Very comfy bed! A fan was provided in the room which we did use. Very impressed with breakfast - good choice and lovely produce. Centeral location was fab! Would stay again but would request a room at the front next time

We were given a room at the back which was overlooked by the building opposite, meaning it was difficult to get ready without somebody possibly been able to see. The room was warm and having the windows open was drfinitely needed which was fine until the recycling truck came down the back street at 7am Sat morning! Not the hotels fault but just be wary.

Location, centre of town, very noisy outside on Friday night until 2 am (due to adjacent night clubbers) otherwise excellent. Quiet at other times. Nothing too much trouble for the staff, although a shortage of bar and restaurant staff led to long bar queues at times, and tables not being cleared in the restaurant. Very clean, comfortable, welcoming. Lively. Food excellent, with a wide choice for breakfast and dinner. Worth noting there isn't a lift, and the top floor rooms are three flights of stairs up, so may not suit everyone.

Friday night noise and crowds of youngsters outside until 2am from night club next door. Other nights very quiet. Clear the tables in the restaurant faster, and don't leave the tables full of dirty dishes after people have left! At busy times a second bar person would help considerably to shorten the queues. Otherwise no complaints!!

Location, onsite parking, food nice staff lovely through out the place. We felt that the dining room and and other areas plus bedroom could do with some TLC, bar area was very nice also outside seating area, had pretty hanging baskets. We do think that waiting on staff need to check outside tables where they bring food to but seem to forget to go back and clean the tables and remove dirty plates etc, we mentioned this to the bar manager even though 3 staff members were standing around chatting this poor man instead of asking them to tidy everywhere he done it plus serving at the bar etc, imo i do believe a good manager needs to deligate or things start to decline.

Dirty tables with food etc left on them causing wasps to come around outside area.

The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional. I had braised brisket of beef, which was amazing and my husband had lamb tagine, also excellent. The chocolate dessert was so light it just melted in your mouth. I drink decaf coffee which is often just a sachet but here, they served delicious fresh Lincoln and York coffee. It was worth the stay for the food alone.

It was exceptionally hot and we were in an attic room but the hotel provided a fan in the room, which certainly made a difference. Not really the hotel’s fault just British balmy weather!!!

Friendliness of staff and the good rapport they appeared to have together which creates a good atmosphere. Our room was very clean and had all we needed in it. Staff as I mentioned were very friendly & helpful in all areas from receptionist on our arrival, the waitressing staff for our evening meal and the staff who attended to breakfast in the morning. The Old Bridge is situated very centrally in Holmfirth so very handy for the shops, cafes and bars nearby. It is also situated close to Huddersfield and other major towns as well as the beautiful Yorkshire and Derbyshire countryside.

We felt that there could have been a bit more choice for the buffet items for breakfast although there was plenty of choice on the hot/cooked menu.

Beds were extremely comfortable and staff were exceptional, specifically Ryan and Bes. They made the stay and we're so friendly and helpful. The location is brilliant and the fact there is a car park to use is even better. Food was great, would highly recommend eating in the pub in the evening and having a few drinks. The inside of the pub is beautiful, they have really captured the mixture of modern with classic country touches. Loved it!! Would only stay here if I was visiting Holmfirth again.

There was very little, the only thing I would say could improve the stay would be AC units in the room or to allow for further opening of the windows but I know this is a safety requirement. The room was quite hot (in July) but the Inn did provide a fan which was really useful and did help.

Can’t say enough good things about this property. Charming heritage place, centrally located in beautiful Holmfirth and with the sound of the river at the front. Our room was huge with a sofa, kind sized bed, a fantastic view and contemporary luxurious finishes and fabrics. An excellent breakfast was provided the next morning. We’ve been travelling for six weeks and this was the best room and best value of anywhere we stayed. My only regret was that due to visiting family nearby we arrived late and had to leave the next day. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Nothing 10/10 from us.

Lovely location with the sound of the river giving a calming vibe. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was kitted out with all we needed hot drinks, hand soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Towels were fresh and clean and the bed comfy. The curtains and blind were blackout which made the room easy to sleep in. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of choice and certainly filled you up. We ate in the restaurant at night and again lots of choice and bid portions at a decent price.

The property is old so you do hear a lot of creaking floorboards as people walk above you, normally this wouldn’t bother me but I slept lightly so heard every creak.

Excellent location in the heart of Holmfirth. All staff I encountered were lovely and carried out their roles impeccably. Breakfast was included in my rate, and it was pretty perfect with decent cold options and the full breakfast cooked to order without delay. Room was very clean and well maintained, window had both a blackout blind and curtains. The room was quite warm as it was facing the afternoon sun, but a combination of open window, blind half-down and the electric fan (found in the wardrobe) helped keep the temperature down. The bed was very comfortable, I booked a single room but the bed in the room I was given was a double. Parking Info. There is a small car park at the front and side of hotel but I couldn't find any way of accessing it. The entrance is actually to the far left of the hotel at the bottom of Victoria Street immediately after the Zebra Cossing, then past the doors of the Picturedrome. The provided postcode took me to the front of the hotel where there is only a footbridge to the car park/outside seating. After driving round in a circle twice, and as I didn't want to be feeding a meter at 8am on the Co-Op Car Park (the small pay & display across from the hotel was already full) I drove back out of the town centre, parked on the road and walked back, which was fine as the weather was beautiful and my bag was light. Just something to bear in mind.

The hot water was volcanically scorching. There were signs to warn of this, and they weren't lying! I found it impossible to shower due to the very real threat of first degree burns. I had to run a bath instead, which took ages as I didn't get the mix right, so that was boiling too. Then I attempted to wash my har in the sink using one of the mugs to rinse as best I could and ended up hurting my neck. What a palaver! If your room is on the part of the first floor which has a floor above, you can hear everybody moving around upstairs as the floors creak terribly (but it's a lovely old building, so it's to be expected). Luckily, the other guests had all settled down by around midnight, I guess Inspiral Carpet's fans need their sleep these days... 😉

Location was great, food was very good, friendly helpful staff & a good breakfast. We had a standard room which was small but fine for a few days, shower was good & stocked with plenty of shower gel etc. Will return but ask for a room on the back of the hotel.

Being an old building the floorboards creaked a bit & you could here people moving about in the rooms above. Only real downside was we had a room on the front with the open eating area/terrace below which was fairly noisy at night & may have been a problem if your the type who go to bed early.
