Beautiful b&b in absolutely stunning location. View from bedroom breathtaking, with lovely walks straight from the property. Cleanliness of room immaculate - clearly great pride is taken by the owners. Bedroom small but bed very comfortable. Breakfast very good, with nice personal touches such as home baked bread and home made marmalade - lush. Lovely to see cute field voles and array of birds feeding outside breakfast conservatory, with food provided by the owners. Hosts very personable overall, and seemed to become more friendly during course of stay.

Immediate welcome a little lacking in b&b warmth, but - as stated in positive comments - couple became more chatty and friendly during stay. Bathroom shower was unfortunately not very convenient for anyone over about 5 foot 7 as ceiling lower than bedroom so shower riser lower too. Flow also quite erratic and switched from cool to very hot frequently. Bathroom window also not frosted so - unless you closed the curtains - neighbours might see more than they bargained for!

We stayed here for one night on our way home from being at the Big Church Festival in West Sussex. We were warmly welcomed by Sally and she showed us our ensuite room and a small fridge in the landing we could use. The view over the field of sheep from our room was memorable. We enjoyed breakfast with a grandstand view of various birds eating food Sally had placed on the garden wall. For breakfast there was a choice of cereals, fresh fruit, fruit juice, toast, homemade marmalade and jam, a delicious cooked full English breakfast and tea or coffee. We had a lovely stay and would thoroughly recommend the accommodation.

We were travelling from Cairnryan to Somerset after catching the ferry from Ireland and following delays at the ferry we did not arrive until late into the evening. A warm welcome awaited us. The room was comfy and well equipped with a jug of fresh milk available for teas and coffees. Breakfast was well cooked and served in the conservatory which had a fantastic view of the hills in the distance and seed was put out for the birds/wildlife which we could view as we were eating. We did not have enough time during this stay to view the area and would have liked longer there.

The location was very convenient to break our journey down from Scotland, although it looked like it would also have been an interesting area to explore, if we had had the time. The rooms were of an exceptionally high standard; they were spotlessly clean, spacious and very well equipped with superb views across the countryside. Breakfast was a very enjoyable meal, looking out across the fields and entertained by the variety of wild birds feeding on the low wall outside. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

I loved my stay here. The house is lovely, the room and bathroom were both clean and comfy, with a massive bath and everything that you could reasonably want available to hand. Shaver point, hairdryer, information about the local area, tea/coffee, biscuits, fresh milk kept in a fridge on the landing. The long range views from the room are beautiful and breakfast is served in the substantial conservatory with log burner, which is very much appreciated in January, the whole ambience is restful and welcoming. Sally and Simon are both lovely people and were very knowledgable about the local area. Sally will also keep an eye on the time for you if you need to leave early, as I did. The cooked breakfast was very tasty and there is also a choice of cereals, juices, teas and coffees and jams and marmalade, I could have lived quite happily in that beautiful conservatory. In my confirmation email Sally also recommended the Fleece Public House in dolphinholme for an evening meal and again I wasn’t disappointed. The pub is around a mile from the accommodation on country roads, without pavements for part of the way, so you would need transport to get there, but it’s so worth it. I noticed in the pub that they have taxi numbers so I assume if you wanted an alcoholic drink you don’t need to take your own car. The pub has friendly staff and very good food. As a single, female traveller I had no qualms about popping in to make a booking for my evening meal, there was a roaring fire and plenty of conversation going on around even though when I went in around 3.30am there were about 8 people but the atmosphere was so easy and there was no awkward silence like you can get in some pubs. I cannot recommend this B&B and enough and I hope to stay there again, for a bit longer I hope next time.

My husband had the cooked breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was cooked to perfection. There was plenty of choice if you didn't want the cooked breakfast. We were on the way to Scotland from the south coast and it made a nice break in a picturesque location

There was nothing they could have done better. The bedroom and bathroom we had was as good as many boutique hotels we have stayed in. We stayed in the room with 2 single beds and had a lovely view over the fells. The Hosts were very friendly

beautiful location with a great view. the field opposite provided a good opportunity for seeing a number of hares. the owners were helpful and provided a wonderful breakfast. It is a very peaceful place. Sally and Simon were perfect hosts. Seeing the birds on the wall eating their breakfast whilst I ate mine was a treat. The breakfast was copious and delicious and there were many options on the side before the cooked part of it arrived.

Small details made my stay a little more relaxing and enjoyable than other BnB's I've stayed at: I slept well in what felt like good quality bed linen; some small sun shades were hung up in the breakfast room in just the right place to prevent being dazzled by the morning sunshine; reading whilst sat in a wicker chair by the window with the sun setting made the Catshaw Greave room a great place for the evening. The breakfast was fantastic; my only disappointment was that my appetite was insufficient to sample Simon's home baked and marmalade - though there's always next time I stay. I will look to book again when I next visit the Forest of Bowland.
