Derby Arms

We just spent 2 nights at the Derby Arms while at a wedding nearby. It is in such a beautiful location, overlooking the fields and sunset in the evening when we arrived. We didn’t get a chance to find out the name of the guy who greeted us and looked after us for our stay, but he was so lovely, couldn’t do more for you! The room was spacious, the food was really really good and fresh, and there was a lovely farm shop across the road.

The room could do with a little refresh as it was very modern but some scuffs here and there, and what is and isn’t included in the room rate in terms of breakfast could be a little clearer.

Staff were friendly and attentive, nothing they wouldn't or couldnt do for us. The food was reasonably priced and excellent quality, the bar and restaurant decor was modern and stylish with a touch of the countryside element to accompany the location. Location was fantastic for us as it was a short ride from the wedding venue. I would without a shadow of doubt return to this amazing countryside pub and guest house. Amazing, thank-you to all the staff at the derby arms.

No dislikes at all, faultless.

First time in this area loved everything about it! Lovely views outstanding countryside plenty of walks nearby not far from Beacon Fell Country Park and near to Clitheroe which is a lovely market town.

Nothing really enjoyed my stay at The Derby Arms and will be booking again soon! I think breakfast should of been included with the price of the room.

The staff were exceedingly helpful and professional .The choice and quality of breakfast was excellent. The hotel was characterful but also with all modern facilities.

Our room (room 3) was above the bar and the music from downstairs was very annoying while trying to read. When we went down to dinner the manager said that previous visitors had commented on this and if we told her when we went back up to the room, she would turn it off. This she did. The hotel has to be single glazed to maintain it's character, but one pane in our room was cracked. The nearby dairy began receiving traffic early in the morning.

Staff were friendly and welcoming, room was comfortable and reasonabley priced. Evening meal was good and the waitresses did an excellent job for how busy the Pub/restaruant was for a Tuesday evening. Breakfast selection was good and priced well. Views from the Pub garden were beautiful especially when the sun was setting!

Located on the edge of the beautiful Forest of Bowland AONB this is in a lovely setting. The breakfasts are generous and well-cooked. Food at the Derby Arms is excellent and way better than the usual pub grub. We found the staff to be efficient, very friendly and welcoming. Our dog was happy staying there for three nights and was welcome in the bar restaurant. Check with the Derby Arms that you are booking into a dog-friendly room. Also, we were allowed to store her food in their fridge. I love this place, the area and the friendliness of the Lancashire people.

I thought the road which passes close by would be a problem but it quiet at night.

As soon as we arrived and checked in we were greeted by the fantastic staff who offered us a drink and carried our luggage up to the room. The view from the outdoor beer garden was stunning. 10/10 location.

Me being picky I wish the room had air con as it was so hot but other than that it was perfect!

The Derby Arms was a great place to stay while visiting family for a few days before Christmas. Big comfortable room, good shower, lovely location and excellent restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Really reasonable for the size of room and time of year - we'd definitely stay again.

The room and bathroom needed a good dust/deep clean.

Breakfast was lovely, kept us going all day until dinner. Location is charming, very rural whilst only a short drive from the M6 motorway

The only disappointing aspect was the dust in our room, number 5, on a few of the items such as the picture frames, windowsill plant and a dish in the bathroom. The shower itself was excellent however getting in and out of the bath was awkward, with nothing to hold onto and a but slippy.

Well presented country pub just outside Longridge. We had the family room 1 with 3 beds but were just a couple. Would still be a great sized room to accommodate 3 guests, with 3 easy chairs. Only stayed 1 night, but was very enjoyable. Breakfast choices great. Restaurant meals looked good but we had a dinner date elsewhere.

The pub and rooms are well maintained and clean but perhaps a bit more care needed in room corners. This is only a minor point and did not detract from our experience, neither would it prevent us from booking again.
