This is an exceptional place to stay. The room was large, lovely and warm and the bed was very comfortable. Within the room there was a variety of tea, coffee etc, fresh biscuits for both us and the dog, plus fresh milk was provided. The fridge in the room was really appreciated. Really nice toiletries in the bathroom with super soft towels. We arrived with a dog and he was made as welcome as we were and there was also a basket full of dog goodies in the room. We had snow while we were there, but had the weather been better there were beautiful walks around the property and also dog friendly pubs/restaurants close by. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts and the breakfast was amazing. My husband went into Shepton Mallett hospital for an operation and on the day he was allowed out they kindly let me stay longer in the room.

Nothing.

Loved every second staying here, from check in to check out. The room was great, clean and big! The hosts were kind, fun and easy to talk to and made amazing breakfasts! The location is perfect for venturing to Bath, Glastonbury and Cheddar which is what we did and it was quiet at night so the sleeping was amazing. The pub is a short 3 min walk from the BnB so it’s a nice place to unwind after a day of adventuring and the breakfasts are so so good. Big portion and delicious breakfast to keep you going throughout the day. Sophie and I will be staying here again if we are in the area for sure.

Couldn't get a better breakfast! The attention to detail was impeccable. Simon and Ali show how much they care with everything they do. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we wanted even gave me a tray to take to the room for my wife who was feeling a little poorly.

A night light would have been handy. And two chairs instead of just one with somewhere to put the iPad to do some work in the room. And the plumbing could be improved a little.

The location was excellent sited in a short lane in the village with a pub at the end.The accommodation is in a wonderful restored building with all the comforts you could want including a lounge you can sit in and relax, The level of service is very high with the choices for breakfast mind bogelling. The hosts themselves are the most friendly people you could hope to meet with nothing too much trouble. If you stay here you will not want to go home,

Nothing to not like

The owners were absolutely charming, very friendly & helpful, the room was lovely, it was well equipped with tea/coffee, home made shortbread (very tasty) with a small fridge & also dressing gowns were supplied, bed was very comfortable, shower room was a good size and also well appointed, towels soaps etc, there was also free Wi-Fi which was good enough to stream Netflix on. The breakfasts were excellent, but my wife is vegetarian & felt they could improve on that front. The location & views were lovely with a charming local pub which served lovely food a few minutes walk away. I would highly recommend this B&B.

Loved everything about this little gem. Simon and Alyson were such amazing hosts, treated us like visiting friends. The entire house was so clean, beautifully decorated and well equipped, you wanted for nothing. Bedroom was gorgeous, bed so comfortable, slept so well. Loved the delicious and huge variety of breakfast options. The homemade cookies in our room were to die for! Of course the welcome from Jasper (the family dog) was something we looked forward too every day.. Can't recommend the Old Stables enough.

Didn't like having to leave!

The location was quiet and reasonably secluded, but with a pub serving evening meals just down the road we had all that we needed. The room was spacious, with both bath and shower in the bathroom. The breakfasts were good and the owners were friendly and keen to please. Maps were available for us to plan walks in the attractive surrounding countryside.

It is hard to find fault with anything. If I say that I was mildly disappointed that poached eggs (my favourite) weren't on the breakfast menu that gives an inkling of the struggle that I had to find fault.

Everything. Was absolutely superb from start to finish. Very attentive in all areas and so so welcoming for our dog Bella too. With a Dog welcome pack, towels and a even a sausage for breakfast. We loved the amazing tasty breakfast with Simons sausages and cured bacon. Beautiful surroundings and attention to detail throughout the B&B. 10/10. Will definitely be going back. Amazing hosts

The location is in beautiful countryside, down a long drive from a small village. The hosts Simon and Alyson were charming and friendly people, with a lovely big dog. The stables themselves are beautifully restored, and the bedroom is very large and well-appointed. Despite the rural location, Wifi is reliable and very fast (about 80Mb). All possible breakfast choices are offered. We had the full English and it was delicious.

Nothing really. It is clear that the deal is bed & breakfast, not full board, so you would have to go out to eat. There is a pub called the Poachers Pocket at the end of the drive.
