The location was brilliant. The size of the rooms are great! Beds are comfy! Staff were very helpful when needed. We also loved that free parking was provided for us throughout our stay. Lovely to have tea and coffee supplied in our rooms.

There are a lot of stairs and some family members I came with have some mobility problems. You only have one downstairs room which had been booked therefore we think it would be a great idea if there was a lift or even a stair lift, which there is room for, and this would had made it much easier for them to get to their room without hurting/being in pain. We did state for our rooms to be close together and 2 rooms were next to each other which was fantastic! One room was a little out of the way, we was told this was due to bed situation. We was still happy!

Everything was excellent. Great staff, food and drinks. Was in an excellent location with great entertainment. If i was to make one suggestion, it would be for the cutlery to be brought out with the food. My mum sat outside and can't walk very well so, I had ordered her food for her. Her food came out and she asked for the cutlery and the waiter just said oh its inside. She had to leave the table and struggle to get the cutlery. Later in the evening, we went inside to play cards and a family of 4 were given their food, again, they asked for cutlery and were told where it was and they sent their young lad off to get them before they could start eating, i just think to make it perfect, just bring the cutlery with the food for customers, otherwise, it was 10/10.

See above about the cutlery

There was a mix up on arrival, I had booked a family room but the Hotel had reserved a double room. It was, however, a large room and in no time a single bed was added by the very helpful staff. We had made better time than expected on the journey so we arrived early and decided to have lunch at the hotel. Sam and Mand were most attentive during our stay and made us very welcome. As our room was ready Mand gave us our card keys and we unloaded our luggage. We were only staying three nights, a long weekend, so we didn't eat exclusively in the Hotel, but the meals we ate there were well prepared, nicely presented and very tasty, and the portion size was great. There was evening entertainment on both Friday and Saturday. My daughter and I particularly enjoyed the singer (Paul) on Friday evening. Access to our room was external to the bar/pub so there was no problem with entry after bar closing time. The Villager is located right on the main street, shops, coffee bars, market all within easy walking distance. We had a great weekend, made even better by Sam, Mand and the crew at the Villager, thanks guys. I'm booking again now, so we'll see you again in September.

There were no real bad points and any that were (like the family room) were quickly and efficiently dealt with

Checked into the hotel with no problems and was given 2 card keys to the room and a pass for the parking that's located behind the hotel. I liked that there was a separate door to enter and exit the hotel part of the pub. The room was lovely and clean and a perfect size for me and my daughter.

The floor in the room was really creaky in one part but it's not something that can be easily fixed. Soundproofing wasn't the best from the hallway when hearing people come in late at night but again it's not something that was more than a minor annoyance.

Food was nice, the lovely kitchen staff even cut her break short so we could order food on arrival. Nice room size we little balcony, very comfortable main bed. Was nice to be able to turn the heating off and to have a ceiling fan.

We booked a family room as no twin rooms available. The other bed was a pull out bed from underneath the main bed which wasn't long enough for a 6 foot person. On pulling out the bed, there was a previous guests makeup lid and makeup removal dirty wipes. The bathroom also didn't have a working light, there is a roof window so was light enough though.

Great location, friendly staff, loved the pub below, excellent food, clean ,comfortable rooms, had everything I needed.

It was very warm in the room, we kept waking in the night as too hot, the fan didn't really make much difference, I love having a nice warm room to stay in , but it got a bit too hot, I turned the thermostat down (behind the bed) but It took a long time to cool down. That's the only thing I would complain about, and I don't normally moan about being too hot, but the room was a bit too uncomfortably hot. 😁

Clean, perfect location, comfy bed

First night, the key card did not work, so I ended up calling security to try to get us in it took a while for him to attend. He couldn't get us in so he tried to call, but there no answer. I tried to call but no answer. After a while the security managed to get the door open. Very stressful as it was late and we wanted to get to bed. I think you need to get someone to answer the phone from the villager in this scenario.
