The Newbridge on Usk

Superb location, so quiet and besutiful on a bend in tbe River, by a picturesque bridge. We had cocktails on the terrace by the river in the sun - sublime! The staff were outstanding, very friendly and couldn't do enough to make sure we had a great time. Guest rooms are very special, beautifully decorated and furnished. Great attention to detail and the Dyson hairdryer was typical of the high-end details. We were even brought a bottle of real milk in an insulated ice bucket, no long-life milk for them! Dinner was outstanding, and extremely good value considering the amazing surroundings. Breakfast was a continental buffet but superb with freshly made bread and lovely fresh croissants, cold meats, etc.

The room was beautiful with lots of really nice extra touches. It was like staying in a luxury chalet, so much better than a hotel. The breakfast was good quality, homemade bread and homemade butter, all Welsh products too. Staff were very friendly and helpful too.

Would have been nice to have a cooked breakfast! Although we paid in advance we were charged again for the stay which we've been told will take 7 days to refund and with no compensation which is very disappointing considering it has left us in financial difficulty for a few days.

We love the location and the facilities, and have visited many times over the past 19 years. The staff are always friendly and the food is always exceptional! It is our favourite place to stay.

I have always thoroughly enjoyed a cooked breakfast in the morning, however, it seems that this has gone and been replaced with a continental. I was very disappointed with this being removed. This was the only negative from our stay.

Lovely continental breakfast, including their delicious homemade bread. Lots of lovely pastries to choose from, and fruit, cereal, yoghurt, jams and honey. There were a good selection of juices to choose from.

Fixing the windows so we could open them as they were locked. Also a better explanation what the £40 dinner allowance includes, as we were charged £40 each even though our meal cost less.

Fantastic location. Lovely room with quality furnishings and very comfortable bed. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Restaurant. Limited menu, and expensive for what it was. Breakfast was adequate for continental, maybe a hot option could be considered.

Room was beautifully decorated and furnished. very high quality indeed. The food in the restaurant was really excellent. Location by the river was beautiful

Only issue was read our room didn’t have a window so no way of getting air into the room

What an exceptional place to stay! We enjoyed a lovely romantic one night getaway and can’t wait to come again. X

A £50 deposit is taken Incase of incidentals in the room but this was refunded in 5 days x

The location was spot on, quiet and very rural. The room was magnificent and lived up to expectations The restaurant was nice not overcrowded and the food and service were excellent. This was a special treat away and will be my special treat again, I loved it!

Had to be in Newport for a stressful reason and the stay here made it so much easier. Beautiful and peaceful location. Staff were so friendly.

The bedroom was beautiful and my wife now wants a Dyson hair drier!

The balcony was disappointing, it needed sweeping and cleaning!
