The single thing that really stood out for us was the team. From check in to check out, the service we received was exceptional - a special shout out to the guy on the bar and the lady who served us breakfast. You really get the impression that everyone loves working at the hotel and that's a rare thing. Our room - number three - was a little rough around the edges and in need of updating but represented very good value for money. The bed was very comfortable and I loved the arched window overlooking the garden. Drinks on the terrace in the summer sun ahead of travelling to Prashad for dinner was a truly lovely experience. There was music on in the bar the night we stayed (Sean Harrington, amazing) and we loved listening to that with an after dinner glass of wine. It stopped at around 9.30pm so everything was quiet by 10pm. The buffet-style breakfast was lovely with three cooked options, just enough. We really loved staying here and will do so again. The common areas are very pleasant indeed and I'm sure that it won't be too long before all the bedrooms match up to that standard.

Lovely building and the staff were wonderfully accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was OUTSTANDING, full English had quality ingredients cooked perfectly, croissants were warm and flakey and the cereal/fruit selection excellent. Couldn't fault the breakfast.

Room needs updating. Carpet stained, furniture old and aged (but not in a good way). Bed was lumpy. Linen clean and crisp though. Desk lamp didn't work, bathroom modern and clean but shower temperature was too hot and wouldn't cool no matter where the adjustment was turned. Room was very hot (not their fault just the weather) and the night porter kindly brought a fan which was old and pretty useless only blowing a hint of a breeze but better than nothing!

The hotel is lovely and the staff are incredible. I don’t think I’ve ever had such excellent customer service in anywhere I’ve stayed from EVERY single staff member and I’ve stayed in lots of places throughout the world. The restaurant manager was brilliant and has an obvious rapport with his staff, he mucks in with everything from clearing tables, waiting, serving drinks etc etc truly amazing. All reception staff were so friendly and helpful as was everyone else in the hotel for that matter. We were there for a wedding and even though there were 80 guests all eating at the same time the food was delicious and hot when served.

Nothing at all

The bar and dining rooms were very nicely decorated and the breakfasts offered were excellent- the Full English was first class in every respect. The hotel is in a reasonably quiet location off the main road and the bedroom sizes are good. All staff were very welcoming and helpful.

We were in bedrooms which had not yet been refurbished, and therefore there were some niggles with the fittings- the loo seat was incorrectly fitted and ‘askew’ on the bowl, the loo paper holder was coming off the wall and the window needed repainting - generally the two rooms needed a bit of attention.

From checking in, to checking out, everyone was just so helpful. We were on the 1st floor, a little awkward for me, with limited mobility, but I hadn't realised there were ground floor rooms, so my fault, nothing to do with the hotel. The room was clean and tidy, with tea and coffee supplies, and proper cups, so you could have a proper cuppa. The bathroom had everything it needed, was a tad small but did the job. The lady on reception booked taxis for us for a gig we were going to in Huddersfield. The staff in the restaurant were polite and friendly. Bar had an excellent choice of beers and lagers, and the food was delicious. Great breakfast nicely cooked and presented.

A minor thing, was the small bathroom, maybe the layout could change from a bath to a shower cubicle, but that said, it didn't detract from a great stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our four day stay at this beautiful hotel. The grounds and the gardens very picturesque with comfortable seating areas. The bedroom was clean and spacious, also en suite was lovely and had everything one needed. All meals were of a very high standard and served by friendly, courteous and very professional staff. The menu for dinner was varied and cooked beautifully by chef who knows what he is doing. All in all 100% Definitely will be staying here again without a doubt.

Can not think of anything , everything was perfect.

it was stunning outside and inside was just as lovely, excellent room service, it was quiet, the restaurant was lovely, all 4 of us said the food was stunning.. risotto was lush, the menu choice was also amazing and if you are a good would highly recommend eating there, our friends who live local, will be going there for food in the future, breakfast fab choices,it was slightly more than the local pub up the rd, but you get what you pay for, and I didn’t find the evening meal expensive, considering the quality.. excellent.

it’s a very small thing, and it’s not just here, it’s other eateries as well. I’m a fussy eater, and I’m limited in what I eat, so I do like a veggie burger, but I don’t like plant base, as I don’t like texture or taste of meat, and even though the food menu was amazing with a great choice, I was limited to the haddock , I would had eaten there a second night if they had not had a plant base burger, I must add.. they had about 6 other veggie options ( which is the best I have ever seen).. so not all of there fault.

What I like most about Healds Hall is its friendly staff. Every staff member I interacted with went out of their way to be helpful and made me feel welcome. Then there's the serene, peaceful setting. Though close to a busy road, Healds Hall is set well back and is quiet, and the buildings are quite lovely. The food is excellent--outstanding breakfast--and not having to go out to find a good meal is a big plus. My room was comfortable, nicely decorated, and had everything I could possibly need, including coffee and tea, biscuits, bottled water, hairdryer and iron. Though the room was small, cleverly designed storage space provided enough room to keep my clothes and personal items out of the way but handy.

The wifi was a bit spotty, and the heated towel rack in the bathroom was so hot that I burned myself on it when my arm accidentally touched it.

A very clean room, slightly dated but had everything we needed (including an iron!!) The breakfast that was included was amazing, ranging from cereals and croissant to a full english with a vegi option included. Tea and coffee facilities in the room.

The bed was very soft, not my to my liking so I cant fault the hotel for that, however it was slightly wobbly, it just didnt feel stable. The layout wasnt the best, the mirror was where there was no chair for the wife to get ready and there was only 1 chair between 2 of us.
