the doors all closed with a bang which woke me up as I was the room next to the door to the corridor. understand why they are needed but the door closer could be adjusted slightly to alleviate the sound level

Staff very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Restaurant menu has many choices and the carvery is really good, as are the drinks choices. Excellent and plentiful pork crackling! Free parking, usb sockets by bed, 24hr access by keyfob, very quiet room. Large comfy bed and pillows. Fan in room. Free toiletries including shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and I loved the vegetable soap. Great location too. Nice building, easy to spot whilst driving and clear signs to car park.

2 minor things. One pair of usb sockets by the bed didn't work but the other side pair did. I couldn't unplug the bathroom sink! Stayed full overnight so couldn’t use in morning. Had to use shower instead to wash hands, face, brush teeth and fill kettle.

The room was a reasonable size. The bed was firm and comfortable. It was hot, and there was a fan in the room without having to ask for one. There was a problem at breakfast because a bird flew in when the door opened, meaning for health and hygiene reasons, they had to remove and clean everything from the dining room. We couldn't have breakfast because we had time restrictions. But the staff were very helpful and refunded the price of breakfast and directed us to a lovely café. They were under a lot of stress but remained professional and helpful.

The lights beside the bed could not turn off individually, and the light on the bathroom mirror also couldn't be used individually. So if one person wanted to read, all the room lights had to be on. Similarly, you can't leave the little mirror lights as a night light. We wanted a hot chocolate before bed but they turned off the machine nearly an hour before closing time in the bar.

the staff were very friendly and welcoming nothing was to much trouble, the room was excellent, clean, and cool which was good as the hottest weekend of the year , a fan was also supplied (no AC) very quite during the night , the breakfast had a variety of items all which were well cooked and fresh , also opposite the main line into London (London Bridge and Charing Cross) all in all an excellent place to stay for family or couple or single ,

Air conditioning would of been nice in my room but my room was cool and a fan was supplied so was not uncomfortable

Room very good in size and facilities excellent but this time had a very hard bed in room 4 - woke up a few times uncomfortable. Previously a very comfy room upstairs on the left side

I wish there was a choice of some fruit at breakfast to have with cereal. I know you can request cereal but to have some nice crusty bread rather than just the packet/sliced bread would be superb. My reasons for comments above - people not always necessarily want a fry up at breakfast after a good dinner at Toby late in the evening before - just cereal, fruit and nice toast with preserves or marmite would be perfect; appreciate not everyone’s taste

Anytime check-in (as long as you let them know in advance). Fresh clean quiet room. Free parking for overnight guests. Close proximity to Crystal Palace. Good value for money at the Toby Carvery.

Bit of confusion when I checked in late. I don't think my advance notice had been passed on to the night porter. Thankfully he resolved the issue for me. The room was lovely but very warm in the hot weather. Only a small window for some fresh air. Late check-out not an option.

Wifi not great for non British people and also asks personal questions which should not be asked, ie your birth date. Totally inappropriate and you could not get connected without entering it. The hotel manager was excellent and well versed in helping me to get connected. Unfortunately the wifi goes down when you are not using it and we couldn’t get it to activate again and other employees were unable to help when the manager wasn’t there. Also, we did appreciate the ice and ice water but after watching everyone refilling their water bottles and touching the funnel with their bottles it made me feel uncomfortable as that is how viruses spread. A more hygienic system needs to be installed. The staff was very personal despite terrible heat.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and will definitely be coming back again. The staff were so lovely and it really made our trip too. The breakfast was wonderful, really enjoyed it and was nice to eat in the conservatory. The bed was really comfortable and slept so well there. Spacious room and a room upstairs too, it felt like had our own little chalet! The location is fantastic, only a 2 minute walk in the centre and so peaceful; best nights sleep I have ever had in a hotel and the area itself where the hotel is is very peaceful; rarely hear a sound other than the birds, bliss! I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Quiet location not on busy road , parking easy. Staff were superb and room was clean and the hotel facilities were great all around great place to stay , breakfast was to greasy but we dined in the evening and the carvery was exceptional .

The cost of breakfast and coffee was expensive and there was no healthy option I paid £7.49 for a sausage, egg , hash brown and 2 toast and egg was swimming in grease .

the room was comfortable and clean, it was a good size and plenty of tea/coffee. the bed was a nice size, a little on the hard side but I like that. Good shower and nice sized bathroom friendly staff too, would definitely use innkeepers again looked out the window in the morning at the manageress was little picking the car park. Impressed with that

it could've been looking out on to the beach in Barbados , but I don't think that was possible.
