The food was excellent as was the service. The portion size is generous and the quality is first rate. The room was well appointed, clean and comfortable We didn't ask for a quiet room but even directly above the bar and facing 2 pubs there was very little noise. Parking in Dartmouth is terrible but the provision of a parking pass for the main car park was very good, we were able to leave the car and walk around easily. We came to visit our son at the Naval college and it was a short walk so very convenient.

I can't find a fault, this isn't a modern building so steps should be expected, the room was small but well set up and the facilities were everything you needed and you could ask if you wanted something different. I

A stylish and comfortable small hotel, well located opposite the old market hall, with welcoming friendly service. Decor is excellent with lots of artworks including local artists. Communication regarding my request for a quiet room, and leading up to our stay was excellent. WiFi was very good and there were repeaters throughout the property. Like everywhere in Dartmouth, there is no private parking, but a parking permit for the main Mayor’s Avenue car park was provided. Breakfasts were excellent, with a wide choice and good quality ingredients. Our room was good, with a great choice of teas and coffee. The ensuite was well equipped, with a bath and separate walk-in powerful shower, and it was nice to have a cabinet for our toiletries and kit.

The duvet really needed to be larger, it only just covered the width of the bed. The plumbing must be very dated. Neither the shower or basin would drain properly, the shower tray quickly filling up and would probably overflow if a long shower was taken. We didn’t try the the bath, but the noises from the bath waste when draining the basin were tuneful and amusing! The toilet paper was very cheap and flimsy.

Super friendly, welcoming staff with a professional touch. Our room was beautiful and clean with a comfy bed. Amazing breakfast with lots of options and very generous portions. Really well cooked and presented. 😃 We dined in their wonderful little bistro which was available for guests/non guests. Again, the menu had a touch of finesse, dishes available for every dietary need - superb! Great wines, beers and ciders. A great vibe, a warm, relaxing ambience with lots of candles and great background music! 😃

This is a family run hotel and it shows in the level of service you receive. A team who really care about you and just as importantly the staff they employ. My first choice of somewhere to stay in Dartmouth.

Dinner service got a bit haphazard on the Saturday night but it was the Dartmouth music festival and they had a great singer on so it was very full. However, the staff and owners worked their socks off and kept smiling and we all had a great night - I think that’s another compliment!

Rooms tastefully decorated, well serviced. Clean. Great bar. Great breakfast. Friendly, homely feel. Parking voucher for main town car park provided.

Some rowdiness from outside street revellers and the noise of the gulls overnight - tho not within the control of the hotel! Bit more direction and focus at breakfast would be good. Took half an hour to get our cooked breakfast on first morning; we (and other guests) weren’t sure of the procedure for ordering; other guests that arrived after us were served before we were, and got their breakfast first; coffee/tea orders taken separately before breakfast order, with a long gap in between.

Great location close to the restaurants and waterfront. Staff were helpful and courteous. Our room had been recently updated and was suitable for two people staying for the weekend. Breakfast was good.

Bathroom was on the small size, with a minuscule sink that seems to have become the norm recently. It was spotless though, so more like a minor gripe. There is a pub across the street and the local Conservative club that had live music events - the noise had died down after midnight so it was not a huge issue for us.

The Location was excellent, with a good arm, a stones throw from the river, car parking arrangements worked well when we stayed. All the food we ate while staying was to a high standard with dinner being one of the better meals I have ever eaten. the room was very comfortable, quiet and warm with all you needed to stay and some of the character of an old building still evident which is a pleasant change in theses days of dead square corporate decorated hotels. We had a room with a massive bed which was super comfortable. What made the stay superb was the staff, they were all very friendly helpful and good at making us feel very welcome be it at breakfast, on arrival or in the evening, they could not have been better. If you want to eat in different places instead of the same place every night, there are a selection of good eateries else where within easy walking. With post Brexit and Covid staffing issues it pays to book up wherever you choose to eat which would probably include here in busy times. Dartmouth as an area is a good location to stay and to explore from with ferries across to Kingswear, Boat trips, Steam railway, good selection of shops.

we loved our stay and will no hesitate to return, not much could be make the stay better. The Bathroom we had was nearing time for an upgrade. And plugs nearer both sides of the bed to charge the inevitable phone.

Dropped in for a night to celebrate birthday. Comfortable double room on second floor, a little compact but all well organised. Stairs steep for some. No lift. Reception very helpful and nice to have welcome glass of prosecco. Staff all charming. Very competent breakfast.

We were fortunate to be able to park in the street outside the front door. Otherwise a bit of a walk from busy car parks in town centre.

Our hosts, Michael and Susan, were wonderful, always friendly and helpful. They have put their heart and soul into this hotel, and you can tell that you are in a good place and will be well looked after. Our room was beautiful, quiet, very comfortable, and toasty. We ate several meals at the Browns Bistro and recommend it highly.

There was nothing that I didn't like. Everything was perfect.

This hotel is outstanding in all respects. Great location with free easy parking. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was perfect with excellent choice . My wife and I booked for evening dinner in the bistro/restaurant and were not disappointed - superb varied menu with all dishes cooked to perfection and excellent choice of wines. Also a cosy bar with a great vibe. I will definitely be going back and would highly recommend it.

No complaints whatsoever.
