The staff were outstanding, I was checked in by ELLIE on the front desk and she was polite, welcoming and really helpful following what had been a long journey to get there. Arriving late in the evening an needing to prepare for the next morning. Very professional young woman and was a credit to your hotel as she was also there the following morning when I checked out and had same polite welcoming persona. The next morning at breakfast both HARRY and SAL were once again so very welcoming polite and helpful. The three young employers were a huge credit to what turned out to be a surprising overnight stay and in this day and age to witness them so keen and professional was a breath of fresh air compared to other hotels I have stayed in and there have been young rude employers that expect everything.

I was travelling for work purposes attending a conference at the nearby University of Huddersfield. The location was excellent - just a five minute walk to the University. In the evenings, the location was also ideal for strolling round the town which has good shops and lots of lovely restaurants. There was no noise at night time. The Hotel is in a beautiful old listed building and it has been modernised and decorated very tastefully. My room was immaculately clean and very comfortable, and every day was serviced properly with plenty of fresh towels. The breakfast was absolutely lovely, and the restaurant staff were most welcoming and kind. The Reception staff were welcoming, professional, very kind and helpful.

Great Staff, perfect location for Huddersfield, rooms are good size and there is a mini bar in the room with a supply of drinks and snacks available at a premium. The hotel lloked generally clean, and the beds were comfortable.

The Breakfast was an additional £15, and was quite poor, with no fruit available and limited choices, this is one of those hotels where everything is an extra. The Shower showed signs of wear, and will need renewal in the not so distant future. The room i had, had a very small window, so was quite dark,

The room was spacious and beautiful. The bed was very comfortable, and it was very quiet which surprised me given its location. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough to help us. The minibar in the room was a nice touch as well. We also had breakfast in the morning, which was delicious and was a very large portion. I definitely felt full afterwards. I would definitely stay here again.

The breakfast was a little expensive, perhaps a little more than I would have liked to pay but it was delicious, and I would get it again. Also, we couldn't seem to get the phone in the room to work as it said there was no service, but that wasn't a huge deal as the reception was only 10 seconds away.

£85 for one night did seem a tad steep at first, but quickly realised we actually got a bit of a bargain. Friendly staff, excellent decor in both the room and in public areas. Central heating worked fine (It *IS* December in Yorkshire and is therefore a must), TV with Netflix was a nice bonus I wasn't aware of when booking. As a light sleeper some background noise does help me drift off, the comfy bed also helped with providing a good night's sleep. Didn't have breakfast but the price seemed very reasonable at £7.99pp. Lastly, knowing the hotel was only accessibly with a swipecard after 9pm did make us feel a tad more secure. Overall a lovely night's stay in Hudds!

Not that it put a dampner on our stay, the bathrobe material felt very coarse and rough.

This is a newly refurbished hotel, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The staff are exceptional, soooo helpful and polite and friendly best staff ever 😀😀 lovely beds and towels tissues toiletries robes, very nicely done. Lovely cleaners 😃

Oh my goodness I’ve never been as hot in my life why would you refurb an old building into a hotel and not put in air con? Plus depending on your room you might not get a window - avoid the top floor 301 302 like ovens! No point having fans to waft hot air about! 203 is much better. Plus the fixtures and furnishings are great lovely beds and towels and toiletries but mirrors etc not there and not in the right place. Given that this is likely to be booked pre weddings because of proximity to town hall the rooms could have been better thought out they were clearly designed by a man!!

Breakfast - toast is more like warm bread but when I requested it to be toasted more it was perfect. Breakfast sausages were spicy, which was a shame as I left mine and they were really good quality but just not appropriate for breakfast The blinds in the bedroom let too much light in, it could do with a different style of blind No plug socket next to a mirror so I couldn't see when drying my hair

The room was clean and comfortable, meeting expectations. This is ideally-located for the town centre but in a quiet street so there was very little noise from outside. It's around a 10-minute walk from the station so if you've got luggage make sure it has wheels on. Staff were pleasant and welcoming. The hotel is quite small and the old building is very solid, so there was no noticeable noise from other guests. It is not a place for views out to the scenery but if you value the central location more than that you will find this place very handy.

Some reviews mention the overheating of rooms and it did seem possible that the heating system in this old refurbished building may need some attention. Nevertheless it is worth enquiring when you book - we asked for a room with an opening window, and were allocated one, so it wasn't a problem. We also found it was possible to turn the radiator level down.

Breakfast was very nice but the sausages were a little bit too spicy. We had to book this hotel as the one we were supposed to be staying in cancelled us and we were on our way to a wedding reception in Huddersfield from the West Midlands, we did not have any time to look where the location was . But it was fine and the hotel was very nice as it was done without reviews.

When we came back on Saturday night we could not park on the hotel grounds so had to leave the car on a pay and display open car park, which cost us £15.00, which was just another additional cost. The car park facilities at the hotel are not great at all, but given the situation of the hotel there really is not any alternatives they can offer.

the staff where very friendly and helpful nothing was a problem and room was beautiful even little chocolates on the bed. will use again.

the breakfast was ok but no fresh fruit except 1st morning just scrapings from bowl and then nothing other days. sausage and bacon not to our liking but the scrambled egg was lovely really nice. wouldn’t let this put me off staying again as everything else was great
