Quirky, quaint and an absolute gem of a place to stay. The courtyard with its plants, pond and gentle waterfall, artwork on the walls and all the bunting and lights make for a really relaxing place to sit and enjoy the the atmosphere and experience that is The Beetroot. My room was clean, well presented and had all that I needed in it; including a proper teapot and selection of loose teas, something I haven’t seen before, but really appreciated. As for the bed, that too was very comfortable- and this from someone who often finds it hard to settle and sleep in a different bed, but sleep I did and very well. Right in the heart of the old town it’s perfectly located for all the amenities, while the courtyard provides a quiet and relaxing refuge on return. Paul, the owner and host is all you could want; friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and has an ‘eye’ for all kinds of little things and touches that go to make this a special place to stay. I will most definitely be returning here.

There was nothing I didn’t dislike.

The garden apartment was huge, it provided a kitchen, coffee machine and tea provided (unusual tea leaf preparations also offered), sofa and coffee table, luxury bathroom with walk-in shower, underfloor heating throughout, gigantic TV with all the channels I think!! Original juke box.. use of garden/patio, cactus city, unusual paintings throughout, city centre location - couldn’t get closer! Car park options to suit all, owner Paul the most helpful, pleasant and a delight to talk to, host ever! we’ll be back!!

Nothing and I have high expectations!!

Clean - central with it bring in the old town but very quiet and relaxing! Courtyard beautiful decor- and plants- pond with water feature- Shower was amazing - as was coffee pod machine - Easy to find Paul ( just) so helpful and welcoming

I gave mobility issues and I didn’t think to ask whether this was going to present a problem- only ten steps down to lower level but I struggled to get down ( getting up was easier due to the scaffoldedesq structure if the stairwell But by day two I needed additional painkillers - I forget I have limitations but next tine I’d mention this as the other studio all on one level

Paul, the owner was there to meet us and charming, even though we were an hour later than I said we would be. The hotel is gated and you need to be let in to start with into a cosy courtyard with a couple of tables and seating, a fishpond and lovely plants. Our room was a good size and clean and tidy. The bed was really comfortable and there was a brilliant selection of different teas in the room. The hotel is bang in the middle of the old part of Margate and has really easy access to the beach, Turner Contemporary, caves, pubs and restaurants. We were there on a Monday night and while walking back to the hotel in the evening stumbled across the most amazing jazz session in The Lifeboat, a pub just around the corner. First time in Margate but would love to go back.

From beautiful patio with art on the walls, lights, colourful bounting, plants, and fountain with beautiful fishes. Everything in the pictures is how you will see it! Lovely idea in the heart of Margate as the location is just so perfect of this hotel. We loved that Paul, the owner, truly supports the local community. We discovered new Tea Lychee Grey from Chai Wallah Margate, which Paul kindly placed in the room for his guests. The mattress is high-class comfort. Back in London, we had loud neighbours, but at Beetroot, we slept like babies. The little touch of Margate Rock candy also made this trip special because who does not like sweeties on holidays.

Perfect location, easy walk to all old town amenities. Great host. BEST SHOWER. A lot of love and attention has clearly gone into the design of the room. Margate itself massively exceeded our expectations and we will have to come back again for a far longer stay!

I guess the shared courtyard has the potential to be a bit noisy depending on other guests but we had zero issues. We had no problems at all when we were there and had a great stay.

Location was central so gave easy access to Margate itself. That was fantastic, it was great as a base to return to after a walk on the beach, visiting art galleries or bars. We looked forward to going back to the property as it was clean, warm, comfortable and welcoming. A real gem!

The compromise was the parking. There is parking directly outside the property but it has no affiliation to the property. It is £1.40 per hour. We found free parking 10 minutes walk away as kindly advised by Paul. We had no problems. It wasn’t too much of an inconvenience, it was just the nature of the beast.

The studio apartment at The Beetroot was excellent and we would definitely stay again. The location was very close (1 minute!) from the beach and old town. It was surprisingly quiet and peaceful too, with a small courtyard outside where we could sit and have coffee. Our ground floor room was beautiful, comfortable, clean and very well appointed, with huge TV, juke box, fridge, microwave, coffee machine. There were quite a few places nearby where we could get breakfast or dinner. The owner Paul was very friendly and helpful.

I have very few suggestions for improvements! A toaster could have been useful, to make toast for breakfast.

The room was clean, comfortable and in a great location for the towns bars and restaurants and the seafront. Would stay again.

The bathroom got so damp even with the fan on. Wasn't conducive to use the tea and coffee facilities that are in the same room. We also left out cards to say we wanted the room cleaned and more water before 11am as requested and came back late to find nothing had been done. Bit confused why. Owner was away which was fine but didn't see any housekeeping staff there to ask.

Comfortable, clean, bright room with an en-suite. Water and lovely toiletries provided, as well as coffee machine and tea options, inc. good quality loose leaf teas. There are little tables and chairs on decking outside the room, as well as seating downstairs in the delightful courtyard- it’s beautifully planted, with a little pond. The sound of trickling water is very relaxing. Such an oasis. It’s centrally located in the beautiful old town. There are lots of cafes, restaurants and the Turner Contemporary within a couple of minutes. Paul’s a fantastic host. So friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
