The atmosphere in the bar/dinning area was great, Staff were very attentive and busy but took the time for all their guest. One particlar person with pigtails was so very helpful in getting me a glass of wine that I would enjoy, she is a credit to the company. We request our bedroom window to be open and thankfull they obliged us.

The quality of the breakfast was excellant, but the staff were very dissappointing, staff could do with more training. Very, very dissappointed in the quality of the breakfast orange juice, I beleive it was either poor quality fresh orange or diluting juice. The breakfast glasses didn't even match either, I also had a small part of kitchen blue roll in my beans. Did not appeciate, whilst having breakfast some staff are hovering and one actually came right behind me and spraying cleaner on the window right beside me. The lights were not even on in the breakfast room when we went down at approx between 8 - 9am felt we were in the way of staff getting their chores done.

The reception staff were very welcoming and informative. The restaurant and bar staff were helpful and accommodating, (we asked for a table by the fire and got it) Dinner (Chicken curry and Bangers and mash) very hot and above average. Breakfast service, very efficient, and food excellent (Full breakfast and poached egg & beans). Room lovely and bath super hot ! TV remote didn't function well (informed reception following morning) but we weren't wanting to watch TV anyway, so this was not a problem. Enjoyed our stay immensely and if in the area would re-book.

As a personal preference, I like table and bedside lamps, and not ceiling lighting. Other than that we enjoyed everything.

All the staff where excellent and very helpful ! Breakfast is a must do , individual order and hot. Dinner was not available on the Sunday when I arrived but was offered take away menus from local places. On the Monday ate in the restaurant and the food was great !

The only thing was the entrance to the Barn was very easy to missed , especially when its dark . It may be worth considering some reflective signs and or What three words/GPS info to stop you over running which the post code does . It would help to keep folk safe too. ; )

Freshly cooked breakfast was consciously well planned by the venue. It had a tick list to select the foods you wanted eg mushrooms, type of egg etc so this helped the venue avoid wasted food!! The food was good and there was an additional buffet table to help yourself to cereals, yoghurt and pieces of fruit, jams, marmite etc

I could not fault it really, it was busy Sunday morning and the lady waiting on was working really hard to serve everyone. Perhaps a 'Help yourself to filtered Coffee and Teas' would help in this aspect a customers tend to want their drinks 'on demand'.

February 2023

There was a good supply of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Good toiletries and fluffy white towels were provided. The heating was easy to control and the room warmed up quickly. There was a reliable wifi connection and the television worked well. A safe was provided for extra security. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. The tick box menu for your breakfast items selection was a great idea.

Two lights above the bed were out/very dim. The central light wouldn't work without the cooling fan (not needed in February). The mirror light in the bathroom didn't work. The door to the room had a very loud creaking (needed repairing/oiling) making quiet ingress or egress impossible. The capacious kettle could only be sparsely filled as the bathroom basin was very shallow. The kettle needed checking to ensure that no water had run onto the bottom of the kettle which connects to the electric base.

The room was more spacious than I expected and was extremely clean with a very comfortable bed. The hotel had made sure that my request for the bed was carried out. The staf were extremely helpful and rang for a taxi for us to go to another location. The Old Barn is in a very peacful location even though it was not far from the M4 motorway. A form had to be completed to say what you wanted for breakfast. This was very efficient and made sure that there were no mistakes with our order. Ther breakfast was tasty especially the sausages. I'd stay again.

Everything was good.

Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Plenty of space outside to enjoy the weather and have a drink and the large car park is certainly a bonus. Breakfast was very good, with a choice of cold cereals and yogurts together with a cooked to order breakfast. I liked that you could tick specific things to have on the hot menu. The steak and ale pie I had for dinner was very tasty and it was nice that the staff allowed us to eat in the bar as the dining room was very busy with two large parties. I much prefer The Old Barn to bigger hotels that are nearby as it has the personal touch. Great value for the price.

The room was fabulous, loads of space, the bathroom was very clean with a powerful (detachable) shower over the bath. Food was plentiful and very tasty - early bird menu 2 courses for £14.95 - fantastic! The bar/restaurant very cosy with plenty of room between tables. Breakfast was absolutely gorgeous. Staff were wonderful - especially Sian who was so friendly and accommodating! Thank you Sian. The outside seating area was so pretty - flowers and lights everywhere! All in all we had a wonderful overnight stay and will definitely be back!

It rained!

Great location for us, half way from london to pembroke. Efficient check in, room not far from front desk. Excellent bar and restaurant. Great salad selection as well at meats. Great beers. Great value prices. Surprising and interesting rockabilly association and history

Not didnt like exactly but the plumbing is a bit noisy and if there is someone in the room upstairs who is on the heavy side you may hear them walking about. But we slept soundly in a comfy bed and the water was hot so it's a small point given the overall great value and lovely staff.
