Good friendly welcome lovely cabin that was warm and clean. Comfortable bed .Good location to see Dorset.

Our only criticism would be that the cooked breakfast was small, especially for my husband. Consisted of one sausage one egg one slice of bacon a small pot of beans and one slice of toast! He could of eaten 2 or 3 😁 . For the price, we expected a little more, although I don't think this would stop us returning but if you like a big hearty breakfast with all the trimmings, you won't get that here. Also no fresh fruit on the continental and pastries were minimal and shop bought packaged items.

Great little place away from the madding crowds in Dorset, due to its more isolated rural location away from the coast. Nice little bar / restaurant. Clean, adequate chalets (but quite small). There is no TV so if you rely on this to amuse yourselves at night, you might want to think again. Not an issue for us though as we are big readers. Very quiet. Nice friendly staff. Nice breakfast (Cereal, fruit, yogurt, juice and a cooked breakfast with tea/coffee)

Only issue was that it wasn't open on the day we arrived and we had hoped to get dinner there as it is a rural location. There are a couple of good pubs a few miles down the road (but these are farmers tracks / narrow lanes) and was not keen to drive at night. If you don't like the smell of the great outdoors (ie strong manure smell at times from neighbouring farmer's fields) then you could struggle. Otherwise, great little place.

Have just got home from a week here and we loved every minute of it. Great accommodation, excellent breakfast and the food in the pub was great. It is in a great spot for visiting many different places close by, we visited Swanage, Lyme Regis,Sherborne, Poole and went on a 2hr boat trip around the Jurassic coast, Old Sarum Castle, Salisbury, Bournemouth, Tout Quarry sculpture Park, Durdle Door, Weymouth. William, Linny and their children and staff are the perfect hosts and made us so welcome. We are definitely going to return.

The owners / hosts were very friendly. Will especially worked really hard and cooked us lovely breakfasts each morning. The decking was very slippery and they were both concerned we didn't slip, I suggested maybe putting some rubber mats down and when we came back from our day out there were mats which really helped. I would recommend staying here as the hosts were fairly new at this and I expect in a short time the place will be even better.

We stayed for 7nights and our room was not cleaned throughout our stay. The bathroom especially needed a clean and the bins emptying. Having said that the lady owner had hurt her arm and was in a sling for the last few days of our stay and Will did ask us the day before we were leaving if we needed anything for our room and apologised for not asking sooner. I felt bad to complain as he had been coping on his own.

A lovely little find tucked away. We were visiting Langham wine estate for a tasting tour and found this nearby, which was ideal! A really interesting place with lovely homely decor. We stayed in one of the cabins which was bigger than we were expecting, clean, comfy and a great shower too! Definitely more fun and unique than a hotel. We had dinner and breakfast at the pub too which we really enjoyed. The staff were fantastic, there for anything we needed and super caring to ensure we had a relaxing stay which we did. Would definitely recommend and would like to come back again in the summer!

Nothing!

The food was very good and with a good selection of drinks. The chalet was spotless and big enough for our needs. It was very quiet at nights which ensured a good night's sleep. William and Lyndil were very welcoming and friendly hosts. They inspired a very relaxing and cosy atmosphere and this led to a very chilled out and enjoyable 4-day stay for us.

If booking you need to be aware it is quite a steep walk up to the chalets and not for anyone with walking difficulties.

The cabin was beautifully prepared, clean and very homely. Without a TV, it was ideal for relaxing! The owners were delightful and very welcoming, offering exceptional service. upon arrival, we were greeted and immediately shown around, offered a parking spot 5m from the cabin and settled in. breakfast (we chose egg & toast to go ‘light’) was delicious and enjoyed with a nice sunny view of the fields opposite and farm buildings, adding to the scenery. Very much enjoyed, likely to return!

We were very impressed with our stay and found the staff & facilities met our expectations, to include top marks for the monetary value of our stay. We will certainly stay again at this hotel when we next venture into Dorset. We loved learning about the history of the area and the reason why the hotel is called The Rivers Arms. We wish the owners the very best of fortune with their hotel.

Nothing springs to mind.

Absolutely fantastic hosts, from the clientele to the staff to the owners really nice people. I was visiting the Bovington Tank Museum for research on a book I'm currently writing. The Museum is only a 25min drive and Stone henge approximately 1hr by car. The peaceful surroundings and scenery made my visit a joyful experience.
