Amazing place to stay family of 3 with a 6 year old and the staff were great with his consistent questioning. We arrived on a bank holiday and they advised us of 4 local places that were still serving food as we arrived very late. Easy to access car park to the rear and they had informed me of all the information needed well prior to arrival. A lovely area with lots of shops within a short walk. Room was very clean with lots of different tea and coffee selections with biscuits in the room. Breakfast in the morning was lovely with a large selection to choose from hot and cold. Check out was at 11 which gave us more than enough time for breakfast washing and looking around the local area.

Breakfast staff were really lovely & friendly. Breakfast was delicious! We ate in the pub the night before, which was really nice & relaxing.

We knew it was a dog friendly hotel before we went but I didn’t think they’d have any rooms, so we didn’t take our Cockapoo but we wish we had. She would have had a warm welcome! The hotel works well for everyone! There’s a dog friendly area & courtyard, so you wouldn’t feel that you’re getting on the nerves of people who don’t love your dog as much as you do!! Also, everywhere & especially the rooms were immaculate. I asked how many rooms were dog friendly & was told all of them!! You wouldn’t know!! 😀

Very helpful. They allowed me to check in earlier than their regs allow and offered to look after luggage until I could access the room. I then steamed off to a prior engagement and lost my key!!! Luckily (and amazingly) it had been handed in at Reception before my return (it had been lost at a crematorium 15 miles away!!!!). The George didn't make a big deal of this, and wouldn't have, they assured me if it had remained lost..... Thanks, guys. Early checkout at 6am no problem, either.

In terms of the stay itself there was nothing to criticise. However, in common with most hotels they practise 'dynamic pricing' (!) so you have to pick your nights. Prices for the same room fluctuate wildly from night to night.

Everything !! In particular all of the staff were so very welcoming friendly and helpful. This has a huge impact upon the quality of any hotel stay. My room was exceptionally clean, as were the rest of the facilities. The location of the George is right in the centre of the town and close to the buses servicing routes to the surrounding areas of interest such as Bath. Thank you the George I would highly recommend it to anyone requiring a stay in Frome and I will definitely use it again !

Nothing !!!

We arrived early so had a couple of drinks in the bar which was really nice, a lot of people going to the same concert as us so good atmosphere Breakfast was really nice.

I had checked in online so just needed to collect key. A young lad served me and gave me the key, while he was checking my details the barmaid was shouting across asking him to do something else which wasn’t good as he was already dealing with me. He didn’t seem to know what he was doing and didn’t let us know where the rooms were so we were left to go in search of our room. Room was very dated and in need of decoration, cracked tiles in the bathroom and the walls had been touched up with paint which was a different colour to the original paint.

Lovely room in an historic building. We were at the back of the building and after the music ended (at a reasonable time for a pub! it was very quiet and comfortable. The bed was awesome! Breakfast was good the next day, although we couldn't see how we might get jam, etc for toast (it was assumed that you would eat the toast with the full English rather than separate). Great to be so central in this lovely market town - and it was market day on the Saturday as another bonus!

Car parking was interesting! Although it clearly states that car parking isn't always available we managed to find a space in the under cover car park. However - upon leaving less courteous guests had parked awkwardly across the ends of the parking bays - after a 30-point turn we managed to get out but would be difficult if you were travelling on your own. We would suggest white lines added to denote spaces and encourage sense!

Got an upgrade for less than a fiver to a double deluxe room with 4 poster bed and balcony view! Very friendly staff, accommodating, nice simple breakfast on help yourself as well as cooked provided. Nice old building as well and good pub grub

We stayed 2 nights which were 1 week apart. The first night was a smaller room and bathroom quite small, more windows and a little noisier being close to the street but appreciate this can't be helped with the layout of an old building. 2md night was the upgraded room which was well worth it!! Lovely stay lovely people and area

All the staff there were very friendly and welcoming and myself and my husband had a lovely evening meal in their bar area and nothing was too much trouble for them and our twin bed en-suite room no. 17 with very nicely decorated with lovely cosy beds and everything you could possibly require in your room with an electric kettle and a tray full of nice selection of various teas, coffees and even a hot chocolate sachet with plenty of little milk cartons & sugar sachets and two twin packets of biscuits as well and what more could you ask for and even the radiator had been turned on earlier in our room for our arrival and it so lovely and warm to come into that evening and we both had a very nice night's sleep and a lovely breakfast in the morning, just shame we had to leave so early to go on a trip that day, otherwise ourselves and our son would have definitely lingered over a breakfast even longer and I highly recommend this hotel to others as in a very good location and is very close to visit Longleat Safari Park as well and we thank all the staff for making our stay so comfortable there.

Unfortunately the upper and two side windows in our en-suite bathroom had been left open during the day to air this bathroom and so it was very cold when we entered this bathroom that evening when we arrived and I did attempt to close all these windows, but due to all the surrounding window frames and handles having been re-painted several times before that it wasn't possible for myself to close them completely and I was able to turn on the radiator in there to at least take the chill off inside and it was lovely and clean bathroom with plenty of soft towels provided for ourselves and and also a nice selection of complementary products for our use if required beside the basin as well.

Location is perfect in town centre. We stayed one night in room 9 which is very pretty with beams and skylight windows. The hotel is a real warren with lots of different landings and corridors but this adds to the character and we did finally find our way out! The room was very comfy. The breakfast is included and offers a very good variety and looked very tempting. We only had cereal and toast but that was very good. The service is friendly and unintrusive. There is a guest lounge which is quite nice if you want to avoid the public bar. The free car park was a great help.

The George is a busy high street pub with rooms. O/A on a Saturday it was busy and buzzing. Check in is at 4 pm. It's an old building, all rooms are different. Ours was larger then our friends. It was fairly basic but clean, a huge bed, good linen. Tea and coffee is supplied. Again the bathroom was not grand but perfectly OK. They offer, included in the price an excellent breakfast, you are offered cooked selection as well as croissants cerial fruit etc. It is in a great location. In the accomadation area it is a bit tired In places but it is a very old building. They offer a private residents lounge if the pub it too busy for you. Ask about parking, there are some private spaces available. There are a lot of stairs to some of the rooms so if you are not too mobile it would be good to check before booking.
