The Monkey House B&B0

The Monkey House B&B is a lovely little place to stay in the small town of Stone. We were made to feel very welcome by the hosts Chrissie and Noel (and of course little Bella). We were given most of the top floor and a living room to ourselves with two great rooms with plenty of space and comfiness. Would recommend if you are planning to stay in the area for a couple of days.

If I had to write anything it's that the breakfast options were limited and not cooked but if that's the only thing I can complain about I think we're onto a winner.

Chrissie and Noel were very welcoming. Bella the dog was well behaved and friendly. The room was clean, tidy and very comfortable. There were tea making facilities available upstairs too. The bathroom was clean and tidy and the shower was hot and powerful. House rules were reasonable. Breakfast was great: I don't eat a lot for breakfast but there is plenty if you are a foodie.

It would be good to be able to eat upstairs, but there were no problems with using the kitchen. Struggling to think of anything that I didn't like.

Christina and Noel were both fantastic hosts. They were friendly and extremely responsive right from when we first booked and had queries about whether the room would be suitable for us if travelling with a baby. Christine was also very helpful on the day we were due to check in - for some reason the booking was not showing my end on the website, leaving us a bit concerned! We were surprised to find out that they had not long been running as a B&B, they gave the appearance that they had been in the business for years. They were always asking if there was anything else we needed and offered to go and buy alternatives for breakfast, but we really couldn't have needed anything else there. It was particularly unexpected and a lovely touch that they had a high chair, making breakfast with our 10 month old a lot easier. I also do not think that I have ever come across a property with such high cleaning standards. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

Really wouldn't be able to think of anything!

Chrissie and Noel were wonderful hosts - kind, friendly, extremely helpful, good communication before our stay. Comfortable bed, spotlessly clean room, storage space, good shower. Breakfast of fruit juice, cereals, toast, spreads and tea and coffee. Separate room where one could make tea and coffee. We didn’t use it but there was also use of downstairs lounge with TV available.

Only downside was a shared bathroom but I think this is reflected in the price and is made clear in the booking information. It would be ideal for a family. We had to leave quite early in the morning and Chrissie had very kindly liaised with the other guests so that we could use the bathroom before them.

Extremely pleasant, friendly and a accommodating couple who I found a pleasure to chat too when at the property. Beautiful back garden and well decorated property with all the facilities required to hand. Ideally located for alton towers and other surrounding cities. You won't find a better price or property in this area. I left feeling like it was a pleasure to stay there and my 10 year old boy who can be reserved at times had no issues telling his stories when at the property. 5stars

I couldn't fault my stay in the slightest

the only thing that needs to change is the put-u-up single bed just needs proper single bed that doesn't move when sleeper moves. layout and hosts including dog bella were like a family. have the run of the visitor areas and just ask if you wanted anything. We treated them with the same respect that they showed us. loved it. if only all b&bs could be like this thanks to Noel & Chrissie.

Hosts are super friendly and welcoming. House is immaculate and Bella the labradoodle is super cute 🥰 everything we needed and more was provided and the hosts were really helpful with directions and advice on places to go. There was even a personalised welcome board with a picture of a rollercoaster as we were headed to Alton Towers! I’ve never felt so welcome in someone else’s home.

A TV in the bedroom would have been nice

The accomodation was spotless, cosy and very welcoming. It was situated in an excellent place with only a few minute walk to the centre of town. The hosts were lovely and nothering was too much bother. We had lovely bedrooms, our own bathroom, study/coffee and tea facilities and our own lounge to relax in after a hard day kayaking, we also had use of the kitchen as and when we needed it.

There was nothing that I didn't like

Good location with short walk to Stone town centre. Spotlessly clean and homely. The hosts, Chrissie & Noel, were lovely and couldn’t do enough for you.

Sharing the bathroom with the other occupant, even though didn’t cross paths once. Front bedroom (twin) would benefit from a wall or long mirror

lovely house and room, very clean and well equipped and Chrissy and Noel were great hosts.

would have preferred the bathroom to have been en-suite and not shared but having said that it was spotless and 2 steps from the bedroom door so a minor thing.
