Hotel de Ville

The location of the hotel is good - close to the train station and several bus stops, parks, the town, beach etc as well as a few small shops, cafes etc. It was also the cheapest option by far for a week in July which is the main reason I chose it. I stayed here with my young daughter and just needed a base as I was in town visiting family and friends so it was perfect for that. The views from the room were nice - we could even see the sea - and I appreciated that there was a bath in the bathroom as my daughter prefers baths to showers. There's also a TV in the room, a kettle and supplies for making tea and coffee so I could at least have a cup of tea and my daughter could watch some cartoons while we were in the room.

Nothing, although if there had been a small fridge in the room it would have been perfect.

The best shower I’ve ever used. So powerful. Adrian behind the bar was super helpful getting us checked in. We had 2 twin rooms and they were great for what we needed. Not massive in space but plenty. I was nervous it being a pub but it was so quiet. 8 minute walk to the harbour. Coop on the opposite side of the road. Ideal location. Beds comfy and super clean. Could smell the freshness of the sheets. Bath sheets left on the bed. Tea and coffee facilities. We are here the hottest day of the year and fans supplied in both rooms also. Private entrance to avoid going through the pub too! Free parking on the side streets. Loads of plug socket’s available in the room.

Not a criticism as we managed fine. The only mirror is in the bathroom, the light bulbs are warm white colour so the mirror doesn’t get the best lighting but it works for what people need. The photos need updating as the rooms are a lot more modern than you see. Lovely grey and yellow bedding to make the rooms feel fresher!

Room had the right amount of space for my friend and I to be comfortable. The shower was beautiful. The view of the town from the window was lovely. Short walk from the station and down to the beach with a waitress on the way. Also a 1 minute walk to a loop bus top which takes you to the station, and margate, broadstairs and Ramsgate beaches. Staff were friendly. It wasn't noisy.

The lighting in the bathroom wasn't bright enough for me to do my makeup and there was no mirror in the room for natural lighting. But it wasn't terrible.

Warm welcome, friendly staff, great location for our needs - right on bus route to travel easily around the area including margate and broadstairs, so we could leave the car behind (train station about 15-20 min walk away). Convenient free parking right outside the hotel on the street. Description of hotel is true and honest - what you see is what you get... good budget accommodation with everything needed provided :)

The mattresses and pillows too soft for us - purely down to personal preference though!

Is my 2nd stay, and have already booked for later in the year. Location is ideal, room very clean, and for the area one of the best for price. This time I stayed with my 3 children and was great they were allowed downstairs (public bar), in the evening after we returned from our day out.

No iron/board in the room, although when checking out I was informed they can be supplied, so will be requesting on arrival next time. WiFi seemed to be non exsistant, not a bother for me, but not great for the children

Trip for me and my son. Comfy beds, good power on shower, location ideal , short walk to town centre or railway station. Friendly staff Quite basic and small room, but cause of the price I don't think you can complain, I'm from the area and have stayed in much more expensive places that don't provide much more for the money they charge.

No iron/board in room, as we all know, once the clothes come out the suitcase, creases have appeared, other than that, nothing at all to complain about.

Great staff very friendly and helpful. Great location for walking to Ramsgate sea front. 10/15 minutes at most. Rooms clean and tidy. With own shower facilities which was great. Tea and coffee making facilities were topped up every day if used. I would definitely use again

Although my room was a good size,a little attention wouldn't go a miss. The bed was a little uncomfortable.

few minutes walk to the person we came to visit. Access to the room was good. More than adequate space for clothes and space between the beds for a small dog crate. Allowed a tiny dog free of charge.

One of the beds in Room 3 was sloping to one side which wasn’t apparent to look at but it was difficult to sleep on. It wasn’t a major issue because we only stayed three nights.

Everything !!! The people are excellent. All the bar tenders, the owners and even the patrons of the bar. Everyone is excellent. Very well kept rooms with great views. An overall amazing experience. Going to be booking my next stay next year before I leave :)

Nothing. Everything was exceptional. I have absolutely no complaints about the property.

The staff are super friendly and lovely! The pub was great to visit and even connect with some locals for a night. The room suited my needs and was as expected. It's a close walk to the station or down to the harbour, and everywhere in between. Decent place for a reasonable price.

Wifi didn't work in the room.
