The location was excellent, with bus stops (for buses 202 and 203 outside the main gate - just 30 seconds away from the accommodation) and you can easily travel to Huddersfield, Dewsbury and Leeds by bus. The service runs about every 10 minutes, so it could not be easier. There are some 20 aches of gardens to explore on the site. This consists areas of lawn, a meadow and woodland. The monks graveyard is quite something to see. I stayed in the B&B guest house. This is separate from the main retreat house. The breakfast supplied (help yourself) is not extensive as you would find in a posh hotel but it is very good and tasty. The bread supplied (not the normal bland white or brown bread) makes for awesome toast. The best I have ever had anywhere. I used to look forward to the breakfast each day and especially the toast. Mirfield and the surrounding area has some wonderful walking country. All in all, it was a good stay and I hope to be able to book again for later in the year quite soon. I expect to return on a very regular basis.

I was on an adventure - to cycle, solo, across the width of Britain. This was one of the 12 accommodations that I stayed in along the journey. The lady host was very friendly and approachable from the moment I arrived to the moment that I left. The place was only open because I was there so I had the place to myself! The lady host, arrived the next morning and made my full English breakfast for me. We had a lovely chat that morning about my adventure and she wished me well on my journey. Would definitely highly recommend this place for food and overnight accommodation.

The single room was a good size, as was the en suite bathroom. The maintenance person fixed a broken blind immediately. All staff personnel were kind. The grounds are lovely to walk around, with some nice views. The bus stop for Huddersfield is literally right outside the Community buildings.

The Community site is large and I had no idea where to check in. A member of staff spotted me walking around and took me to the right place. If the Community could provide a map or written instructions for first time visitors, that would be great.

The location was perfect for our visit. The rooms are clean and comfortable with tea, coffee etc and a nice shower room. Our room overlooked the garden tended by the monks. We were met on arrival and everything was clearly explained about how to access the property when we returned later. There was a booklet in the room about the monastery and how the monks live and go about their day. I'd recommend a walk around the beautiful grounds. It's a very tranquil setting. We didn't have breakfast, but there was a lot of choice, all self service. There is parking on site.

We have stayed here a few times now when we come and see family. The rooms are nice and cosy. Breakfast is self service and all laid out. You have a choice of toast, eggs, cereal, yoghurts, fruit, assortment of condiments. Tea, coffee, juices. There is also tea and coffee in your room with nibbles.

We couldn't fault anything inside, the only suggestion we would have is on the outside. If you arrive at night it is quite dark. I would suggest some reflective markings on the lower walls of the building near the retreat as you drive forward to park up as there is another small wall which can be missed when reversing, also the small wall down the side of that same building. This would really help.

. Very friendly place, greeted by John on arrival who made us feel welcome and explained how everything world. He then showed us to our room. The room was comfy with everything we needed. Heating good and hot powerful shower. Lovely velvet bed and chair, tv and WiFi, extra blankets if needed nice view. Peaceful location and felt very safe in the grounds. Handy location when visiting family nearby. We chatted to other guests at breakfast who were also enjoying their stay. Breakfast was nice, lovely bread and well catered for. Help yourself continental style with boiled eggs and plenty of hot drinks. We would definitely stay again.

Everything was lovely.

The property was just what we wanted - we needed a bed in an area we needed to use as a base. The breakfast was a bonus. The bed was very comfortable and, as you would expect, it was very quiet and peaceful for a great nights sleep. You don’t need to be religious to stay here as the accommodation is within an annex on the grounds - everyone is made welcome here whether you are on a retreat or simply a B and B guest.

we got everything we needed from our visit.

Despite being in a suburban locality, the extensive grounds, with their mixture of semi wild spaces and cultivated gardens, kitchen garden and orchard, made it a wonderfully tranquil place to stay. The welcome was very warm, breakfast and access arrangements explained clearly. Guests are free to wander the grounds but the accommodation is in comfortable, modernised rooms in an annexe, so you are in no way cloistered in the monastery. We would happily return. It is also very good value for money.

Nice quiet location. The property had high security features and the wifi was the fastest we have experienced. The property was set on acreage and we could hear the resident cows and sheep at times. We were invited to explore the property at our leisure, but we were not staying long enough for that. Pub/food options were nearby. We also noticed a bus service which seemed to stop right near the front of the property, but as we had a car we had no need for it.

The room was a little small, but for a 2 night stay that was not really an issue for us.

As usual, a very quiet and relaxing stay at Mirfield monestary. The whole place oozes peace and quiet and is a perfect place to relax, contemplate and have peace. The rooms are perfect with a most wonderful bathroom. The garden is also just out of this world (probably quite approiate) and invites to quiet walks. You just don't feel that you are in the middle of Mirfield, it is just like a differnt world. Whether you are religous or not, it is a most peaceful place and the perfect place to let your soul relax. I can only recommend it. (I have been staying there a few times over the last few years, and it is just wonderful.)

Everything was perfect, so no complaints whatsoever.
