Stayed with John & Nicole for one night during my motorcycle tour of the area. My twin bed room was exceptionally clean and well presented and even had patio doors onto a deck area with a fabulous view. Steak & Ale pie for dinner along with a nice pint and that delightful view. Nicole suggested a walk that I followed to watch the sunset which completed my evening perfectly. A generous full English breakfast set me up for the next day. By the way, the roads around here are amazing!

The room was a very comfortable apartment on the ground floor. It had its own entry and was near to Allendale, whereI wanted to go. Breakfast was included and was all I needed. The meals at night were good and convenient and were an extra expense.. The room had its own outside decking and the views were beautiful. All amenities were available: TV,Wi-Fi, etc.The beds were very comfortable. It was very quiet.

There were twin beds rather than a double. This inn is not in Hexham and if you definitely want to stay in Hexham, it may not be what you want. Allendale and Allenheads are the nearest villages.

Absolutely the best place I have ever stayed. The welcome, food, accommodation, hosts and the area were all exceptional. Plenty of beautiful walks local to the Inn with coffee shops along the way. I love the fact that you have your own private entrance, ideal if you have a dog, and the french doors leading on to your own deck overlooked the valley. Leading down from there, there is a little trail down to a seating area beside a stream that Nicole has cleared and created. If you don't book a stay, you're missing out on a wonderful experience!

There was nothing to dislike.

Lovely, comfortable accommodation that was all on one level. Has own private entrance from the car park that made loading and unloading bags and my dog very easy. Though I visited in December it's obvious that in better weather the view from the room's private decking and from the pub itself across the valley would be fabulous. Loved the huge walk in shower! Friendly owners who were down to earth and helpful. Food was great too. Will definitely be visiting again.

Very minor point, bathroom door doesn't close well.

fabulous location, the room wasn’t large but big enough, the beds were very comfortable and the shower superb. Wi-Fi is available but who really needs it in such a location. the landlord and landlady (John and Nicole) were lovely and most accommodating, providing a small but adequate and very well priced bar and restaurant menu, I was only there 2 days and was made most welcome by all including the inns local clientele, I should have no hesitation in rebooking the Crown Inn if ever in the area.

Everything about my stay was excellent. The room very comfortable with a lovely modern bathroom and very private. The views and area were amazing, I felt a new unexplored part of the world for me. Nichole cooked a wonderful tasty breakfast with little extras, both she and John were always on hand to help or give information on the surrounding area. Just a brilliant stay

It’s great as it is, so there was nothing not to like

Breakfast from bar dining area looking up the valley....gorgeous view over a first class breakfast, especially the fresh fruit, yoghurt and home made rolls. Great evening walk from the Crown up the hill on quiet road with stunning views west across the valley to the Pennines and up to Allendale......plenty of birds and wildlife....Hares,.Curlew and Lapwing amongst others.

Quite quiet, but we stayed Sunday and Monday which are quiet days.

We stayed here as a stop off between trips to the Lakes and Berwick, as the accommodation in Berwick wasn't available until the following day. The room was just what we needed for a single night and the beds were unbelievably comfortable. The owner was very friendly and accommodating, as were all the locals in the pub.

Nothing.
