Everything was exceptionally clean, the staff excellent, Phillipa (unsure of spelling) was fantastic. It is what you would expect but cleaner and fresher than most around the price point. Comfy bed and quiet. The bar downstairs is very reasonably priced. I can not comment on breakfast other than it looked good, we didn't use the included breakfast. The food in the bar/restaurant was to a good standard. All in all, it is very central, super clean, has friendly staff, and a very cheap price point. We booked another night.

The only slight issue was the heat in the room on the second night. We had the window wide open and still could not sleep. An option of a fan would be great.

The breakfast was superb! The usual waitress at breakfast was extremely helpful and top notch. The comfort of the room was great. I very much enjoyed relaxing there in the mornings and evenings. Always cleaned beautifully. The carpets felt lovely and luxurious too.

Unfortunately for two nights of my stay 2 people were snoring next door very loudly. Not the fault of the hotel. I brought ear defenders/ear plugs which solved it. When the usual breakfast waitress was off, my cooked breakfast was instantly in front of me. Amazing service! But took a while and a reminder to the waitress to get me a drink. Not a big problem but would be great to be offered a drink first. I was very thirsty. Just a good tip for future guests.

Location very good - in the middle of the town. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom modern and clean. Food at the Royal Oak is top quality. We did not have dinner at the hotel, but we have eaten there many times before. Breakfast was also very good. We ordered outside of the menu, ie Sausage Sandwich and they accommodated us without any issues. Great value for money.

We stayed in room 8. My husband is asthmatic so we always need the window to be open. Given how old the building is, the sash window was a little problematic in terms of noise - it rattled all night. We had to place some cardboard in the grooves to stop this from happening. I found the room to be quite depressing. Grey walls, grey carpet, grey bedding - everything basically grey, but I suppose this is personal choice. Of course with the hotel being central, and the window being open, the noise from party goers, and traffic was very loud. And not to mention the bell tower - jeez, that was not good first thing of a morning with a hangover.

Perfect location for a little explore of Garstang. Check in was easy, the staff are really friendly, pub is full of character and the rooms are spotless. Breakfast is fully customisable and cooked to order. Isnt anything exotic...but simple done well. 11am checkout for us was appreciated. Lunch menu is varied, reccomend the steak sandwich. Best butty I've had in a decade!

If we had to be picky, the shower wasn't great. Otherwise, highly recommended stay. Will definitely be back.

We loved everything about this lovely old English pub. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, beds comfy, the sheets soft, and the shower had good pressure. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful, the food in the pub was really tasty, and the location of the pub is great, right in the middle of Garstang. This is the best pub we stayed in during our trip to England. We would loved to have stayed longer

fantastic location, plenty of parking round the back, breakfast was good local produce, room nice, clean and comfy. slightly understaffed when I arrived so myself and people wishing to be served were standing there a good 5mins however the restaurant was busy, unfortunately I missed the chance to try the evening food as they stop serving at 8 but it looked good. Good takeaways a short walk away. Lovely village/town

The room was perfectly fine it was very clean and the bathroom was good, breakfast was delicious, a bit big for me but cooked fresh and plenty of tea, coffee and fruit juice

The bed was way too soft for me but that’s just personal preference, although it was easy enough to book in once we presented ourselves at the bar we didn’t really know where to go or who to speak to so maybe a sign on the wall to instruct where to check in?

Lovely pub very central to Garstang. Parking on site. Good food. Excellent quality breakfast.

Room a bit dated although very clean and functional. Market setting up at 7am Thursday disturbed our sleep. Not the fault of the accommodation I hasten to add but something to weigh up - central location vs peaceful location.
