The room was clean and comfortable with excellent range of provisions (eg drinks/toiletries/towels). Excellent mattress! The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. The breakfast was good and a good range of drinks available. Friendly, comfortable atmosphere in the public area.

Unfortunately, I am sorry to have to report that I wasn't impressed with the meal I had late afternoon in the restaurant. It wasn't awful, just not very good. It actually seemed to have been warmed up - roast potatoes not crispy, vegetables a bit rubbery and the pastry on the Vegetable Wellington was thick and hard. However, the accompanying tomato sauce was lovely and tasty. I didn't complain at the time, because it was edible - but you have now asked me to say what I didn't like and this was the only thing!!

It was a convenient place to stay for my goddaughter’s wedding, and the staff were all friendly.

On arrival, myself and other guests discovered that there was no hot water at all in our rooms, and reported it to the manageress, who went into overdrive to get it repaired the same day. clearly, the need for hot water before her wedding was desperately important to the bride, particularly. they eventually found a plumber, but he was out on another call and did not arrive until 10 pm that evening, but by midnight it was repaired, which was obviously good news, especially on the bank holiday weekend! This was an awkward situation for the manageress, but she dealt with it as quickly as possible and my goddaughter was able to have a shower early the following morning.

Previously when we have travelled to Huddersfield to visit family we have stayed in the usual budget hotels. However, as I am from the area and know The Foxglove from the days when it used to be The Three Owls, I decided to give it a try as it was a comparable price and breakfast was included. It was perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. Clean and comfortable and just what we wanted plus it has an excellent restaurant for an evening meal. Breakfast was also great and set us up for a long and busy day ahead. We will definitely stay regularly from now on.

There was nothing to dislike. If I had to be really picky, I would say that it looks a little tired in places but a lick of paint would tidy it in no time at all. Please note, this is me being REALLY picky!

Great location, rooms just the right size and nicely laid out. plugs, USB points and all room facilities conveniently set out. Slept very well. Food was great, we all had an evening meal when we arrived and full English breakfast the following morning, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Friendly and accommodating staff, made sure we had all we needed. Perfect service despite the fact that we were a large party of 12. Will definitely stay here again!

there wasn’t anything I didn’t enjoy. Rooms could have slightly better lighting and probably do with a bit of a spruce up (spills and marks on walls) but that’s being very pedantic and didn’t take away from what was a lovely stay. would definitely recommend 😊

Excellent food choices for evening meals, including catering for a food intolerance. Friendly, helpful staff.

I realise you can't vet all your guests but the very drunken wedding party that kept us awake by yelling in the corridor and vomiting loudly throughout the night was a bit disappointing, limiting large bookings might be a good idea in a small place like this. We got our revenge by talking loudly, singing Manic Street Preachers songs in the shower and banging doors at 8am the next day though, so it's all good ...... :-)

The location was great and all the staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent and great value for the money. The accommodation was lovely and very modern and clean. Myself and my husband had a great stay there and would definately go back.

The only things that could be improved on maybe would be the bed a bit softer, i found the mattress very hard and the showers, the large shower head just trickled had not got much water pressure and had quite a bit of limescale blocking the holes.

Local and cheap - we just needed a bed for the night during building work. Beds are exceptionally firm - almost a little too firm... and the room on arrival was clean and well-stocked. The Foxglove pub is lovely and food is good. We always left too early to try the breakfast however!

Pillows are terrible - perhaps bring your own. The room was too warm and the hard-to-reach window only opened a crack. We extended our original booking of two nights to stay an extra three nights. On what would have been our original checkout day, we returned in the evening to an unmade bed and pile of wet towels. We were able to get fresh towels and assumed the booking change had caused confusion, which would've been understandable. However, two days later the same thing happened again. Housekeeping seems disappointingly disorganised.

The hotel rooms were surprisingly nice for a pub hotel stay! It was very clean, and the bed was super comfy. We were heading to a wedding so requested an early check-in, and although staff couldn’t promise anything as it depended on customers leaving first, staff went above and beyond to get the rooms cleaned ASAP so we could check in early! The stay was great value for money and we would highly recommend and would definitely stay again. thank you :)

nothing - perfect stay :)

We stayed for one night at the hotel. The room was well presented with tea, coffee, milk, and sugar provided on the desk along with the restaurant menu and a guidance sheet for the room (how to use wifi, etc). It was clean and tidy with a cozy vibe! The bathroom was spotless with towels provided and a bath sheet as well as some toiletries which we didn't actually use but will be handy for those two who needed them. Plenty of parking on site but I'd say it's a case of first come first serve, especially if you arrive during the restaurant's open hours. We were in room 10, which is actually at the very main entrance of the hotel which at first we were concerned about as we thought we'd hear guests leaving and arriving but we didn't actually hear anyone after 8 pm! The front door of the hotel is accessed by a fob only, which is definitely reassuring while you're away from the hotel.

Upon arriving at the hotel, like usual, we grabbed our bags from the car and walked to the main front of the hotel, not knowing we had to check in at the pub (the front door of the hotel states to go to the pub)! Rather than carrying our bags we put them back into the car and walked around to the Pub. I'm glad we didn't take our bags as at the time there was a large party around the bar which would have made it difficult to move around with bags and cases. We then managed to check-in and headed back to the car for our luggage. Perhaps needs to be mentioned on the booking emails (unless I've missed this and if that's the case that's my own fault!)
