315 Bar & Restaurant

Me and my partner came here for a mini getaway. When we arrived, we were greeted at the reception and given a key for our room. Our room was clean with a modern bathroom and our bed was really comfy. The spa is lovely! We had the luxury of having it all to ourselves. We also dined In the restaurant in the evening and for the complimentary breakfast that came with our room. The food we ate tasted fantastic and it was well presented by the chef. The waiters were also very efficient with their table service and friendly.

We had to go downstairs and ask the waiter at the bar for some drinking glasses for our room. My only suggestion would be to place some drinking glasses in the rooms.

The place is ok, and the staff is amazing, everyone makes an effort to accommodate your needs and are so kind, friendly and helpful, so the best of this place is the people working there. From the moment you arrive, you will be welcome with a smile, the check-in process can be done while you order your favourite drink from the bar if you chose to have dinner there, may not be cheap as chips but it will be rather delicious, breakfast included is served in the conservatory with a delightful view and the kindness friendly service you can imagine, food was bespoke adapted to my wish and scrumptious, very good quality and well seasoned. The room- although I had to be moved to a smaller room, was comfortable and spacious enough for a night, the room temperature was perfect, and the bed comfy enough for one night, but not exceptional; facilities included a small flat-screen TV, a kettle and coffee tray with a selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate, and plenty of little pots of milk, and two bottles of still water. Also, you can find a hairdryer, the wi-fi was excellent with a good speed, the bathroom was very nice, clean and modern. There is a lift that will take you until the 2nd floor but not to the Deluxe Family Suites at the top, there are some stairs to get you there, 13steps in fact and rather steep for someone with mobility issues, I didn't get to see the Deluxe Family Suite, but my husband told me it was nice and very spacious. Parking was available free of charge, and plenty of spaces close to the entrance. Really a nice place to stay, with the most friendly and kind staff.

The shower is slippery like no other, they have a warning sign about it but there is no anti-slip mat available, nor security handle on the wall, so mind the shower dance for your life! Also, I wish the lift could get you to a Deluxe Family Suite, I booked one but had to be moved to a smaller room, since I could not climb the stairs to the Suite. To be fair, perhaps they have a Suite accessible, I don't know, but if so, well, must have been occupied that night, pity if that was the case.

Breakfasts lovely. Afternoon tea one day very good. Let us stay in the room until after 10 pm. All food was excellent. Comfortable room. Most of staff friendly. Near to lovely walks.

Weeds at back of building in car park and dead plants in containers. Glasses from drinks taken outside were still there the next day. Could be that it is understaffed during the week. Final night the fire alarm went off several times. A fault that couldn't be helped but still disrupted sleep. Shower area lovely but floor is like glass so needed to be aware of that!

The restaurant was spacious, light and well set out. Not touching elbows with the next table and you could actually see what you were eating. We were a party of 10, having all three courses, and the overall majority were happy with their food. Special mention to the Duck & Black Pudding Scotch Egg, Pan Seared Scallop & King Prawn, 315 Hunters Chicken, Monkfish & Seabass, and the Chocolate Cup dessert was amazing (particularly with raspberry sorbet in the cup rather than Tia Maria ice cream) as well as the Apple, Rhubarb & Ginger Crumble Souffle

Some items on the menu could be better described, i.e. duck pate is not duck terrine, so couldn't eat this, but quickly rectified with a different starter. When restaurant/bar closed we were asked to move to the spa area, which wasn't a problem, but when some of the party, who weren't staying the night, wanted to get to the car park, everywhere was locked up internally and they had to navigate the patio area at the back of the venue when all lights had been switched off. External lights need to be left on, or a different option for late leavers.

Our overall stay was really good, nice surroundings. Staff in the bar area very friendly on arrival.

Breakfast let the whole stay down for us. The man serving seemed to have a bad attitude and clearly didn’t like waiting on people. We found him unapproachable. Portion sizes for the full English was tiny, we left feeling still hungry. There was a bad odour in the reception area on entering. Likely from the kitchen but it wasn’t pleasant.

Hotel was really good, very clean and well kept. The room was spacious and comfortable. The shower was also really good. The food for both dinner and breakfast was beyond expectations. Dinner was exceptional, service, atmosphere and the presentation and taste of the food were all extremely good. The service, from front of house through to the house-keepers were all lovely, super friendly and helpful.

The only negative was that there was a party in the function room which was loud, but only until midnight - and the AC was a massive annoyance - it couldnt be turned off so kept humming all night. Also, our room had poor wifi reception.

Not sure how you can elevate a vanilla ice cream but they did, it was amazing.! Staff are amazing too. Recommended, I will return..x Thank you. Stu.

A fridge in the room would be great and an Ironing board in the room would have been nice. Small things! (I’m sure the ironing board was available)

We had just the one night at the 315 prior to a function. The staff were friendly and the room comfortable. Dinner in the restaurant was first class - lots of choice and reasonable prices. There is a courtyard Hospitality area that would be great on a better day.

It would have been nice to be able to go for a wander but the hotel is on a busy road.

The shower is very spacious and amazing. The bed is very comfortable There's a lot of room and theres a bus stop right outside the hotel. The staff were lovely and friendly

The signal on my phone wasn't great and I wanted to keep in contact with my partner who was ill.

the bed was so hard! I felt like I had slept on top of a wardrobe. they could do to put a soft mattress protector on it
