No parking but arranged by the hotel at £6.80 per day some half mile away - able to drop luggage at hotel prior to parking & able to drive to pick up Food excellent - recognised by Trenchernan Group for excellence was in our opinion to be of the highest standard. Front of house appear totally female all of the highest standard & all without exception most helpful Great outside terrace overlooking estuary

Due to age of property & size no lift stairs to 1 / 2 / 3 floors. Initially located on 2nd but moved to first much better for those of us in our 80s with mobility problems. Room No 9:second floor - 2nd floor - has on en-suite facilities down 6 steps - not good so moved after one night - EXCELLENT HELP FROM GENERAL MANAGER

I had never been to Fowey before and so picked the hotel by previous reviews and info. So pleased I chose The Old Quay. Right in the middle of the town with shops and restaurants a few steps away. As it describes there is no immediate parking so dropped my luggage and parked ten minutes walk up the road. Didn’t bother using my car for the rest of the stay as didn’t need to on a short trip. All the staff were so lovely and helpful. Breakfast was great. Freshly cooked and a great view of the river from the Restaurant. Lovely room - they thought if everything even eat plugs due to the seagulls! I will definitely visit again.

No complaints at all. It is expensive but you get what you pay for.

Helpful staff at reception and attentive restaurant staff, too. Lovely position by the water and in the centre of Fowey. Mostly very good food and drinks with a set menu for dinner. Also had an allocated car park for £6.50.

Some items in the bedroom a little tired with cracked tiles in the bathroom and hand soap dispenser that had trouble dispensing. ( Hate that many hotels have a soap dispenser at the sink that is either empty or mechanism defective.) Main courses in the restaurant were a let down with overcooking and a lack of flavour. The bathroom robes on the door meant that you couldn’t keep door closed while using the facilities. The bath was quite difficult to climb over to access the shower. All minor defects but slightly marred the experience of being in a upmarket hotel.

We paid for a water facing room and probably had the best room right on the water. Very spacious room and bathroom. No lift so plenty of exercise. The patio was lovely. Hotel is well maintained. Would definately recommend.

The restaurant food lacked flavour. Looked and sounds good but quite bland. Be prepared to stop your car at the front, through your bags out on the pavement with a member of your party and keep driving on to patk at a public carpark. The roads are so narrow and tight that you will be blocking all traffuc when you stop.

The location of the hotel is perfection! Stunning views of the river from our room and terrace. The hotel is calm and relaxing - perfect place to unwind! The staff are lovely and friendly while maintaining high standards. Our room was bright and airy with two Juliette balconies, making the most of the views. The bed was large and comfy, facing the river so the view welcomes you every morning.

Nothing to dislike!

Charming chic stylish abode , excellent attention to detail with helpful staff ( eg dietary requirements) and superb food dinner and breakfast . Comfortable huge bed in spacious room, warm , with large en-suite with powerful shower and plenty of hot water , with dinky balcony off bedroom with riverside views .Fragrant toiletries, fluffy towels and bathrobes , Coffee machine, hairdresser quality hairdryer with long lead . Would love to return . We felt so very comfortable .

So some people will not like fact that car parking is 800 metres away in car park but the streets are tiny, parking restricted everywhere and that’s the charm of Fowey. The information from the hotel made dropping off of luggage and picking up easy and walking is healthy ! We had no problems with it .

Perfekt location, nice and friendly personal, good food (breakfast and dinner), lovely view from our room to the river, good bathroom with tap and shower.

Parking is difficult as the next long stay parking place is about in about 600 m distance from the hotel - and we had the problem that all places were occupied when we arrived in the evening (parked the car in the "second" line without problems). Reasonable price. However, what is a 600 m walk in that lovely area, as you can unload the car in front of the hotel.

Separate toilet. Smart Tv. Very comfortable lounge with stunning views of estuary. Great breakfast. Lovely friendly staff.

Loft was very spacious but the bed set up was a little awkward as the ceiling was a-shaped which made it easy to hit your head. Seagulls were also nesting and although we love nature and birds especially, they did disturb our sleeping. Bed was on a bit of a plinth which meant you needed to step up and duck your head at the same time.

Excellent meals - evening meal and the breakfasts were exceptional. Lovely well-coming receptionist when we arrived. Car parking up the road at the old station was convenient & an almost level walk there. Our room, room 3, clean & tidy with en suite but it did get the smells from the extractor fan ( window open as warm room) and noise from the stairs/squeaky floorboards. Comfortable though. If we come again then we will book a room overlooking the river/estuary.

Next time we will opt for a room overlooking the river so that we have a decent view. Our fault for not checking when we booked. Smells from extractor fan in the kitchen below & noise from squeaky treads on the stairs.

Reception, friendly, very professional and looked after my additional request. Breakfast was excellent as was all the food we tried. Room was clean, serviced daily had everything you would need for a short break and location of the hotel was very central

At the time of booking our stay we booked a table for dinner but when being shown to a table against the wall facing away from the view. I asked about a different table but the waitress said we hadn't 'reserved our table' (we weren't walk in) OK was disappointed as there was only 2 other tables seated at the time. All other diners who were seated after us must of 'reserved tables' as all seated at tables facing views. Food was good but felt sad and upset by treatment. If you are booking a table in the restaurant it might be a good idea to also 'reserve your table' as the views make the room
