I don't usually stay at places like this... and it's changed my mind. Very odd looking building but quirky and found it a great place to stay! Room had enough for me and my wife, plus a travel cot and we took our dog also as its dog friendly! Bathroom was fine, shower was powerful. It was clean and tidy. Little TV in the room, tea and coffee provided with a biscuit too! Had no issues with the room. Only thing I would comment on, the bed is comfortable but the frame is metal, which was rather squeaky! Otherwise no issues.

The bed frame was metal so it was a bit on the squeaky side. Also, I'm not sure if they were a member of staff down or something but the breakfast was lovely but a bit on the slow side. Didn't bother us as we were in no rush.

Quirky older property in good location in the High Street. Key left for collection with access

Entrance to car park is not from front and would be useful to have signage if possible in the village as not straight forward access. No information booklet in the room for breakfast times/ wifi etc Breakfast a bit chaotic, not clear what was available and where. No menu however once aware, choice of cereals but no yogurt or fruit. Would have liked sauces for cooked breakfast, couldn’t see and they were busy serving to ask although know they would have been provided and owners helpful, just a lot of people to serve at once so they just need to put them out beforehand or check when they deliver freshly cooked breakfast to table if anything else required.

For years I used to go hiking and would often be delighted to come across lovely old inns such as the Swan. So discovering this one at a location, Harleston, which I know quite well was a real treat. It has been well looked after, its original features still very evident. Robin and Kitty make fine hosts, and looked after me very well for my short stay. I had a spacious room, with an excellent bed and decent facilities, and breakfast too was very decent for a small family-run enterprise.

The only disappointment was that I was not able to enjoy a quiet pint downstairs in the evening - Kitty told me the bar shuts at 6.00. It was a Sunday.

Friendly welcome, clear information regarding hotel stay, facilities, room, when breakfast served. High standards of cleanliness, bed large and very comfortable. Generous refreshments in the room and toiletries supplied. Historic, quirky hotel with large old fireplace in the bar. Free large car park. On Saturday the town centre was alive with music and various stalls celebrating past, present and future of Harleston. Many shops have fascinating photographs displayed on windows of what it looked like in the 1800/1900's. Much to do in the town, near and far. Highly recommend this lovely hotel.

The room was the right size and very comfortable, with all the facilities one would expect. There are plenty of plug points. The hotel is in a nice village location and has excellant parking. The hotel building itself has character. The staff are friendly and breakfast is a good value for money. Check-in was really easy - our room key was already waiting for us on the desk, so there wasn't a big process to go through.

It would have been nice if there's been a lift, but as we were on first floor this wasn't a big issue during our stay, only after checking in. The main problem was the wifi - it was ok, but not always accessible from every device.

Our room was of a very generous size with comfortable beds. Breakfast was good, especially for our son (the sausages and beans going down a treat). The hotel itself was delightfully full of character reflecting its 16th century origin (we loved the quirkiness of the main staircase). We found the staff to be helpful and polite. My bed was very comfortable and gave no problems (backache often being an issue when sleeping in hotel beds)

Since Harleston has a one-way system, finding the car park took several attempts. Other than that, there was nothing that fell below expectation. We knew that there would be some restrictions still in place due to Covid.

Location was nice, village was relatively quiet with some nice pubs. Owners were very nice, amazing personalities very friendly and welcoming. Large parking at the back of the property, excellent breakfast and very comfortable beds. The hotel has a lot of character lovely old hotel building.

The rooms and corridors are very very dated and could do with modernizing and updating obviously you don't want to take away the charm of an old building but it does need a refurb. The shower wasn't great and the water did trickle out and the TV remote didn't work but as i want to be as honest as possible these to me are not issues that would make you not come here.

Little touches like bottled water, biscuits/ tea & coffee. Smart TV so able to watch Netflix. Spacious room. Breakfast was amazing and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Free parking around the back of the hotel. Harleston is a lovely place to stay especially if you are exploring locally.

Needed a plug socket near the bed but that was the only negative

Definitely full of character and for what we we’re there for it was centrally located. Old higgledy buildings are not for some but we love the character, the breakfast was lovely. Very decent bathroom All staff are lovely and very helpful

Now unfortunately with old buildings you will get certain problems that need to be kept in check and our windows were fixed open which wouldn’t of been a problem if there was not a pub next door and people in this town like to shout to each other right below our windows till the early hours. Rooms 7 - 11 are above the main street which didn’t bother us but some might not like
