Our room was very clean and well serviced, the staff were helpful , knowledgeable and very approachable. A good stay!

Perhaps the Hotel could mark out a clearly delineated outside smoking area with bins for cigarette ends.Which would hopefully eliminate the array of cigarette butts around the hotel entrance and reduce that smell of smoke as you enter the hotel.I realise that my comments might appear a wee bit picky, but first impressions do matter.

I have stayed once before at the Clayton and stayed this time for my daughter’s graduation. The rooms are very clean, towels and bedding of good quality and the room well equipped. Staff were very helpful. Access to the motorways is very good.

Unfortunately there were roadworks outside my window and I was on a busy traffic junction. However, this didn’t affect my sleep too much and could not be helped. The hotel is not right in the centre of the city but I knew that. It’s a 15-20 minute walk into centre of Leeds. Again, I knew this when booking. The hotel location has great motorway access.

Overall the property and staff were excellent. The room was very comfortable and it was nice to have a firm mattress and pillow for once, as many hotels give you a half-stuffed pillow and a deeply uncomfortable mattress which is like sleeping on a marshmallow. So very pleased this was not the case.

The only criticism I had of my room is that there was no air-conditioning or fan available in my room which meant the only way of keeping cool was to open the windows which let the noise in from outside. It wasn't too bad while I was there, but I can imagine on very hot, humid nights, it wouldn't be fun sleeping in the room without either.

Reception staff were lovely, I only visited the bar on the first night and received good service there. I needed to extend my stay by a second night, which was no problem. I ordered pizza and drinks via room service which arrived in an acceptable time, I wasn't that impressed with the pizza to be fair but was so hungry I ate it anyway (the base was soggy and the pepperoni & cheese were rather greasy).

Bit of a pain driving to it as it's a bit out of the way and there were road diversions/closures - but obviously not the fault of the hotel. As I arrived late each night, parking was limited to the lower level, which is a bit creepy at night as a lone female, however, there was a lift directly to reception.

The room was an excellent size and furnished in pleasant decor. The chairs and table to sit at was a ice touch and the different lighting, also. Iron and tea and coffee, hairdryer. - all very handy! Mattress was superb!!’

Two hairs on bath. That weren’t from us! Room was a bit on the cool side when we entered. Decor although nice a bit 2000 woody and bland colours. Coffee could have been better in the rooms, breakfast a bit pricy. Asked for a room on booking that was lower ground and put me on 7th - there’s only 8 floors so we were pretty high! When we checked in only 1 room key provided which was tricky if one of us had to leave the room as all lights would go off!

A well priced city centre hotel with staff who clearly care about their guests. I couldn't believe it.myself until I walked through the door of the Clayton. Even before this, when parking under the hotel, we were directed to a little space to squeeze our little car in as the hotel was packed as expected on a Saturday. Having been let down by our Airbnb, and speaking to the amazing front of house host/maitre'd Phoenix, we went from stressed and let down from our Airbnb experience, to welcomed, relaxed, and wanted and felt like the weight was lifted before we'd even got into our room. Phoenix was also kind enough to upgrade our room having understood it was my partners birthday, and asked our plans for the evening, directed us to local bars and recommended restaurants in the area. Nothing was of any problem to the front of housers a at this establishment as proven again in the morning with breakfast. The manager on duty was polite and cheery, explained where everything was, and once finished we saw our friend Phoenix again who clearly is a people person, recognised us, asked how our night was...with a hig smile and a genuine love and care for the job at hand, I was just... I was taken aback. Thank you to the Clayton. And Give Phoenix A Raise!!!!!

The room iteself was absolutely amazing, plenty of room, plenty of facilities, great receptionist help when phoned to ask questions and firm but comfy bed. The parking is plentiful and cooled to a very comfortable standard. The lifts are extremely fast and make short work of getting you to the floor you need to get to.

The pay stations for paying for the car park could be in a better place and facing towards reception to make them more obvious, the pay stations could also be raised up a little as I had to crouch down to get to the numberpad (for card payment), not great for someone with bad knees. Even though we didn't check out, the turn down team came into the room (While we were out having breakfast) and took some items from the room that we left to collect after our breakfast. I had to go and request for them back from the team which felt awkward to say the least.

Impressed with the easy check-in and check-out experience. The staff allowed me to check-in earlier as they had some spare rooms available. That was really helpful, thank you! Good location, 10 minute walk from Leeds train station Tesco express and Starbucks a few minutes away, which was a nice bonus

Nothing major, just one thing that caught my eye. If you order a hot drink using room service, you have to pay a £4 tray fee😅 so you end up paying £7-8 for a coffee. Might as well go to the Starbucks nearby and treat yourself. Room service tends to be expensive anyway though, so not a major issue

Where to start, from arriving early and still being given a room to rest in, to three days of meetings and presentations, I never saw any of the staff without a smile on their faces and not trying their best to do whatever they could to please. The library was a great hidden extra to sit and have a coffee, or just escape the madding crowd. How good was the trip, in one sentence? Our next conference will be here, simple as that.

I couldn't think of anything to write here, I was truly blown away by the capacity and capability of all the staff and their willingness to assist.

The staff were so helpful The parking was on site as advertised, which is rare for Leeds, and the staff were so friendly and polite when I called ahead and anxious The building and facilities were beautiful and comfortable The car parking was safe and secure and we loved it We will definitely stay again The location was amazing for what we needed and everything in walking distance, even a Tesco express open at night for food and snacks

The pillows were a little firm, but that's okay! We slept so well after a busy day and it was so nice and comfortable and we felt at ease
