The Midland Hotel

Breakfast was lovely with a great choice. Location was ideal for us. The staff were really friendly and pleasant. The hotel was clean and well looked after and it’s a very attractive building. Although we didn’t use public transport we could see that the hotel is well placed and convenient if we wanted to catch a bus or a train. We would definitely stay again.

I don’t like it when hotels put scatter cushions on top of the clean bed linen. Most people throw the scatter cushions on the floor and to put them on top of clean pillowcases seems unhygienic. Also, the clean towels were neatly folded and placed on the bed runner; which I presume is there to protect the bed linen from people who put their shoes on the bed; so again putting clean towels where people have had their dirty feet - not very hygienic. I might be considered picky but all hotels seem to do this and I just don’t like it. The step up to the shower was awkward.

Convenient location for the canal and the end of our fourth day walking the St Paulinus Way. Nice rooms located in converted stables behind the pub. Lovely old stone-built premises. Clean, contemporary decor. Very popular with locals. Good breakfast and nice, helpful morning staff.

Understaffed in the evening - I felt sorry for those who were on as they were very young and could have done with more support. Nespresso machine in bedroom - would have liked eg coffee bags as back up. Music in bar too loud - people had to shout to talk to one another.

Lovely accommodation. The room was nice and big, and spotlessly clean and tidy. We loved having a coffee shop inside the pub. Not too far to drive to the centre of Leeds. Free carpark. Nearby shops. Definitely recommend it.

I wish they offered cereals / croissants etc at breakfast as the only option was a cooked breakfast, which is very nice, but I only fancied something small. The restaurant was very busy on the evening and it was hard to get a seat. The staff hadn't advised us to book a table. When we had asked earlier on about booking a table, they said it wouldn't be necessary. When we went back later, we struggled to get a table and had to squash in a corner in the coffee shop with a tiny table for 4 of us.

Wonderfully helpful staff. We arrived late in the evening due to traffic and the restaurant had stopped serving food. The staff were very helpful in finding us somewhere to get food and providing us with cutlery and plates to eat from. The room was clean and warm (very glad it was warm as it was -5 outside!). Tea/coffee facilities were ample. Beds were comfy and plenty of pillows!! Bathroom and shower area were clean and fresh. Breakfast the next morning was huge! The breakfast staff were welcoming and helpful. Coffee was brought to the table within minutes of ordering and breakfast arrived soon after. All staff were friendly and helpful towards our 17month old too which is always pleasing. They even had baby size cutlery! (The little things really mean a lot!) Overall the place was fab and far far cheaper than anywhere else nearby for the same night! We will definitely be back.

That we only booked in for 1 night!

The room was at the back of the pub and was perfect.Bathroom was excellent and the electric shower powerful.Parking for me was 10 metres from my room and the bar entrance 20. Great beers on tap along with the selection of food available,I ate here as well which you can eat inside or out. Breakfast was prepaid for me and I had the vegetarian option with coffee, all staff were very attentive and polite. I will be staying here again if available when next working in the area.

Handy location, nice pub environment with good food, excellent rooms in annex kept warm in the cold weather, very comfortable, super breakfast with friendly service

A very minor blemish on an otherwise 10/10 stay, was not offering an alternative ale for the 'drink deal' with the burgers, with Doom Bar not being available. I was only offered lager instead and pay an extra 50p, despite TT Landlord being available, but they would not offer that as an alternative to Doom Bar unless I paid full price and lost the offer of the inclusive drink. Petty or what!

The beds were very comfortable and the shower pressure was perfect. The warmth in the room was lovely (especially as it was very cold when we stayed). The staff was nice, especially the red-headed lady that serves us breakfast every time we go. She is great! Breakfast was very nice.

The accommodation was ok but very dated. The bathroom door kept sticking (at one point I thought that I was trapped). The toilet seat slips and could have been dangerous for a small child or elderly person.

really enjoyed our stay with the midland hotel we stayed in room 5 which was lovely and clean and the welcome was 5star. The staff were fantastic and really helpful the manager went out of his way to get us a taxi sorted for our night out. Breakfast was absolutely lovely and the staff were so friendly especially the lady with the red hair couldn’t have been any better we will definitely be recommending and returning our selves.

Room was lovely and clean. Really comfortable. Heater provided was sufficient to quickly heat up room. Lovely big bathroom and shower. Free parking. Food in pub was lovely (best steak and cheese wrap ive had). Would stay again.

Breakfast took about 30 minutes to come due to pub being busy but luckily we were not in rush. Was worth the wait tho as was really nice. Only small suggestion - more baked beans, as your only given a tiny little pot.

The room was comfortable a little on the small side but had all that we needed, it was nicely decorated and clean. The breakfast was very good, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Also a lovely garden area. .

The water pressure in our opinion needs to be turned down in the bathroom, water splashed over the sink and the water pressure on the shower was very fierce .
