As the owners of a 47kg Newfoundland cross we pick our accommodation first and foremost by how well they cater to our furry child. In the Wheatsheaf's case they genuinely could not have been lovelier - they were extremely welcoming of our dog (Dave) from the second we entered the bar until we left three days / two nights later. The staff paid him loads of fuss in the bar area and at breakfast he got a sausage every morning cut up in a bowl :-) Otherwise, the prices are reasonable and the food really good - strongly recommend the lamb pinwheels if you want a hearty meal, especially if you did the Yorkshire 3 Peaks that day! The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable - and the staff were without exception friendly and welcoming. Another little plus point is that the night before the walk I asked the staff if they had a tap I could use to fill up a walking water bladder. In response, the pub's owner took me into the kitchen to use one of the big sinks - a small touch but something he didn't have to do and I really appreciated it. Also, consider reaching out to them directly when booking. Just saying...

The pillows are rubbish - pretty much the only issue we had with the place!

Very good value for money for solo traveller. Room very spacious and bed comfortable. Hot water always there. No bath but good shower. Good supply and selection of complimentary drinks. The pub is clearly popular with locals. You can eat in the bar but there is a huge dining room where breakfast is served, which was very good with wide choice for carnivores and vegans alike. Ample parking.

I have no complaints for the price. I like a cosier pub but that is not a complaint and choice of draft beers is very limited noting this is very much low season.

Everything was just great! Lovely and very helpful staff. We stayed with our nervous dog and the staff never minded bringing her down to stay with us in the dinning area or to bring our food upstairs. Offered tasty snacks for her as well :). The place offers nice vegan options, for both, breakfast and dinner. I had oat milk brought straight to our table to make sure I could have it in my coffee. :) The location is perfect for nice walks, very close to waterfalls trail and only few minutes drive from the Ribblehead Viaduct. Room was lovely and clean. There was also a supply of tea, coffee and some hot chocolate! I highly recommend this place!

Reception very friendly, shower room ok but not super luxury, location and long distance view from window excellent, breakfast and dinner very good and very filling. It was good to have a bar on tap, so to speak, especially as the nights are now drawing in, but a stroll round the village before dinner unlocked a hidden gem.

The television arrangements. That is to say the choice of channels was not as great as we have experienced elsewhere. A bit of modernisation would not go amiss such as the key arrangements. In this day and age electronic locking is becoming standard because people do not like having to carry a four inch piece of wood and a two inch piece of metal attached, here, there, and everywhere.

Situated right in town and above the Pub was very convenient, with lots of parking. Provided breakfast was excellent with quite a few options, as were meals from the pub itself. Room was reasonable sized and clean. Easy walking distance around town to other food options as well as to the Ingleton Waterfalls Train.

The pub downstairs can be a bit noisy until 11pm but that didn't really bother us.

The Wheatsheaf exceeded our expectations Firstly, location was perfect. The booking process was trouble free ;our questions,re. parking,(communicated via email) were answered promptly. On arrival, staff were welcoming and efficient We had dinner, which we had pre-booked and breakfast the following day. Breakfast was included in the price It was delicious and plentiful. Dinner was served in the dining room which was light and airy, There was a good choice of starters and mains-all reasonably priced. Parking was available on site. There is also a large beer garden to the rear of the property.

If only we had been able to stay for longer!

Our room overlooked the village and the mountains in the distance, the choice of breakfast and the evening dinner served was excellent. Could not ask for more. I would recommend this place and would stay again myself.

On the Wednesday evening we were served by a young waiter who seemed to be running the pub apart from the chef. Although we got our evening meal pretty quick the dirty plates were left on the table until me went to our room, we were not offered any desert and trying to get a drink was ridiculous, It was not through the number of people in the Pub (six at the most). it was just that she was no where to be seen, although their seemed be a lot of laughter coming from the kitchen. When she did come to check the bar there was no apology.

Staff are this hotel's biggest asset. Every single person we met was so helpful, friendly and the way they spoke to each other created a really pleasant, harmonious atmosphere. High ceilings, clean throughout (rare for a traditional Inn with so many nooks to collect dust) and excellent food for dinner and breakfast.

Shower rail needs attention - holder for shower head keeps sliding down and wont grip. Cheap, quick fix however - just forgot to tell the staff hence mentioning it here so they see it (room was Creeping Steads).

Stayed for 3 nights with our dog. The location was great for walking. Excellent breakfast set us up for the day (even for Duke our dog). Ate in the pub every night, the choice and quality of the food was very good. All of the staff were friendly and helpful especially Kelly. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a dog friendly walking break.

There was nothing to criticise.

Very friendly welcome on arrival and a great room that was warm with comfortable beds. Water tea and coffee bags in the room which was great compared to instant coffee. The food in the pub was great. I had the Vegan burger and chips. It was fantastic

Very disappointed with the Vegan breakfast. The other breakfasts looked fantastic with 2x sausages, 2x eggs, 2x bacon, 2x black pudding beans mushrooms and a tomato. The vegan breakfast consisted of just 2x sausages, 5 button mushrooms, small pot of beans and 1x tomato. I'd have liked more food like hash browns and possibly sliced Avacado. I filled up on toast but there was also no vegan butter/spread.
