable enough, the room was quite tiny with no tub. But it was clean and pleasant. There were bigger rooms with tubs, you just have to request one, I stupidly didn’t.

Large, clean, comfortable room with lots of thoughtful added touches such as dressing gown & slippers, iron & ironing board, hairdryer, toiletries, nice coffee bags & cereal and milk for breakfast in case of an early departure. The staff were very welcoming .

Our room ( no 1) was a bit noisy first thing in the morning due to overlooking the high street

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room - had everything I needed for a night. Very high standard of accommodation and a nice pub downstairs with a good selection of beers!

Was a little bit noisy by the road but didn't stop me having a good night sleep. Cooked breakfast isn't available until 10am when the pub opens but they had cereal in the room, but didn't have milk!
