Location was ideal for us, as we were attending a wedding - just a minute or so walk from the nearby church and a short walk to the castle where the reception was held. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and arranged an early check-in so we didn't have to make a trip back from the reception. The twin room was clean and airy, and felt much bigger than it's size on paper. Comfortable beds, a good shower, a nice simple continental breakfast and easy separate access to the room after the pub closed made for a flawless trip. I only wish we had time to have some drinks and food in the pub before we left.

No complaints at all

Really convenient location as I was a guest at a wedding at the nearby Clearwell Castle. There was a good variety of breakfast options (muffins, granola, yoghurt, fruit etc) and liked that fresh milk was provided for hot drinks. Bed was very comfortable. Property were really accommodating to early check in request and there’s plenty of parking space.

Would have liked a full length mirror in the room as was getting ready for a wedding

Accommodation was part of a historic pub in a postcard-worthy village. The accommodation has a separate entrance. A fresh continental breakfast was left in the room. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Free parking is available on the premises. Highly recommended.

A bit on the pricy side for the size of the room, but that is to be expected from the area. There are two rooms next to each other and noise canceling was not great, so if you are a light sleeper maybe pack in some earplugs.

The location was excellent for attending a wedding at Clearwell Castle. The manager Scott was very kind and helpful. The pub garden looked great and the food for breakfast was good and nice served in my room

I found it difficult to do my makeup and hair in the bathroom without a shelf to put items on and a longer mirror would have been helpful

it’s a cosy little place. Great location for a wedding at the castle being a stones throw away. check in was easy, as always. (this is our go-to place when we have weddings here) staff are accommodating. The continental breakfast is spot on with what’s provided. Beds are comfy, room was warm, the whole place was clean, good attention to detail here.

My Mum & Dad had a lovely stay at the Butchers Arms, and would not hesitate to stay again. They stayed on a Saturday night, the room was pleasant, very clean and had everything you would need. The service was very good, the staff were friendly and attentive. They enjoyed a very nice evening meal to celebrate their Anniversary.

The staff at the Butcher's Arms are fabulous and friendly. We were called on the day we were setting off to check travelling arrangements and check in times. We had run late through work and they said it would be fine to call the when we were 20 minutes away and they were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were lovely. Would highly recommend.

Met with a smile and great service. Easy check in. Great room. Very clean and light. Blinds shut out the sun well in the morning. Very close to the castle which is where our event was. Continental breakfast was a great light breakfast before we headed off.

Staff really hospitable and couldn’t be more helpful, would have preferred a cooked breakfast but understand the reason for offering a continental. The room was bijou but facilities great, the bed was super comfortable I struggled to wake my husband! The staff really made our stay lovely and we would absolutely stay again.

Cooked breakfast, everything else was perfect 👍

Albeit arriving later than the regular checkin time, a very friendly lad welcomed us and showed us the rooms - the Inn is a beautiful old building with quaint beer garden, the room is spacious and modern with old touches. Moden bathroom, crisp white linen and nice breakfast hamper in the room with fresh milk, apple juice and snacks. Shame we arrived too late for dinner, we missed out! Overall feeling as if you’re in the Shire staying in the Prancing Pony waiting for the arrival of Gandalf

Fred the Fish has some neck problems, he’s got a slight kink in his head
