The village and atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good. Room was large and clean.

The dining room was also used as a place for locals to sit and drink on the night we were there, they were loud and we had to move tables. We asked for an 8.00 breakfast instead of 8.30 and were told this was not possible but that if we left what we wanted the night before it would be ready for us at 8.30 prompt. We arrived about 7 mins before but the door was locked to the breakfast room and we had to sit on the dark and dingy stairs to wait for the door to be opened, our breakfast was ready for us but it would have been easy to open the door and just let us sit at the table.

Staff were extremely friendly. No fault with the room abd breakfast excellent. Loved the attention to detail with flowers on table too.

Too remote for me. Need a little more in the village for me and even though I read about Church, had 3 hrs sleep only from the bells. Lovely for anyone who likes remote places, and I do, but this was too remote for me. But I cannot fault the actual inn. Decor lovely, staff too and didn't feel uneasy at all. Shower is brilliant, beds too. Defgo would be a place I'd return too if for overnight stop in area again, and if mire to do in village would be a regular.

The room was large, with an extra bed and a large bedroom, with a view to the cathedral. Everything was very well and comfortable. The George Inn breakfast was enough for the rest of the day. The pub is nice, with a long history and located next to the cathedral in the centre of the village.

We arrived on Friday afternoon and didn't know that the church bell ringing practice took place between 7.30 an 9 pm. We thought there was either a mistake in the technical equipment or the person ringing the bells was drunk. Fortunately, no bell ringing in the night.

We spent 2 nights here as a base to explore Chatsworth, Bakewell and the surrounding area. Our room was spacious, clean, with a comfortable bed The food ( especially breakfast ) was delicious with good-sized portions. Every member of staff that we encountered was courteous, friendly & attentive. We'll hopefully come back in summer and visit the grounds of Chatsworth. You'd better reserve for an evening meal as it does get busy. Value for money, for 2 nights B&B , was brilliant. Thank you to Rory and all the team.

No complaints whatsoever !

Very nice breakfast with good choice - traditional though, nothing fancy, but good vegetarian options available. Extremely comfortable super-king bed and very quiet in Room 4 which is on the side away from the main road. Mattress was firm which I loved, but some may prefer softer.

The basin needed a plug and there was a shelf with a sharp corner protruding too near to the toilet, meaning care was needed not to bash your face. The radiator cover in the room meant inefficient heating, but there was a useful and effective fan heater provided.

Great location, friendly personnel. Clean and welcoming. Big rooms. Comfy beds. Great shower. Netflix on the televisions! Breakfast was freshly made and everything was good quality, local produce... was excellent! Best coffee we had drunk in days!!!

Light in room 1 could be a little more appropriate for a hotel room. Was really bright with a light shade that didn't really shade the bulb. We just turned it off and used the bedside lamps. Room 4 was much better with spots!

The breakfast was very generous with good quality ingredients. I loved the fact the beans were in a separate pot for fussy eaters like me! We also had an evening meal which was superb with very reasonable priced wine. The staff are so lovely and attentive. The location was fab in the cutest village. The pub is next door to the most beautiful church which is open for you to pop in and have a look around. We were lucky enough to enjoy a live band that was playing at the pub but they were very respectful for the residents and stopped playing at 11pm.

The pillows could do with replacing but apart from that nothing to complain about.

Food was great and a lovely place. We noticed a function room just opposite our room - it wasn't being used that night but next time I would check it is not booked, as I think it would impact on the bedrooms. As it was someone came up to the landing and tried our bedroom door, which was locked luckily.

Room was a little cool but it was a cold and snowy night. Hot water in sink stopped running in the morning, presume as others were using a lot of water and pressure dropped to our room, but not sure. Shower was electric and worked fine, so not sure what the issue was.

The room was very clean, had beautiful window boxes and a nice welcome tray with drinks and biscuits. The restaurant was inviting as was the sunny courtyard to the rear of the property. We enjoyed the food too. The staff were extremely pleasant.

It is out of the control of the pub, but the clock on the church next door chimes every 15 minutes from 6am to midnight. Also, the room is very light until the lights on the front of the pub are turned out around 11 pm.

Beautiful, spacious family room overlooking the main street into Tideswell. Our bed was a large double with a single bed for our daughter. Comfy bed with 2 pillows each. A great array of refreshment options - coffee bags, Yorkshire tea, water and biscuits. Breakfast was really tasty - traditional breakfast cooked to order with cereals and yoghurt. My husband missed breakfast as he had to leave for work before 9am at the weekend but they made up a bacon roll at breakfast time (9am - 10am) to take to him later which was appreciated. There is a small car park which we didn't manage to park in as we arrived quite late to check in however it is possible to park in the road opposite with no charge. Tideswell is a great place to explore the Peaks from and very close to Chatsworth. We enjoyed having a well used local pub to return to for a couple of drinks before bedtime. From a disability point of view there are is a short flight of steps to the first floor rooms but they are quite steep/deep. Occasionally the function room might be used and this may result in a bit of noise underneath the bedrooms as people leave after midnight. It didnt bother us but if you like an early night you might want to check before booking. We definitely recommend this as a comfortable place to stay and will happily return.

Nothing, we had a lovely relaxing stay.
