The Dairyman Suite0

Would be a lucky Dairyman who lived in a room like this at Wannock Farm. The cottage is recently refurbished with all the mod cons you might expect including a shower big enough to hold a party in! The location is an ex-farm - the current owners only own a small acreage - but there are cows in the field next door and lovely looking chickens 'chattering' in the yard (so drive with care!). Wannock Farm is about 7 miles east of Dorchester and easy to find located just opposite a watercress farm. Heading north up the road you go past the Frampton arms, over a railway track and 3 bridges before it comes up on your right. However there are numerous B roads that take you there so take your pick.

The breakfast hamper was original and I enjoyed the fruit every day (we don't get bananas like that in our supermarket!). However Martin and Tracy might like to consider offering a bit more choice e.g. bread and cheese. Just a thought and I know that I am particular with my food.

The breakfast was excellent with pastries freshly baked, and fruit and a wonderful selection of things for breakfast, delivered to the bedroom door in a basket. The rooms were spacious, with a brilliant shower which is a joy after so many very small shower cubicles in the UK. Lots of facilities such as tea and coffee, and milk and filtered water on hand. Lovely decor.

Nothing at all to complain about, but it is important to note the suite is up very steep and narrow stairs so if someone had a mobility problem it would be difficult to access. It is a historic building so this can be expected..

Tracy and Martin were excellent hosts and made us very welcome. The suite is very spacious and although the bathroom is across the landing the suite is totally private so it's not a problem. The bedroom is enormous and also the bathroom. The continental hamper breakfast was amazing. The farm buildings date back to the 1600s. The location is a bit remote so a car is essential but the nearest pub/restaurant we were directly to was only a couple of minutes drive away and the food there was excellent. Thanks Tracy and Martin for a great stay and keep up the renovation work.

The location was perfect ; we nearly stayed in Dorchester itself because we thought there would be more going on etc. We couldn't have more wrong. The location of Dairyman Suite was gorgeous. Dorchester itself was a huge disappointment and what we needed an wanted ( great place to stay and wonderful pub/restaurant with a garden - only five minutes away. The suite is gorgeous - everything and anything you could want. It was amazing for the price ! The owners are lovely - so friendly and anything we needed - but who needed anything more than was had already !?

The breakfast hamper could have included fresher croissant ,etc... they were store bought and 'chewy'

This list could go on forever, the room was so comfortable and clean. It felt like everything had been thought of, hot water bottles and robes available, colouring book and board games alongside books and TV for entertainment, fast wifi that I was able to watch a video using. The bed was very comfy and the shower was wonderful! Parking was incredibly easy, as was check in and finding the location using the directions given. Breakfast was left outside our door in the morning in a hamper, it was lovely and plenty of food and options were supplied. Dietary requirements were catered for (my husband is vegan). Tracy was easy to contact and was kind enough to give us a recommendation for dinner when we were struggling to find somewhere that was good for a vegan and a vegetarian. I can't wait to return again, one night just wasn't enough.

I'm really reaching to think of anything I would say I didn't like. My only comment would be that the pipes for the heating were quite noisy in the bedroom, but it is an old farmhouse so we expected this. The interior is beautifully done up, I almost forgot it's an old farm house until I looked out the window and can see the edge of the thatch roof.

Access was easy and it's nice that the entrance to the suite is separate from the main house. The room was lovely! It's a beautiful old house so a little chilly (we had exceptionally cold weather) but the room has lots of lovely warm blankets and hot water bottles so we were very cosy. The bathroom is a great size and so is the shower. Water pressure was really good. The breakfast hamper in the morning was delightful - lots of things to enjoy and even some orange juice. There's also fresh milk in the little fridge for teas and coffees, which are provided. There's even breakfast trays so you can have breakfast in bed! We were visiting Monkey World which is only a short drive away so the location was spot on for us. There are also some nice pubs a short drive away, and Tracy was very helpful when I asked for some suggestions. All in all a really lovely stay - clean, cosy, spacious, and nice and helpful hosts. We hope we can make it back at some point

There's nothing we didn't like

Spacious room, bigger than most I’ve been to. There were lovely trays for breakfast in bed, robes, a mini fridge and teas/coffee. It was peaceful. Good shower. Owner puts lots of time and effort into making sure everything was well presented and thoroughly thought out.

Oven baked croissants would be amazing! Just to have that nice crispy outer, makes all the difference. Tv instructions for the remotes maybe, I’m utterly useless with remotes so couldn’t get the tv going, but that was maybe just me, I could have nipped and asked but it was no big deal. Neither essential as the place was brilliant.

Wonderful location, amazing facilities, really liked the little touches like trays to have a breakfast in bed, bathrobes and a basket with breakfast left outside of the room for when you are ready for it. The owners make sure you feel welcome and can unwind in their beautiful home. One of the most beautiful guest bathrooms l have ever seen! Also a nice selection of books and extra blankets are always lovely to have. Thank you so much, we had a wonderful time.

Great place to stay for a few days. Very comfortable and close to interesting locations. Loved the chickens.

We really liked everything about our stay. The lovely basket with breakfast was great. Yummy cereal yogurt and juice. I would ditch the croissants unless you can buy fresh ones. ( Sorry not being rude but it would be far superior without them...either add a third cereal maybe granola or substitute them for something else)

An excellent little property which by far exceeded our expectations. Tracy was a warm and welcoming host and we felt relaxed as soon as we arrived. Our room was so spacious and tastefully decorated, Tracy was very knowledgable about the local area and suggested some excellent places to visit, the room had everything that we could have needed and it was topped off by a beautiful breakfast hamper (gluten free which I was delighted about!) this was the perfect location for our anniversary getaway and we would love to visit again!
