Jolly Brewers Free House Inn

Location is excellent close to cafe/restaurants, leisure activities & for us family. For the price the room is very good value for money & free wifi! The staff are incredibly aproachable & helpful. Highly reccomended though I wish to keep this liitle gem for myself!

Wish we could have stayed longer!

Room 6: 2 twin beds with plenty of room for my Mum who is very disabled. For those who can manage it, their is a bath in the large bathroom. Wardrobe & drawers in room. Complimentary tea & coffee which is refilled upon request at no extra cost. Free parking & parking a "must have". Staff friendly & very helpful. Room spotless! Highly recommended & will most definately use again. Thank you Jolly Brewers from the bottom of my heart :)

That we couldn't stay any longer!

Very comfortable rooms. Own door entrance. Hot shower, comfortable bed. Easy walk to town centre. Pub very nice, a good ' old fashion' type pub. Landlord very friendly and helpful. Pub does not do breakfast, but the landlord pointed us in the direction of a cafe that does the best cooked breakfast ever. As rooms are adjacent to the pub, could not hear any noise from pub. Can park car outside rooms. Would definitely stay again.

The only thing I would say, it is on a busy main road, and you could hear the traffic going by. That didn't really bother me, I am just saying for people who might find that difficult.

Bishop Stotford had a load of places to eat and drink with the atmosphere that is lacking from the sterile airports next to the airport. We had an early flights, 10mins drive in the morn to get the airport parking, overall saved £40 for the parking hotel options at the airport and didn't find I lost anytime? Friendly local next door. Car was parked outside the room, which made it really easy to get up and out for our early flight!

I was fine with it all tbh, but not everyone will like the fact the room is a motel style set up, so you can hear the road as it is literally outside. I have earplugs and slept like a baby.

Great communication with the venue asking if we wanted a double or twin room...no preferences as a bed to us is a bed for a night....very friendly landlord at the pub when we checked In without leaving our stuff...on our way to a wedding venue...hassle free...code 4 our door and codes for free wi fi. Bed super comfy...everything u needed in the room ie wardrobe side tables..toiletries..a fan...kettle..so impressed...even my favourite biscoff biscuits for coffee on the hospitality tray..Great touches.

Very helpful staff. Kindly let me stay another night due to storm Eunice which saved me from driving home when all travellers were warned to stay home. I had a lovely extra day exploring nearbly and not having to work! Lots to see. Slept really well considering I don't normally sleep well away, especially on first night! Close to shops and parking was easy with my car right outside my door. It suited my needs perfectly, although I wish they served food! (They should as it seems a popular watering hole). Lovely Chippie just 4mins walk away, famous peri peri chicken 8 minutes and really good service from both.

Minor only - food is advertised on Facebook but they do not serve food so had to go out each day after a long day of work. Luckily there are loads of places to eat within 10 minute walk and I could have easily ordered a takeaway if I wished.

Deliberately selected this place, purely on location, in order to attend the Bish Bash music festival at The Castle, close by. Literally 10 mins equidistant to the event and Town Centre. A locals pub with modern accomodation adjacent. A riverside Wetherspoons is close by, with a gem of a delicious Greek Bakery next to that. Perfectly adequate rooms and friendly, helpful staff, who came to my rescue with a phone charger , after I forgot mine. Having stayed out of town and travelled in daily in previous years this place is ideal and I'll use again in coming years.

I was fine,but if you're a light sleeper you might find the road noise from its kerbside location intrusive and/or irritating. Min spend on cards is £10 in the bar

it was exactly as described - small, clean and functional and a decent telly with the bonus it was connected to a nice local boozer. Maybe 10 mins walk to the swankier parts of town. Great value. Hard to criticise but as someone else noted it ain’t the Ritz! Barmaid was really nice and helpful. If she recommends the PopIn cafe down the road for brekkie then take her advice. I did - it’s great

nothing serious but doesn’t do food. need a strong grip to get the shower to your liking in room 1. 1000 check out bit of a pain but not the end of the world. Probably worth making sure you have a parking space made available but they’re v flexible

Perfect location: a short walk to the railway station and town centre for shops, plenty of cafes and restaurants close by, bus to and from Stansted Airport stops 50 metres away, we were sent the four digital code for our room the night before, so we could settle in on arrival even though the pub was shut.

My wife had a bit of trouble with the shower controls which were a bit stiff: otherwise fine.

Used the hotel for a stayover before getting an early flight out of Stansted airport. Hotel walking distance to Bishops stortford Train station so location was briliant. Room was clean and tidy and bed was comfortable. Staff were accomodating and friendly and parking was £4 per night/day when we left the car there. Does exactly what it says on the Tin !!!
