The Hatch Inn

I wanted to have a stop on the drive to Cornwall, this was perfect as it is super close to the M5 but also feels so peaceful and calm! The room was lovely and spacious and the breakfast was amazing too! The car park isn’t huge however there is enough space for the guests! I am very envious of the Thursday pizza night!

The only negative is hearing creaky floors from other people around you however it is an older building so I can’t complain. They do not serve food on Sunday evening and Monday all day which is useful to know - you can still get a drink!

We stayed here on route to Cornwall. The property was lovely. it’s looks like an old farm house that has been converted. It still holds its charm however! It’s set in a very cute, quiet little village. Mid Summer Murders sprung to mind. Walk a few minutes down the round and you will be marvelling at beautiful rolling hills. The rooms were very cozy and comfortable and very clean. Tea, coffee and lovely biscuits. The owners and all the staff were lovely. So pleasant and couldn’t do enough for us. Highly recommend this charming little hotel.

The bathroom is very clean and the bedroom was very roomy and spotless

The costa Coffee machine in the bedroom needs instructions for inserting & using the coffee pods . I spent a frustrating 25 minutes trying to work out how to load the pod ( never managed to work it out - had to get help) . There is a QR code on the machine which I though might helpfully advise how to use the coffee pod - but it only wants to tell you the other machines it sells in its range ! not helpful and very frustrating ! Also, I was in room 3, and the bedroom is illuminated by your outside (powerful) light until the timer turns it off ....I suggest that you might consider blackout curtains ( even if you only put them on the RHS curtain that is directly in range of the light ) Thanks

Fantastic property lots of character, Claire and Tony were excellent hosts ,very welcoming and friendly Claire even took delivery of the flowers for my wife's birthday and placed them in our room . The breakfast and meals we had were exceptional, ate our food in front of the log burner which was very cosy Staff behind the bar were brilliant they even place a single candle on my wife's tiramasu and sang happy birthday, such a nice touch ,thanks a million Claire and Tony one of the best couple of days away we have had

Really great stay! arrived on pizza night which was a real pleasant surprise as they had a pizza oven outside and the weather was great for sitting outside to eat and drink. the staff were fantastic and friendly both on arrival, when serving drinks and food and in the morning at breakfast. the property was nice and quiet and the room was very comfortable. the breakfast was very nice and very large with lots of options to choose from and the whole place had a very calm and friendly atmosphere.

We had a double room and a family room which were both very clean and comfortable. We had a good choice for breakfast which we chose the night before and it was delicious and extremely hot - which does not happen ver often. The staff were lovely too and very polite. Special thanks to Karen for looking after us and our honey 🍯🐝

We didn’t know that the restaurant didn’t open on a Monday - but we went to the Farthings Hotel, a five minute walk away which was exceptional.

We stayed at The Hatch Inn for one night and had such a good experience there. The staff all went out of their way to help us. They’re all so helpful, happy and friendly, we felt really welcomed. The room was clean, comfortable, warm and cozy & we would happily come back. Another brilliant thing for us, is that they offer a full vegan breakfast which was a real treat. Not having to ask the staff if the milk or spread was dairy free because they let us know ahead what was on the table was all suitable for us was great. Small things like that really make a difference because it’s such a treat not to have to ask or second guess everything. The breakfast itself was really good & included so much choice. Well impressed and will definitely be back if we’re ever in this neck of the woods again. 👍

quiet village location. Very nicely decorated inside but retains the features for the age of the property. A very lively bar atmosphere complete with wood burners and dog friendly. Great selection of drinks and food. Outside area for smoking and plenty of parking. Restaurant was nice and cosy feel and the food was great and have to say very good prices on the dinner menu as the quality that was delivered with every dish we sampled was evident. My pet love a cheeseboard that was excellent with the very nice red from the menu......

perfect location just a short distance from the M5 and east to find with its own dedicated parking.The room was lovely with a little bay window to sit and chill. the bed was comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Lovely modern en-suite shower. the bar and restaurant area was lovey and welcoming and the staff and owners were friendly and attentive. We enjoyed a lovely dinner in the restaurant and drink in the outside seating area. All in all a lovely hotel/pub .

Breakfast was delicious, dinner was delicious and the staff were amazing, So friendly, so welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotless, a fan already in position (it was a very hot day), we really couldn't have asked for more. A family feel, we were welcomed like old friends. Will most definitely be returning. Thankyou for a lovely stay x
