The breakfast served was very good and the coffee was amazing. The manager and chef was really amazing. Gave us personal attention especially for the allergy conditions we had. He and his staff made us feel very welcome all the time we were in the inn and the restaurant.

One thing which would have really helped us additionally was if we had acces to a charging point for our EV. EVs are becoming more and more popular and finding a charging point was quite stressful in the whole area around. I spent a few late nights just to have enough charge for my trip back home. There was a Wifi issue in the inn too. We managed to rely on our mobile phone data packages but for international travellers that might be an issue. Will be great to get that fixed too.

The breakfast was beautifully cooked however, I think that you should never ever serve half a slice (round) of black pudding. That is like serving half an egg. For the price of room including breakfast I think there should have been a little bit more, but it was delicious and well cooked and the staff couldn't be more lovely. Lovely atmosphere.

The bedding had a couple of stains on it and there were a lot of unfinished holes in the room. Lots of sockets only they do not work so had to charge my phone across the other side of the room which is not good when you set an alarm. The TV remote battery back was missing and there was only one toilet roll provided in the room.

Right from the start when we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and given our key and invited to have dinner at the Inn. The room was clean and functional without being too fussy. The new shower cubicle worked well with plenty of hot water available. The extra large bed was comfortable and the secondary double glazing did a good job of keeping the room warm and the road traffic from the busy main road outside the Inn. The food at the Inn was lovely with a wonderful cooked breakfast and a selection of evening meals of good traditional English fayre. The hosts were always keen to help in any way and they have two lovely retriever dogs who are also very friendly and happy. The atmosphere is welcoming and although we stayed in January, I should imagine the location and views are spectacular in the warm summer months.

My partner commented that she would have liked to see more foreign dishes on the main dinner menu, but I like a pie and their pies are really good!

The staff were extremely helpful throughout our stay for the two of us and our dog. We chose it particularly because it was advertised as ‘pet friendly’ and it completely lived up to this. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the food we had at dinner and then at breakfast was excellent. We particularly enjoyed a locally made saag aloo pie. There are several good dog walks that can be done from the pub, including to Grindleford and up onto Stanage Edge.

Nothing I can think of.

The location of this hotel is superb, giving easy access to anywhere you would want to visit in the Peak District. Situated just a nice walking distance from the pretty town of Hathersage. Wonderful views from the bedroom. Loads of free parking space. The staff, especially Maria and Jason, were exceptional; warm and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was plentiful, a great variety and well cooked, presented in a huge dining room. Also, the option to eat at tables outside in fine weather. The hotel is very dog friendly and people who love dogs are always friendly too. Had a most enjoyable stay, would definitely recommend.

Any criticism would be petty.

Great service; we hadn't booked a table for evening meal but the manager was still able to fit us in at short notice despite the pub being very busy. The food was beautiful (we ate breakfast and evening meal here). Spacious bathroom, great shower and a very comfortable bed.

The hotel is in a small village, perfect if you just want some nice walks and a good pub meal. Others may want to be closer to areas of the Peak District with more to do.

The breakfast was very tasty, it included a rasher of bacon, sausage, black pudding, grilled tomato, mushrooms, fried egg, beans, hash brown and fried bread. There was also cereal, toast, croissants, jam, fruit & yogurt included, which was excellent.

It's down to personal choice, but we're used to a kingsize bed, but we had a double and as we were in a family room, the room size would of been compromised.

The location was ideal for my needs. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was a good size and well appointed, including comfy chairs. Plenty of plugs - very handy for my various essential electrical items. The pub-style food menu was a bit limited for me, but the service in the restaurant was friendly and efficient and the fish and chips were good.

The hotel is on a main road. Fortunately there was not much traffic and, with the help of my noise reducing headphones, I had a good night's sleep. The kitchen closed at 19.30. But that was OK because it encouraged me to eat earlier.

It was warm, cosy and welcoming. All, of the staff were super lovely and could not have been more accommodating. I stayed for 5 nights and I would 100% come back and stay for another 5. Also, the food was super yummy. Annoyingly for others I am a vegan! However, the menu had some lovely vegan options and the staff were very helpful in accommodating any little alterations I might need for a dish. In addition, the Millstone was easy to get to via public transport. There are 2 buses that stop right outside of it and the Hathersage train station in just a 20 minute walk away. The villiage centre is also just a 15 minute walk down the road and has a some nice shops and restaurants. I do not drive so was a bit worried but after an hour or so of exploring, I quickly realised how well connected everything is.

I honestly can't think of anything I did not like about my stay.

Dinner was absolutely delicious. I believe I had a sweet potato chickpea curry that was to die for along with a local beer and the lovely food presentation was unexpected. The room was perfect. Nice new shower in the bathroom (I just don't understand why this and almost every place I stayed in the UK have no shelves in the shower stalls to put your shampoo etc on). I loved the proximity of this place to several great hikes and I enjoyed the atmosphere and friendliness of the pub in the evening. Breakfast the next morning was everything you expect for breakfast in the UK.
