The Royal Oak Hotel

Loved the water pressure, best shower I’ve ever had. The air conditioning was very appreciative too as my partner suffers in the heat however it was a bit loud but that’s absolutely to be expected. The bed was super comfy and the staff were so kind. Matthew really made us feel welcome. Location is incredible we made full use of the beach! Wetherspoons basically next door for breakfast on a roof overlooking the beach.

The walls are a bit thin. We could hear full conversations from our neighbours, heard him go to the toilet, flush, shower, his child crying. Everything. However we didn’t care all that much as we primarily booked this hotel for the location anyway and our neighbours only made noise in the mornings not of a nighttime.

The property and staff were amazing, close to harbour, restaurants and town.

Nothing, however on booking.com there is some misleading information. Upon looking at the questions and answers section I was informed that the hotel will book you into a local multi storey car park for £6.50 and they provide breakfast on site. However when I got there they said they don’t book parking spaces anymore and there’s nowhere onsite for food so we had to eat breakfast elsewhere (which wasn’t a problem it’s just wrong information on your website).

The location was excellent. Area is lively at the weekend, well into the night. Current owner has just taken over and is improving the premises all the time. Stef and his staff work hard to make your stay a good one. There is a function room/bar with a balcony overlooking the harbour. The hotel does not serve food but plenty of places to choose from for meals including the largest Wetherspoons in the country at one end of the road. Easy to get to places without a car as the loop bus stops at the other end of the road where the hotel is sited.

Parking costs are extortionate but found some free parking nearby!

The room was immaculate, nicely decorated and had a bath. The staff couldn't have been any more friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, on the level and next to a row of wonderful restaurants. and cafes. The hotel is very near to the iconic Pavilion , now managed by Wetherspoon; however, my favourite place to eat is the " Alexandria ", which is run by a gorgeous Italian couple, who must be in their eighties. It is housed in a beautiful building, too. The hotel is very near the bus stops, which is handy. And of course, it is very near the beach. There was a sea breeze through the windows, which was appreciated in the heat wave

Room was great. Met the new owner who was v welcoming and friendly. Location was incredible, right on sea front in heart of town. Apparently it can get a bit too lively outside at weekends but owner even without us asking put us in a lovely room at the back.

I suppose a lift might be a plus for some but I bet if you mentioned you could not climb stairs the owner would put you on a lower floor. Even so you'd have to go up at least one level. Not something we didn't like as we're v fit but may be a problem for some. Also on this occasion didn't drive there so free parking would be about 15 mins away. Local transport is very good and cheap.

Near and convenient to what we wanted for 1 overnight stay.

No one about 1 hour before checking., had a London telephone number to call but no answer. Very strange operation. We just wanted to leave bags as had walked a way from where parked car and didn't want to lug them around. So we had to lug them around! Was supplied with earplugs in the room as the rooms our friends had were the same as ours overlooking passage and directly over noisy disco and late bars. This was not mentioned, we were out late also so didn't really affect us but would not be great if you were not partying. This should be on the details. Room was small but OK for 1 night.

This is a simple hotel but really great for a stay in Ramsgate. We loved; 1. The location: directly on the marina. We were worried that this would mean it was noisy as we were right next to a few bars but we were at the back of the hotel and even with the window open it was quiet. We loved stepping out the door and being directly next to the marina. 2. The staff: everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The hotel should be proud of the staff and the service they provide. 3. The breakfast: really great selection for a good price. The food was very good quality, including very nice bright yolked eggs. 4. The bathroom: Again, very simple but the water was lovely and hot and the toiletries were nice. 5. The room: Nice and spacious with a comfortable bed.

I asked my 9 year old daughter if she had any criticisms. The only thing she could think of was that perhaps the wardrobe was a bit short if a very tall person wanted to hang a jumpsuit up :'). As I didn't have a very long jumpsuit to hang up, I will say that there is nothing to dislike about The Oak. It's perfect if you are looking for somewhere clean and friendly to stay in Ramsgate.

The location was perfect for us, close to main area with lots of eateries nearby. The fact that there was no lift and we’re elderly was actually not a problem as the one flight of stairs was quite manageable and the staff carried our luggage both up and down. We had a lovely few days and hope to visit again.

Perhaps, breakfast as an on site option in that lovely balcony area might have been nice but that was not a big deal and I couldn’t say there was anything I didn’t like.

The location was fantastic, Stefano was amazing, really helpful with local attractions and where not to go! Good value for money considering the location. We booked again. This place isn't the Savoy, it's a good hotel with everything you need at budget prices. There are alot of stairs so I would recommend asking for a room on level 1 if you have asthma or poor mobility. Other than that we had a perfect stay and booked again in August!

Once we found the hotel we were welcomed and shown to our newly decorated room. The staff were very helpful and friendly.. Stunning location. The bed was comfortable and good quality bedding and towels. We would go back again and recommend this hotel to others.

There was a night club next door to the hotel so ear plugs were supplied! Drawers in the room were all painted down so unusable.
