A very authentic experience in this traditional, family run pub/inn/hotel. Fowey is not London or New York so the pace here is a bit slower and all the better for it. It is in a terrific location....a short stroll down to the waterfront with plenty of coming and going around the harbour. My son and I stayed on a Saturday night and the pub band played till about half ten-ish (classic rock, anyone?) but we were holiday giddy so it didn't bother us and the beds are very comfortable so all was good. Breakfast served from about 8.30am and it was a absolutely perfect with a great pot of tea! We would highly recommend staying here. Well done all involved.

This is not a criticism but given the nature of the building I would guess getting around could be a challenge for someone not great on their feet. The stairs are steep and the whole building is on different levels.

Excellent location, with parking, which is a hard thing to find in Fowey. It was a few seconds walk from The Parish Hall, which is where I was working. Breakfast was surprisingly good. Lovely view down over the town and the bay.

It was Eurovision night and there was a covers band on. So while we were in our hotel room trying to hear some awful songs sung by ninnies in silly costumes, it was slightly drowned out by the greatest hits of the 70s and 80s. Probably a good idea to check, if you're staying Saturday night, whether it's live music night. The bathroom's not the most recently refurbished, but it was bearable.

Great pub for locals and visitors with a friendly atmosphere. The room was small, but nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Perfect for a night off from hiking along the coast path.

I had hurt my back so I couldn't take advantage of some of the facilities and ended up not having a meal, so I was really looking forward to a filling breakfast. There was lots of cereals, and the cooked breakfast was excellent, but the portion size (given that I hadn't eaten for 18 hours) could have been a little bigger. But it was delicious.

We really liked the , comfort, friendliness and position of Safe Harbour Hotel in relation to the town. Less than 10 minutes walk back up on a gentle incline. Parking was at the back of the Hotel which takes the stress out of going to find public parking, car parks. Overall we definitely will be visiting again. Breakfast had a good selection to choose from and was cooked to order.

We really couldn’t find anything to pin point as being unhappy about.welcoming

The location was excellent. The room was serviced which was a bonus it seems as other hotels we stayed on this trip were not. The continental breakfast was excellent. The views from our room were lovely. We were able to park the car in the hotel car park and leave it there for the three nights untouched!

There were no staff available to answer questions. We were not told how the breakfast worked bearing in mind there were no staff on hand. We would have had to take hot drinks down to breakfast from our room which entailed walking down a steep flight of stairs and through a fire door on a curved flight of stairs. We would have appreciated an explanation about this on arrival.

A colorful property with inn rooms above the pub. Very authentic. Fabulous view and spacious room. One of those places that grows on you the longer you’re there. Nice choices for the breakfast, which was included, and the best seafood chowder I’ve ever had. (A nice bonus is the bus stop is right outside the front door.)

The stairs were steep. The town center was close, but down a steep incline. But a town van can drive you up for 2 pounds.

Everything was great. Loved having a room with a view. Small room but perfectly equipped and quality finishes (photos on booking don’t really do it justice). Breakfast was excellent, bed was comfortable, and a great location. Lovely staff.

Very little to complain about. Parking wasn’t obvious and a bit tricky to manoeuvre. Hallway is due a new carpet and coat of paint.

The food at the property was exceptional nowhere else I know does home cooked food these days and they pulled it off magically. The menu changes daily which is great nice for customers to sample new dishes. The staff were friendly and you get great views of the harbour as well to top it off. Probably the best stay I have had in any hotel bar none spectacular.

Nothing there is nothing bad to say.

Friendliness of host and staff

Breakfast was ok. Sausage and bacon very dry and hard Lots of waiting but they had a shortage of staff. Our room was up a very narrow and steep set of stairs. As I have to use a crutch for support i found it very hard to go to our room. (Many places now say unsuitable for people with mobility issues and I think this should have been stated)

Proper pub with proper Proper Job - that's proper - especially in a touristy town like Fowey. Great locals - didn't burn us at the stake when we won the meat draw twice - great hosts in Gill and Gra' - excellent breakfasts, locally sourced ingredients (ask for Steve's special surf n turf breakfast sandwich if you're feeling adventurous). And free PARKING!!!!
