Absolutely beautiful hotel which is maintained to 5 * standard. The staff and management are friendly, accommodating and go above and beyond to ensure that the guests are comfortable and enjoy their stay.

Nothing. I love the property.

Room was lovely, we arrived in a bit of a rush as we had a wedding to get to, on arrival we were asked what time we wanted breakfast the next morning, we needed to get back out of the hotel and to the wedding so couldn't answer and we just came down the next morning and it was fine but we were obviously in a rush to get our stuff in the room and be gone. Parking is over the road, we got back late from the wedding and there was no spaces so it was something we could have done without looking around St Austell for parking at 2am in the morning.

as above, breakfast timing for a table (they have loads and it wasn't a problem) parking isn't great and we weren't given an alternative from the hotel which might be useful. We had all our equipment for entertainment so was a risk parking with so much kit in the car, in an unknown car park a walk away, I did contact the hotel back in November about it and they did tell me we couldn't reserve parking.

The food was great! The service from staff was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, they were very attentive. A great central location to visit many places around cornwall. A lovely old building next to a church which rung the clock bells all day, it was lovely to hear and to keep time 😁

It could be noisy outside at night as youths congregated in the church grounds and also around the shopping centre. This i felt was quite intimidating at times. We were situated in a front facing room, it may be quiet at the back? I think the rooms could do with a bit of an upgrade the furniture etc is quite dated, it needs a freshen up everywhere. However, it would not put us off staying at the White Hart again. You get great value for your buck.

Overall, a nice hotel. Very central. Walking distance to the main town with shops, we even managed a visit the cinema! Easy to get to lots of other towns and activities from. Parking is just around the corner and we always got a spot. Hotel staff were really nice, welcoming and attentive. Food was really good. Breakfast was fab, with lots of things to choose from. We ate dinner there twice and we were really pleased with our meals. Big portions, tasty food, warm plates.

We had quite a small room. It was a bit tired looking. Double bed wasn't the comfiest. You seemed to roll and sink into the middle of the matress! Quite a bit of dust on the bedsides and windowsills. The bathroom could've done with a more thorough clean. It was dusty and the floor was a bit dirty. It was quite tired and dated.

The bed was comfy, and the room and bathroom were a good size and very clean. Breakfast and the service was good.

Our room was directly above the kitchen fans. We had to keep the window shut as the smell of food would have been unbearable. The fans did go off at 9.30 pm. But thank god we had the coldest and wetest summer. The back door was right next to the kitchen fans also, and this was open all the time.. The smell of food in the corridors was very strong... We tried to move rooms, but it was busy. On a positive note...I would stay again, but not in that area of the hotel.

The bedroom was one of the largest I had stayed in for a period property. The windows were also open , which was a Godsend in this warm weather. Everything was provided and the Hotel has loads of character. The staff were great and attentive even though they were busy.

I think that a better description about the parking should be included. I had to park behind the managers car and ask at reception where the car park was. Perhaps a bit more detail in the Hotel parking details would help.

The service from the staff was exceptional, the young blonde gentleman who checked us in was also our waiter and bartender during which continuing to man the reception when necessary. He did an amazing job, he was very kind, professional and had a great sense of humor which made our stay even more enjoyable. The rest of the staff are warm and friendly with a great eye for detail. The rooms were a decent size and the bed was very comfortable in my opinion. The room we stayed in was equipped with a rainfall shower with good pressure and range of temperature. The facilities look modern and well looked after. We stayed in for both dinner and breakfast the day after. The dinner service was top tier, the portion sizes, freshness and quality of the food was amazing. The quality carried over to the breakfast service. We had lots of people catering to us, the breakfast came out quickly, hot and fresh.

The only thing we could think to highlight was the confusion we had with the parking found behind the hotel across the road however the blonde gentleman who checked us in walked outside and round to the back and kindly pointed it out for us.

Very friendly staff, ideal location, good food and lovely roaring fire each night to keep warm, whilst having drinks in the bar. Lovely friendly atmosphere

We are used to a firm mattress bed, but we had a soft bouncy bed, so didn't have a great sleep Also shower wasn't brilliant

Staff are super friendly and helpful. The room we had was plenty big enough for an overnight stop with everything you needed. The bathroom was large with a bath and shower (rainfall and regular). The towels were lovely: soft and fluffy. Lovely big wardrobe should you be staying for a while. Breakfast was included.

The room we were in was right next to the kitchen extractor unit, so noisy when cooking taking place. This could be a problem if you wanted an early night or wake up beyond 8am, especially if you like to sleep with the window open. Some items of furniture could do with replacement soon: wood veneers on bedside unit were lifting and divan base of bed looked worn
