Botany Bay Hotel

I liked everything, there is nothing at all negative I could say about the hotel, facilities, food; location and especially the Staff. On arrival I was given a free upgrade from my previous room. Both rooms were comfortable, clean and had everything I required and more. Although I brought my own toiletries there was high quality items provided. Towels were large and soft with also dressing gown if required. Only difficulty encountered was with the Wifi as I was unable to get a reception. The location is amazing overlooking the sea with walkways near by. There was an excellent choice of food both at breakfast and for dinner. Food is fresh and locally sourced.

I was unable to access Wifi from my room.

Lovely location with fabulous views and walks Great for visiting local area and as a base for going further afield. The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was a trouble from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out. A very extensive Breakfast menu to cover anyone's taste. A good lunch menu too, although we didn't need it, however we found the dinner menu quite restricted but what we did have was nice. Tastefully decorated rooms and comfortable beds. Would recommend to anyone. Note; dog owners delight!

We just had a couple of niggles. No fridge in room but a flask of milk is provided at reception, the TV channels in the room were a bit strange, not that we watched much!, and the WiFi reception was hitty missy.

I loved this gem of a location, it was so special. The hotel is an amazing venue, the room was beautiful and the views were unspeakably stunning. The hotel is as strong a restaurant as it is a location. Botany bay is peaceful and remote. The walk in to town is about 50 mins each way, or 15 mins drive, definitely worth a venture for longer visits as the restaurant/bar/coffee shops are vast and eclectic. We had the pleasure of visiting during the annual folk music festival and thoroughly enjoyed musical entertainment everywhere. The people who work their, care about you and your stay.

The expensive Dyson cooling unit did nothing for room temp and it was very warm (but amazing for beach visit and cliff walks). But the only real down side, but so insignificant compared to all the positives.

Great, friendly and very attentive staff. Amazing location next to Botany Bay and short walk to Kingsgate Bay. Great breakfast included. You can get alternative milks for your room. They will refill water and keep things in the fridge. Restaurant and bar are nice too! Staff are really accommodating and sort out any issues or needs quickly. Hotel has a nice relaxing vibe

Our 2nd floor room faced the back where the bins are kept and it was noisy at night (bar bottles/ staff cleaning end of the night/ bins collected in the morning etc). Being from london I found it noisy but it was a noise I'm used too. The car pack (right outside hotel) is used by people all day. It's so busy to cross from beach to hotel with a young child you have to be very vigilant.

Beautiful location, nice spacious rooms with nice touches and comfortable beds.

The receptionist was efficient but did not seem to make much effort to make us feel welcomed. We didn't get clear instructions about how to get in after pub close and so we tried to access the wrong 'night entrance' as we didn't know another way in. We couldn't get in as our key was not for the door we knew about. Unfortunately too, we visited on one of the hottest days of the year and although a fan was provided in the room we didn't get much sleep as we could not have the window open overnight since someone was sat out on the roof by our window smoking and it made us feel unsafe and the smoke was drifting into the room. Unsure if this was a hotel guest or not.

We had the family room, double and 2 singles. Lounge area with tv. Big bathroom double sink. Breakfast room with freshly cooked breakfast or eggs and muffins or pancakes lots of choice. Cereal choice and toast, fruit and juices. Tea and coffee all included with our booking. 5 minute walk to the beach literally opposite the hotel, around 30 steps down to the beach, sandy beach with rock pools and we saw some starfish and crabs. Reception ladies really helpful and lovely to chat too. Lovely cleaner who topped up all our refreshments everyday. Nice outdoor seating area for the bar, looking out to the sea.

The double bed was comfy but a bit lopsided felt like i was going to roll out. The bar was a bit busy took a little while to order drinks and food but it was lovely food.

Breakfast good .But unclear on menu exactly what you could have. Needs to be re written . Staff had to explain to guests what combination was allowed and what wasn't included. Small point, but needs addressing View from room excellent. Staff generally pleasant. Everything worked in the room. Lovely sea view. Car parking no problem. Good could leave car till 12 on day of departure

Breakfast menu unclear as stated above Booked dinner but took staff a long time to serve us. Took a long time even to bring a drink. Had to remind them Overall very good. Just these 2 points to address

Our double room was superb with balcony looking out to sea (unfortunately it was raining so we couldn't sit out on it but it would have been lovely). Very comfortable bed and everything we needed. All the staff we came across were, without exception, cheerful, very pleasant and helpful. Our family shared a family room for four and this, though without quite so many goodies as our superior double was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was cooked very nicely.

If I had to come up with anything, I would suggest perhaps a nice fruit salad and maybe some yoghurt on the breakfast buffet. There wasn't a lounge as such to sit in but were areas with tables where one could have a drink or coffee etc. We realise that it wasn't the kind of hotel to have a lounge with comfortable chairs and hadn't expected that, but I guess it would be rather nice in one of the public areas.

Our room 601 was at the top of the hotel with a glass turret providing excellent views. It is very spacious for 2 adults, probably less so with 4 people. Breakfasts were great; and Botany Bay provides a sandy beach, 2-3 miles walking distance from 2 large resorts, Broadstairs and Margate.

The room is relatively expensive for 2 adults. It is located at the top of narrow stairs so care needed going up and down, particularly when carrying bags. Wifi was intermittent during our stay and TV channels very limited.

I know the location very well, and it’s perfect with a sea view. An older building that has been upgraded but with some restrictions. The breakfast is very good with a lot of choice and served in a good conservatory. Our room was good on first floor with a sea view and a balcony. The addition tea, coffee, bottled water etc were much appreciated and residents parking was a bonus.

Due to the age of the original building the en-suite was a bit cramped but for only a short break we managed ok and were grateful the the walk in shower.
