First of all a lovely welcome from Lyn the host. Received a message saying room was ready and we could check in earlier thought that was very nice. Breakfast was superb. Home baked fresh baps and rolls ( to die for). Locally sources fillings bacon sausage and eggs, locally sourced home made jams. For two morning I had bacon, sausage and egg bap. Last morning fresh baked rolls and jams. Large pot of coffee to finish and make sure you try the apple juice, it’s special. Bathroom facilities great, large shower, nice little extras like shampoo, shower gel, pad to remove make up and cotton buds if needed. Bed comfy and nice pillows. Facilities to cook if you wish, fridge to chill your wine and tins, tea & coffee there if you want it. We stayed for 3 nights plenty of room we thought. Great having a parking space. We popped into Bristol, parked at Park & Ride and spent a lovely day around the docks and shops. Dropped into Wells had great coffee and cake at the Strangers with Coffee cafe, walked to Cheddar brewery where you can order a pizza from the Pizza van and have an Ale to two. Had a great time. Will see you again for sure. Cannot fault The Old Police House as a place to stay.

All good.

This dwelling serves as an annex to the main property, providing an exceptional level of privacy. Positioned ideally, it is conveniently within walking distance of Cheddar's main attractions. Simultaneously, it manages to maintain a sense of seclusion, making it an idyllic sanctuary to unwind in after a bustling day exploring tourist sites and embarking on hikes, free from the din and traffic. Lyn, a truly hospitable host, extends a warm welcome and readily endeavors to accommodate requests regarding check-in and check-out times. The breakfast, meticulously prepared in accordance with our preferences and enjoyed within the confines of our room, was a culinary delight. The offering struck a harmonious balance between complexity and simplicity, and the inclusion of Lyn's home-baked baps was an exquisite touch. For those seeking reprieve after a full day of activities, I wholeheartedly endorse this establishment as an optimal choice. It not only offers a place of respite but also elevates the overall experience of your visit.

Lyn was really friendly, she made check in really easy and was so accommodating when we needed to arrive later than planned. The home baked cookies were a really sweet touch. Loved the location too. When we accidentally left a bag behind she called straight away and made arrangements for us to come and collect a few days later once we were passing back through. Couldn't recommend more highly. We will certainly be back! Thank you.

Lyn and Franky's property is a great place to stay if you're visiting Cheddar and the wider region around Somerset and North Devon. The guest house is a really decent size for 2 people, is well laid out, and has all the amenities you would expect. The property is only 10 minutes walk from the center of Cheddar, as well as a range of pubs and restaurants. Lyn provided great recommendations for places to visit and where to go for dinner. In the morning you're served a homemade breakfast using ingredients from the surrounding farms and local shops. Highly recommended!

Lyn was an exceptional host, warmly welcomed on arrival and we were shown around the annex. We were asked if we were happy with a breakfast bap in the morning which we were delighted with. Breakfast was delivered hot straight to the door at a time of our choosing. Quality meat from the butchers and the eggs were lovely from Lyns daughters chickens. Room was lovely, comfortable bed, good range of towels/flannels, a nice sized bathroom and tea and coffee with fresh milk in the fridge. For the price it was faultless, very good for a Saturday night. Perfect location for my dad's 60th birthday at the rugby club a short distance away. And to top it off parking also great infront of the annex. Will definitely be back if down this way again.

The owners were both charming people who could not have been more welcoming. They even cleared the ice from my windscreen!

I was very disappointed with the breakfast. I have stayed in hundreds of B&B’s and have always been offered a selection of juices, cereal and yogurt as well as a cooked breakfast and toast so I was very surprised to receive a breakfast bap wrapped in tin foil and a pot of tea on a tray. Had the price been low I probably wouldn’t have minded but for £90 -the most I’ve ever paid for a B&B - I was quite shocked. I couldn’t get the shower to work but, to be fair to Lin, she was very apologetic that she had forgotten to switch it on.

My partner and I had a really great stay. The room was cosy and had everything we needed, with a comfortable bed and a small area to eat alongside the kitchenette. The bathroom was clean and the shower was a good size and worked well. Our host, Lyn, was amazing. Very friendly and welcoming and made delicious breakfast baps and little extras like cookies and cake. I was even given freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast. We have already arranged to have a longer stay in the summer.

Nothing really. It was all in all a very pleasant stay.

This was a lovely little self-contained space with a very comfotable bed, a well-equipped kitchenette and bathroom (good towels). There were toiletries supplied as well as condiments in the kitchen and tea/coffee/milk/sugar provided on arrival. The decor was fresh and everything was in good condition. The WiFi worked well. A nice breakfast was delivered the next morning. Such a warm welcome from the host - Lyn is a delight and really makes everything easy and ensures you feel at home. The location is in the more historic part of Cheddar which is lovely and is in easy walking distance of the Gorge and of Cheddar Village. I believe there's parking if you need it.

I liked it all.
