The Staff and locals are very friendly and made us feel more than welcome. It's in a perfect location for access to all areas for walking etc. Good, home cooked food is also a bonus!

There wasn't anything that I disliked, the accommodation is what you'd expect in a public house and has all the basic needs.

The best aspect of our experience at the inn was the interaction with the owner and the staff members, most of it was hilarious. We started each morning with a good laugh. Another factor was the really nice food. We polished our Full English meal at very breakfast and the Ale & Steak Pie we ordered in the evening was super delicious. The location is rather good as well in terms of its proximity to tourist attractions and other towns and hamlets in the Peak District. We also had a lovely view of the sheep grazing on the hill from our room.

The room we stayed in was okay, but one could see that most of the furniture and bath facilities are a bit old, but in a way that also added charm to the accommodation. Perhaps the one thing we didn’t like was the tiny bed. Both my husband and I are over 5’9 and it was definitely a struggle for us to sleep because we had to squeeze in on such a tiny bed during rather overwhelmingly warm nights (we caught the heat wave in Peak District).

Its a lovely, quirky old style pub run by a very friendly, welcoming team. We really enjoyed our stay, the location was excellent for exploring the peaks and the food was great.

General cleanliness in some areas (dust and cobwebs) could do with improving but this would by no means stop us returning. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless.

The Lantern Pike was in a lovely location, and close to Hayfield where we needed to be. The room was a bit small, but adequate. The breakfast and evening meal were lovely with a good choice of home made food, and a packed lunch was made up for us for the following day. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The room was small and the shower needed a bit of attention.

The breakfast was very good and value for money. Also we were offered times for when we required to have breakfast and all was neatly ready and hot.

If we had to mention anything we didn't like about our stay then we can only mention that some of the furnishings needed to be updated but then the Covid situation would not of helped this as they must of been closed for months with nothing coming into the Inn as they would of been closed down as it is only small.

Superb and gorgeous location perfect for a walking trip. We did the Rosie Lee Tea Rooms Kinder Reservoir walk and adapted it to leave from the The Lantern Pike. A few head scratchy moments but made it back in time to enjoy a hot sunny afternoon in the beer garden. We also drove the short distance to do Mam Tor. The hosts and bar staff were lovely the food delicious. We stayed in the 4 poster Kinder Scout room which was lovely. A true traditional pub. Recommended for a stay in the high peaks.

Chris was welcoming and looked after us well. Good sized bathroom. Fab view and food good at reasonable price

Seemed dingy on first impression but once in the room was fine. Good atmosphere in the bar later on

the rooms need a bit of TLC , the pub is on a very busy main road and if the owner hadnt changed the room to one at the back we would have left, had no sleep the first night, but she helped us out
