Lois's welcome was lovely and she explained everything we needed to know. The breakfasts we excellent (the bacon particularly) and more than enough to keep us going all day, so full marks too for David's cooking. The room was very confortable and well equipped as was the bathroom.

I would be wrong to say "we didn't like" but "less than perfect" for us was the bed which was a bit hard for our taste. Eating out in Haydon Bridge is a bit of a lottery; there are only two options and food is not necessarily available in the evening. A bit of forward planning is necessary!

Happy from the moment we parked in front of Shaftoe's Bridge, went inside and were immediately offered tea, coffee and biscuits. Incredible welcome and friendly, attentive service. Haydon Bridge village is so beautiful - this B&B sits next to the river with easy access to several pubs/eating places within walking distance. Very comfortable bedrooms with thoughtful amenities (only equalled in our London accommodation), sparkling clean, great showers, personal touches abound throughout the property. We loved it and hope to return.

Lois was very friendly and welcoming on our arrival and cooked up a fabulous, tasty full English breakfast for my husband and I. The accommodation is warm, spotlessly clean, peaceful and quiet with lovely bedding and a very comfortable bed. Room size is very good with powerful water pressure, guaranteeing an excellent shower. All in all everything was perfect and we would not hesitate to use Shaftoe's bed and breakfast again on our next stay. Finally, thank you Lois for your excellent advice on the alternative route to the A1. We got there in record time and thoroughly enjoyed the journey.

Everything. Our hosts greeted us with tea and biscuits whilst we settled into our room. This was followed by recommending a pub for dinner and then booking a reservation for us. The room was spotless, comfy bed, great shower and breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. Fresh milk was available for the room and a guest fridge was provided should you wish to keep your own food chilled. Lois and David have thought of everything. They even provided hair conditioner with the shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom.

Lois and David were incredibly hospitable, greeting us at the door and offering a cup of tea. Our room was a very generous size and lovely and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the room had lots of tea/coffee facilities. Breakfast was delicious - there was a full selection to choose from and cooked fresh at the time of your choice during breakfast hours. The hosts were also very knowledgeable about the area and gave great advice about visiting Hadrian's wall. Highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful spacious room and bathroom. Exceptionally clean and lots of attention to detail. Really friendly and helpful host. Good location to explore the main attractions around the Hadrian's Wall. Nice breakfast with plenty of choice.

Having to pre-order breakfast the night before as I don't really know what I'll fancy eating the following day.

The room was beautifully presented with lots of little extras - toiletries, teas, bottled water and a desk space for office / make up. The welcome was so lovely with a tray of tea and chocolate biscuits - first time we have ever been offered that at B&B. Breakfast was freshly cooked and nothing was too much trouble - even fresh fruit to take away for lunch!

Street light outside was bright - but what can you do about that? It was too warm to shut the curtains completely .

Nice quiet, riverside location, with car parking directly outside of the house. Very friendly hosts who couldn't do enough to make our short stay enjoyable. Immaculately clean bedroom with very large shower/bathrom. Breakfast cooked to perfection or choice of cereal or fresh fruit salad if you'd prefer. Very conveniently located for exploring Hadrian's Wall and museums. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

The rooms were really big, spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The shower was powerful. The cutest complimentary items. Vanity box, shampoo & conditioner and loads of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The breakfast was amazing. You chose what you'd like the day before and request a time. You're food items are cooked fresh and it's one of the nicest breakfasts I've ever had! The hosts are brilliant! We met the lady - I think her name is Jo. She couldn't do enough for us, lovely lady. We struggled to get back in on the evening and they got out of bed to help us get in and explained how to use the door property.

There was nothing I didn't like, it was a beautiful stay!

The warm friendly welcome from Lois. Parking is right outside the property and there's an electric charging port available. Everything we needed was available. The rooms are comfortable, clean, well-appointed and spacious. We had the two ground floor rooms which were wonderful. The twin has a lovely stained glass window effect and a seat in the shower if needed. The showers are powerful and well equipped (hate it when there's nowhere to put your toiletries) and the beds are really comfy. Nice touch was the 'make-up remover' flannel. Breakfast was pre-booked the night before but was amazing. I had a full English which was very tasty with a perfect poached egg and my sister had the pancakes with fruit which was great. We were well-looked after but not too intrusive. I would highly recommend this place. Great location near Hadrian's wall too.
